AlykesLocation: In the resort of Alykes next to Alykanas about 20km northwest of Zakynthos town Getting There: Quite a distance from the other main resorts, you will probably combine a visit here with a tour of the island. The main road will take you through Katastari, although there is a more scenic route around the coast Access: Several access points, most without any steps Sunbeds: Yes, but plenty of areas where you can lie on the sand Toilets: In the nearby bars and restaurants Watersports: Yes, including boat trips to the Shipwreck and Blue Caves Safe for Kids: Yes, the water remains very shallow along most of the beach. Food & Drinks: Plenty of nearby bars and restaurants Turtles: No Seaweed: Not usually a problem Sand or Pebbles: Fine sand mixed with small pebbles in some parts of the beach Car Parking: Usually fairly easy to find a place to park nearby

A great beach and it was made all the better by Mr Kev. He made us feel really welcome and nothing was too much trouble, serving drinks, food etc. He also gave us some great tips about the resort and island. He was always there with a happy smiling face. We tried other beaches but this was definetly the best.  |

just thought id comment on alykes beach, after reading other comments i cant agree more about kev and the beach outside the buca bar, ive been to zante for years and my sister lives there, so i should know when i say this beach is the best, as for kev, what a top bloke, he was there when you wanted him and wasnt there when you didnt, we didnt have to do anything, everything was there for us, including tablets for when my wife got stung in mouth by a wasp, and he was also brilliant with the kids. hope to see him again in july, 10 out of 10. as for the bloke on the other side of the beach, wot a pain.  , he pestered us and got rude when we chose to go to kevs side of the beach, 0 out of 10. bit of advice if your looking for somewhere to sunbathe for the day, got to kevs side.

 just back from zante 2 weeks ago what a great time we had we stayed at the maria studios what a great bunch of guys who run it theo,alex,billy, dennis make you feel welcome and a lovely set up in the studios,  some great bars to espeically cheers bar with scottish hosts linda,stuart& familydifferent thing on every night saturday night is good with the to guys with the guitars
what a great night the restuarants are great to not one bad meal did we have the whole 2 weeks,

  beach outside buca bar was fantastic and made all the better by kev (mr kev). nothing is too much trouble for him, he brought lilos and toys for our children. my son lost his mask in a wave and mr kev gave him another. the kids broke one of the bats and kev was straight over with another set for them. he brought us great ice creams from buca bar too.
he keeps the beach clean and is always on hand for anything you may need, including a "good b***h" eh kevin!!!
he's easy to spot, just look for a tall guy in red shorts who resembles a tanned eric sykes and thats your man!!!
hope he's there next year, top bloke and a lovely clean beach.

Went all over the island and this beach was definately one of the best. The water is exceptionally clear and warm (and thats saying something as i have been to the Maldives). The best spot is in front of the Asteria. Vladimir looks after the beach here and will keep you entertained, he is very funny and polite and a general sweetie , once you've met him its hard to forget him, hes such a character.
The water is very shallow and calm and takes you forever to get out of your depth, great for kids. Can't wait to return. |

Beach is lovely - soft, gentle sand and very shallow. You can go out about 200m and it still wasn't above my chin (I'm only 5ft 4) !
We used the sunbeds on the beach near the Golden Dolphin watersports. Not as many sunbeds out this year as in previous years but a great welcome from Nikos at Golden Dolphin as usual.
Very safe for young children. |

what a fantastic beach visited this beach every time i have been. the last time i came was with my friends. the beach is so clean and you can see to the bottom of the water. MR Kev let us use the lilos and the ringos for free. he always brought us drinks so we didnt have to get up and he was always checking we were ok. he is a lovely man and cant wait to see you next year Mr Kev.

| at the crossroads in alykes head straight down to the beach and outside the Buca bar look for a tall tanned english fellow called kev or Mr kev. fantastic guy can't do enough for you whether its beach toys for the kids or waiter serviced mythos, cocktails and milkshakes! first class guy, excellent beach for the kids. we'll be back!. c u soon kev thanks again |

This is the best beach on Zakynthos
See Dennis at the south end of the beach for the best sunbed hire....he's a diamond, a nice guy who speaks to his customers and makes them feel welcome.
This is a good beach for families and the elderly....very safe and clean

| Brilliant beach in Alykes. This was our third time here and we just love the beach. Better than the Caribbean!!!! White sand, crystal clear water (tho very salty!!!) and extremely safe as you can walk way out and only be waist deep. |
