Cave Bar

Because this bar is higher up and set into the side of the hill it needs decent warmish weather so usually doesn't open until the last week or so in May (weather permitting but does use gas heaters though) and definitely worth a visit. So different to your 'usual' type' of bar. Family owned, they are lovely people and very helpful. You can either stroll up the slight incline to it (approx 100 yds) or jump in the free buggy. Situated near the taxi rank on the Kalamaki Old Road. It has a castle turret to watch the sunset over Kalamaki and a cave area with tables (mind your head lol) One of our favourite bars with decent music too.(p.s. its only a bar, not a restaurant)

Does anyone know how we go about booking this restaurant as I wouldn't want to get there and they're fully booked or closed.  Going in June so expecting it to be very busy.  Many thanks

I can confirm this bar was open the last week of May 2012. We went there on our first night and subsequently went there a couple more times during the week.

hi to anyone who has comment datin 2012 can you tell me if the bar is open now as i went from tsilivi in 2010 to find this bar as i heard so much about it and when i got there it was closed no sign of life and dont want to do the same again but if it is open would love to visit there

Still my number 1 bar! Great cocktails, fab music and lovely Nikos behind the bar. Stunning place, both beautiful and cool.

This is the best bar in Kalamaki by far..........Not long guys before we are joining you again in 8 weeks time.   Cannot wait.  See you soon.

free buggy ride to the bar, you think its gonna be right up in the mountains  but its just ashort ride. very nice inside well outside imeant.nice relaxing place.

Cave Bar - beautiful setting and so friendly, great views and fab sunset. You must go!

I visited the Cave Bar probably 20 years ago now when it was owned by an English guy (form Essex?). It was the place to go as Kalamaki was the only a sleepy little fishing port. Any body else remember him (was it John?)

just got home after 2weeks on my island... this bar just gets more beautiful every year, nikos is on his own now yanni his son has got his own bar , called tabiyias ( formerly mustangs) if you go to kalmaki you just got to go to the cave bar . if you only have one drink its worth alook ..and if you have been to a more beautiful bar it must have been some bar

Nipped up with friends who haven't been here for 12 years, still a wonderful bar for that peaceful drink and great views, will be back soon

 just got back home unfortunately, cave bar is great went there alot over our hols,its fun sitting in the cave having a drink, also the seating area outside is really nice to relax and chill out. will be back next year!

Once again a warm welcome from Yanni and Nikos.  This is my favourite place in kalamaki.  It is a must.  Sorry to say back at home now.  See you guys next year.

 this bar is my idea of heaven a beautiful place to relax and chill,beautiful plants great music and lovely people .me and my wife love the place so much ,we finnish at the cave bar every night.missed going last year went to mexico  moneys tight this year but if i only get a week on  MY  island  I  will be there zante and the cave bar are a drug to me and i need a fix  (SOON)............

Once again we are going back to Kalamaki and this is definately our favourite bar.  Looking forward to seeing you all.  We are bringing along some members of our family to enjoy this wonderful bar and wonderful sights from the turrets.  See you all in about 5 weeks time.

Definitely worth a look although drinks are slightly more expensive than elsewhere. Would have liked to have gone during the day as well to see the view from the turret.

Can't go to Zante without visiting this excellent chill out bar. The setting is perfect and ideal to see the sunset. Drinks are reasonably priced as well for such a stunning place.

the cave bar was bigged up to us by our rep but when we actually visited was nothing like we expected was lovely and the drinks were ok but it so much smalled than we had been lead to belive it was nice to sit and watch the sunset and look out over the sea but was a little disapointed
