GO WITH CAPTAIN SPIROS!!!!! We read lots of reviews of this levente boat trip and boy did it live up to its expectatipns!! The captain is a wonderful man and we even got the rhe shipwrecl before anyone else, since the weather was to windy the captain took us to see the face on the rocks instead of some of the blue caves evem though we syill saw some of them! He let children drive the boat and captain spiros was very informative when comjng to the history and facts!! This is a must and well wprth your money!!!!!

I stayed in the resort of Tsilvi and there are lots of companies that do trips to blue caves and ship wreck.  In the end as I booked with Levante company which I am so glad I did. There is a reason that the most way they get their business is by word of mouth. Captain Spiros is so knowledgeable and informative. He has so much passion for the job and it shows during his trip.  What is also good is that there is only about 30 of you on his speedboat so its a lot more personally and love the fact that his boat can get into the blue caves When you speak to other tourists they all recommend going to blue caves and shipwreck with Spiros and his team.  Sadly the day we went Captain Spiros couldn't dock in Shipwreck due to the waves however that was most likely a good thing as there was a dead goat floating in the water at shipwreck. Since we couldn't dock at Shipwreck he took us to Poseidon's face.  My friend and I loved this trip and while we were in the resort we recommended Captain Spiros to everyone we saw.  IF YOU WANT TO SEE SHIPWRECK THIS IS THE COMPANY TO USE.

What are these trips like for Children? We are a small group coming with a 2 and 4 year old. They sound amazing and we don't want to miss out however at the same time we don't want to waste time and money if there is a possibility we may struggle. X

After reading reviews and hearing from others about how good Levante were we decided to book with them a trip to the ship wreck and blue caves. I must say I am extremely glad we did as the trip was brilliant! Captain Spiros and his 2 crew were fab! Spiros is very knowledgeable and tells you everything you need to know about each stop you visit. The boat is a speedboat and can hold 35 people, this is very nice as it feels a lot more personal. We left Tsilivi harbor at 8.30 and we're the first to arrive at the ship wreck, we had the beach to ourselves! The beach does get very busy which we saw as we were leaving and more boats arriving! It was great having the beach so private and the captain told us stories about the wreck! The blue caves were also stunning with plenty of time to swim, take photos and again because we went early we had the caves to ourselves! We also stopped at a small village (St Nicholas) for refreshments! All in all a brilliant day out, the best boat trip we've done and would highly recommend!!

Went with captain spiros  levante travel an absolute must, arrived at the shipwreck before anyone else and in and  out of blue caves and others with plenty swim stops.he is very knowledgable a fantastic must do trip .what a fantastic speed boat trip.

Done this trip travelling from St Nicholas Port (2013).

Blue caves definately worth doing, but the ship wreck - not so much unfortunately.

Glad I've been but wouldn't go again, too many people on the beach at one time, "beach" hurts your feet, the water is colddna dangerous as small boats plowing in to drop more people off and because of the amount of boats there the diesel fumes are terrible
But like I say, the blue caves are definately worth the trip, and will be going again next time I go

You must go with captain spiros  he is brilliant best trip ever been on I would have paid a lot more and not complained Zante would not be the same without  him .

click to enlargeclick to enlargeclick to enlargeclick to enlargeclick to enlargeWhat a brilliant trip. Capitan Spiros was the best choice we could have made, he loves his job and I m soooo happy we picked his speed boat for our trips. 1st trip We were the first boat to reach the shipwreck, it was absolutely amazing, never seen blue water like that. You have got plenty of time to take lots off pictures without any other tourists . The Blue caves were just awesome. The Capitan Spiros tells you all about them, he is funny and he makes it very interesting. We also stopped at ST Nicholas port for little refreshment and swim, the water at the port is also beautifully blue. When we got back to Tsivilli Harbour we have booked the afternoon trip straight away 2nd trip The turtle trip was brilliant too; we really did get to see the turtles in no time. They are such a beautiful creatures. After turtle spotting we head off to the Marathonisi (Turtle Island) for a swim in crystal clear water , relax on the beach and picture time . Then we head off to the Keri Caves, you get to swim in the caves On the way back to Tsivili we stopped at Banana beach for more food, drinks and pictures. The day was absolutely amazing.............................. I would highly recommend the CAPITAN SPIROS to everyone who wants to get best of the Holidays. Can t wait to go back, hopefully I ll see all my new friends next summer XXXx

I have just returned from spending five days in Zante and, with such a limited amount of time in Tsilivi, I wanted to go on a decent trip and I wasn't disappointed by Captain Spiros & the Levante speedboat. It was interesting and entertaining, delivering exactly what was advertised and was good value for money. You can book online at www.zantelevante.com

Hi, we are off to Zante in August. Please could you tell me if the ship (boat) goes close to the ship wreck as im not a great swimmer and would like very much to actually get on the beach. Thank you

Colleen C          10/10

Went to Zante this summer for holidays (July/august) with my boyfriend!!! When booking our holiday, i saw the beautiful picture of the shipwreck beach and was determined to go visit while we were there.  We booked the trip with a company along the street.  Instead of taking the large boat, we booked with the speedboat as it gets there in 1 hour instead of 3!!!! when we arrived at the shipwreck, it was 10am.  There were only 50 of us there as we were the first boat to arrive!!! And boy was it worth the trip!!! the view is outstanding, the water is so blue and the sand so white!!!! the shipwreck is great too!!!!!

To top it all off, my boyfriend (of 8 years) got down on 1 knee and proposed!!!!! its something i wil never forget and a place i will def visit again!!!!

Definately, if u are going to zante, this is a place u dont wanna miss out on.....and take the speedboat!!! u get the whole beach to urself for an hour!!!!!

Just arrived back from Zante. WONDERFUL holiday, beautiful island. If you want to do the boat trip to the Blue Caves and Ship Wreck (or to Turtle Island and the Keri Caves) you have to go with Captain Spiros and crew (http://www.zantelevante.com/). The early morning trip means that you are the first on the Ship Wreck cove, and you honestly are - most of the other operators promise this but don't deliver. Captain Spiros is great with the kids and will stop anywhere you ask. The boat takes 35 (approx) people so you get to see everything and it's not over crowded. Great value for money. You will not be disappointing.

Have been going to Zante for the last 10  years or more; My Tip; If you intend to do these trips DO NOT BOOK WITH YOUR HOLIDAY TOUR COMPANY, THEY MAY WELL OVER-CHARGE YOU FOR WHAT YOU GET; Instead Go to Porte Vromi (porto roma) Hire a Small boat to take you instead, That way you don't have to go all round the Island, If you only want to do the Ship Wreck; We have Done the Tour 4 Times, Once on Our Own Steam, 3 With Holiday Tour Companies; & Guess What We Only Got To Dock & Go To The Ship Wreck On The Trip We Organised Ourselves, not Once With The Holiday Tour Company Trips.

Alas if you want to see the Island Round Trip By Boat, Your Holiday Tour Company Trip Will Be A  Day Trip; Your Call!!! Advice THESE ARE WELL WORTH SEEING, ESPECIALLY BLUE CAVES, In a Smaller Boat.

We took the VIP shipwreck tour with Nefis Travel. Jackie, the owner, helped me arrange the trip including the transfer all be fore we arrived on the island. We had a scenic trip up to the north of the island by coach where we then boarded the boats. The great thing about the Nefis trip is you haves maximum of 25 people on the boat so it's not uncomfortable or over crowded. The ride out to shipwreck bay was exciting and we spent a glorious hour on the beach before any other tours arrived. It was great to get the beach and the wreck to ourselves. Later we visited the blue caves, Xigia beach where the water is naturally rich in sulphur and collagen and we also stopped off for a great lunch at a fab local taverna. It was a great day out and I this trip is a 'must' for visitors to the island. Thanks jackie for making our holiday to your beautiful island special! X

We went on a all day trip aroud the island.  At first it was bloody freezzing. wind blowing us.  when we got to the other side of the island it was lovely. went to sumuglers cove. where the ship wreck is.  it was stunning. the warter was clear and the sand was lovely. and we also went inside a cave which was stunning. i wouldnt recomend this trip to fammilys with small children as it is a 8 hour cruise. but to anyone eles go for it. ur love it

Samantha V          10/10

we did the shipwreck and blue caves trip with Nefis travel in Tsilivi and they are fantastic. Jackie the owner wasn't out on that trip but it was fantastic. We had a roller coaster speedboat trip which was great fun but we still managed a quick swim at the shipwreck before going to the blue caves. I have done trips previously when I was on holiday 2004 but it was with an over crowded big boat and you couldn't get in the caves this time George the captain took us inside various caves and we swam there which was amazing, like Jackie says"you will all look like little smurfs". Last stop was xenia bay where you swim on a small beach rich in sulphur and collegen, that combined with the shingle makes a great scrub for the skin, although it does smell like my youngests backside lol.

By far this is the best company to go with and I know as I worked for two different companies when I lived in Tsilivi. When I go back I will certainly do all my trips with you again Jackie and hopefully the Kefalonia trip.

Thanks for three fantastic trips you are "simply the best".xx

We were looking for a small boat trip and felt an all-day one would be a bit much in the heat.
We visited 'Pats Tours' in Kalamaki and she showed us the 'Half-Day' Cruise on a speedboat which went to Smugglers Cove, Blue Caves and stopped off somewhere else where the name I forget for a swim.
Cost for the 4 of us was just a little over 100 euros. To me it wasn't cheap - especially for a half day but it suited our needs.

We were picked up by Coach at the end of the road where Dias is around 8.30 and drove through to Argassi (I think) to pick a few more people up.
When the coach parked up at the harbour, it was difficult to understand what the coach driver was saying but he was sort of pointing us in one direction.

Just like sheep, we all followed the first people off.  We found the boat and noticed that it wasn't particularly very big - the open roof top only held about 10 or so passengers so we ended up inside. (In the end, this was actually a bit of a blessing!)
It seemed quite a while with everyone sitting on the boat just waiting - when eventually the engines started and we started to be on our way.
However, we had just got out of the main harbour when we noticed the crew huddled around the controls. A few minutes later the boat started to turn around and head back to the harbour.
Boy that was a quick trip!!

The problem here was that no one knew what was happening and the crew seemed to want to keep it that way. Lots of locals started to get on the boat, go down to the tiny engine room and then back out again. Make-shift items seemed to be bought on board to fix whatever the problem was.
After about 30 minutes one of the crew jumped on a moped and headed off. Again no one was informed what was going on and how long it would take to fix. Obviously we have to thank the local Halfords (or whatever) that they were open as after another 30 minutes, the guy returned with what looked like a fuel filter. 20 minutes or so of banging under the engine compartment, the engines roared back up.

This is why we were actually better sat inside rather than on top of the deck as it was so
hot and the people upstairs were getting scorched.

Once we were on our way, it was actually a very nice trip. The sea was very calm and we had click to enlargechance to take in all the views. As the boat headed north around the island, the waters started to become a bit choppier - this actually made it a little bit more fun.
Rather than stay inside we managed to sit/stand at the back of the boat. this was bliss as the wind kept you cool and you had the occasional mist of sea water in your face.

After about an hour we started to moor into Smugglers Cove. We were told we had an hour here. The click to enlargeplace is an absolute gem and one of the biggest memories of our holiday.
Be warned though, it can be a little tough for some people getting off the boat as you have to climb down a small ladder into the sea. (Getting back on is even harder).

It was lovely to have the opportunity to swim in such blue water - although you do have to be careful click to enlargeclick to enlargeoff all the boats coming in and out to drop off/pick people up. Unfortunately this also made the sea full of diesel.
The beach is made up of a small shingle which seemed to stick to you. My partner was still finding stones in her bikini hours later!

It was nice to see the actual shipwreck - especially as it appears on so many picture postcards. It's a click to enlargeshame though that the Greek authorities could not almost fence it off since it was totally covered in Grafitti - most of it Greek may I add.
The place was packed - but you could still find a spot to sit. My only problem here is that I would have quite happily stayed another hour.

Once we got back on the boat, we started to make our way to the Blue caves. This was ok'ish but click to enlargeseemed to be a bit rushed. My guess is that the crew wanted to make up some lost time.
The Blue caves were nice for a few pictures but the boat couldnt really get in to them.

We then went on further and stopped off somewhere elese for another swim opportunity. Some people jumped into the sea from the top of the boat. I naturally did not want to give away that I was an Olympic diver so I opted for the more casual effect of simply jumping in off the back of the boat - about 2 foot high!!

Again the sea here was lovely. You could lie back and float. We had about 30 minutes or so here click to enlargebefore we had to come back on board and make our way back.

Although we left the harbour about 10.20 (originally should have been 9) we were back in harbour around 2.15 (originally should have been 1) so we really didnt lose out timewise.
The coach had been advised that we were going to be late back and it was waiting for us and we got off.

Recommendations:
1. Take plenty of water with you as the boat doesn't sell it on board and there is no where to buy anything from.
2. Take a few snacks with you as the sea air makes you hungry.
3. Use the WC on the boat at your own peril. No locks on the door and sometimes the waves
made it an almost difficult exercise !

Would we do it again?  Probably not in this way. Dont get me wrong, there was absolutley nothing wrong with the trip, but if doing something similar, I would look for something that allowed a bit more time at Smugglers Cove.

Janice W

Well we booked last week with Thomas cook and was a bit disappointed there must have been 300 people on the boat took hours to get there and the coach picked us up half hour late!!!!we got to shipwreck beach and was only on there 40 mins which wasn't long enough, very long day
