Nikos Studios

Accommodation in Alykes

Gillian S          3/10

me and my fiance went to nikos in july. im only 21 an i would have to say its not reali for my age. either is alykes for that matter. loads of bars but all empty. no night life wats so ever. nikos didnt help matter. they had only 2 nights of entertainment themselves, one which was a greek night, never laughed so hard in me life. all the people that were there got up an left. the other was karaoke the night before we left which wasnt too bad. we were friendly with everyone there an noone gave any nice remarks about nikos or his family. we found him very cheeky an not very helpful. the bar is overpriced as is the food. the rooms are quite small but not bad. you dont go on holiday to spend all day in your room so wats the prob.

altho when u arrive the apartments look out of the way, they arent. 10 mins take u to town where me an my fiance hired a quad for the week. 55euro an only 7 euro filled it wi petrol an done the week. not very fast but cheaper than hirin a car or takin a bus. we even took it to the waterpark an made it home in one peice.

waterpark is pretty good too altho my man broke his nose comin down a slide an the lifeguard sat an watched him struggle to get out of the pool with blood everywere.

smugglers cove trip was a disaster. we went on a wee boat to get to the beach itself. they parked half a mile out an told us to swim, i cant swim so never got. a man ended up comin back for life jackets as his kids were stranded on beach, the men on the boat didnt care. i was sick over the side an the water was rough an ended up goin for a refund in which the guy tried to punch my man. not very nice pple. that was the blue dolphin trips from alykes.

in alykes itself, we had dinner in a place called denni's everynite. gorgeous steak etc. they were all scottish an english pple an the nicest pple we met overthere. it was a good hol but we didnt stick round to spend time wi nikos or his family. an it did get borin at night with nothin to do. but the weather an the shoppin is great. i know this only a review on nikos, but theres some insight.

Returned yesterday after two fabulous weeks with partner and daughter (8) in Nikos Apartmets in Alikes.

We loved our time there - the apartments are but 10 minutes walk or so from a beach with a lovely small pool and bar and 15 minutes walk from Alikes where there are a number of tavernas all of which serve good, reasonably priced Greek food (we don't know about non-Greek things). As a bonus, Dimitis' Apollo bar had always a nucleus of interesting people and you walk past it on your way to town and back!

The people are all friendly and helpful and really respond if you try a few words of (even appalling) Greek.

At Nikos itself you can find everything you need: a fab (if deep) pool, Nikos' lovely family, pleasant company and enough space to escape from company that is potentially not so pleasant.

The stay is what you make it - in true Greek style. It is not slick and commercial with everything laid on and slotting together seamlessly BUT it more than compensates by being real, friendly, inclusive and fun.

Were the world not so big and interesting, we would be back like a shot.

Just returned from my 2nd visit(certainly not my last)to the Nikos.
These are not the best apartments you will stay in,but hey in life you get what you pay for.
These are very small(but fairly clean)apartments. And if you think about it all you need is somewhere to
put your clothes take a shower and rest you head. The staff are friendly and will try to help if they can.
The pool is fantastic, but if you have children it is quite deep(even at the shallow end).
Had another fantastic stay here from 13-27 July ...
Thanks to the people from NI .... You were the very best.

We have just come back from two weeks in Alykes, where we stayed at the Nikos Apartments.  By we I mean myself, my wife and my 16 year old son.  I do not usually make postings on websites, but wanted to do in this case because of negative stuff I read about the Nikos apartments before going, some of which made me apprehensive.  If you feel the same, DON'T .  The apartments are great.  It is true that they are situated a way out of the resort and beach area, but really this is not a problem if you organise yourself.  If you want a quiet holiday, ask for a quiet room.  We did, and were put in the second block which is set away from the pool and bar area.  We had a lovely relaxing time.  Nikos and his family were great.  My son got ill in the first week, on a Sunday.  The pharmacy was shut, but Theo, Nikos' son came in to see me and when I explained what was wrong, went back to the family home to fetch some medicine to tide him over till we got to the pharmacy.  The rooms are basic, but more than adequate. Prices for food and drink are comparable to elsewhere, and snacks are of a good standard.  Whilst there we had a couple of problems - my son managed to break the bed and there was a leak in the bathroom sink.  Both got fixed as soon as mentioned.  I will return to Nikos' and recommend the apartments to anyone.

Toni S

me and my partner have just booked our holiday for may next year to nikos apartments, and after reading all the comments i was wondering if anybody can give me a few tips on were to go places to see people/companys to avoid! im really interested in doing the blue caves and ship wreck by boat trip, anybody done this? can you recommend a boat company to go with. and anything else anybody can recommend as were going for THREE WHOLE WEEKS BLISS!!!! thankyou please feel free to email me on toni_hull@hotmail.co.uk or tonimichael@tonimichael.karoo.co.uk thanks again xx

Chris S

Just got back from Alykes and the Nikos, I'm afraid I have to agree with some of the other posts.

Sheets and towels were not changed all week, although the cleaner mopped the floor and emptied my bins every day.

The noise around the bar at night was terrible, I ended up staying out till after 2am in the hope it would be quiet when I got back. When I did get in it was too dark to see my doorlock, had to use the light from my mobile so I could put the key in the lock. The light above the door didn't work, I told the owner about it on my first day, he promised he would fix it but never did.

They were also charging 1 euro for a bottle of water, in the resort you could buy six bottles for just over 2 euros. Don't think I'll be going back, and before I get critised this is my personnel experience of these apartments.

Cannot believe some of the nasty comments about this place - this is the second time we have been annd have a fab time again this year - the ting about greece if you get what you pay for !!!  and isn't there a saying about Holdiays are what you make them - maybe me and my friends are just up for anything !!

Hi to all that had late drinks with me and mine between 17th and 31st Aug 2006 - hope you had as much of a good time as Keith, Michael and me.
See you next year

Chris W

I have read through the comments and quite frankly I am surprised at some of the negative comments. We visited Alykes, and stayed at the Nikos Apartments in 2005, and had one of the best holidays ever. So much so we had booked to return in 2006, but due to some health problems we had to cancel the holiday.

I can say without doubt that the Nikos Apartments are well maintained, and in my opinion, of a very clean standard. This is ensured by Nikos and his family. The room maid was excellent. In the room everyday, cleaning the room and shower room, emptying bins, etc. Our bed sheets were changed more often than not, as was our towels. We use to leave the sheets, pillowcases and towels in a pile on the floor by the door, which indicated they needed changing, and they were.

We found the family as hosts were excellent, in particular Nikos, and his son. Nikos's wife was pregnant at the time, so undoubtedly was finding all too much on some days, but she battled on in the heat of the day, and her kitchen. Nikos's father and mother we found at first there was a barrier, but it was a language barrier. Once we managed to communicate, all was OK.

I can say without any reservation, that the Greek Night Nikos and his family put on, on the 2nd Saturday of a Manos holiday is something else, and is worth attending. The food is fabulous, and the entertainment is out of this world. Nikos's extended family also were there, and his own family and the relatives all played music, sang and danced, with all of us joining in as more and more Mythos and Ouzo was drank. The cost of the evening, not counting drinks, was E10. Well worth it. If you do not go, this is one night, you will not get any sleep. We got to bed at 4.30am, and our coach for the airport was due at 7.30am.

Some nights at the Bar, can be noisy. However, Nikos does turn down the music, and lets the punters know if they get too loud. It sounds like he has some new staff there that stand in for him now and then, thus allowing the noise to escalate, more than normal. The best thing to do on that account is to see Nikos the next morning. He does care for all is customers.

Alykes is a great town, distances as said below in other comments. Plenty of bars, restaurants and tavernas. Everywhere we ate in the evening was great, but we had our favourites as well, and they were the Apollo, with excellent staff, and excellent food. Also the Piccadilly down in the centre of Alykes, just up one of the side roads. We really did not have any complaints at all. Another great place to eat is in Alikanas, that is the Dionysis, and Nikos's cousins restaurant, which the name alludes me for now, but there is a supermarket on the corner, which the road leads down to the shore, passing Yiannis Horse Stables and Riding School (they run the horse and carriages between the two villages), and the restaurant is on you left further down.

All in all, a great resort, a great place to stay, and fantastic people.

Have a great time in Alykes, Zakynthos (Zante).

Yeiamas, Chris.

Nat J

went 2 the nikos studios in august 4 3 weeks!!! was the best hoilday yet!! cant wait until next definately goin back there!! im keeping in touch with theo so thts all good!! if want a good place 2 go go 2 the palm tree the people there are really nice and make you feel very welcome!
Nikos studios itself is very nice although poo, is very deep but the kids love it! also it makes them want to learn to swim! its located about 5 mins from the beach if u go the short cut way but that only leads you to the pepple beach so turn left and keep walkingW lots of watersports on the beach 2. water village very good and fun day out but not very big!
nikos one is definetly for the more party people as people only complain about the noise so they should stay in the nikos 2 studios just as good but u get to choose wheathe ryou want the noise or not because you can just leave it!!! wish wasnt home!!!
want to be back there with all our friends!! weather was far too hot couldnt do much in the day as was 2 hot 2! rooms are small but liveable!
nikos is a great host!and theo is an entertainer
roll on next year thats all i can say!!! a cheap but fantasic hoilday all in all your hoilday is how u make it at the end of the day not the accommodation or the people!!

Karen H

We stayed at the Nikos Apartments for 3 weeks in August and found the place to be fine although the room was small and basic and there were 3 of us we managed o.k. Nikos was a great host and I know his family were a bit quiet but at the end of the day you go to see the resort and not his family and they were pleasant enough, the bar food was good and reasonably priced but we had a lovely time and will go back, your holiday is what you make at the end of the day.

Kayleigh H

omg went 2 nikos 4 3 weeks recently and it was really good!!!
the place wher we stayed was very nice and cant say anything bad about!! im jst wondering if all these people went to the same place as we did because we loved it!! and the pool area is not infested by rats!!! i saw 2 rats my whole stay and they were near the smell near apollo!!!
all in all though we met some fantasic people!!theo he is a legend and cant wait 2 see him next year!!nikos is a star and treatsall of his guests the way they should b treated free shots 4 every1!! well you can tell babis and theo are related as they flirt with every1!! not as much theo though wen he likes a girl he tends 2 stick with just her!! (prob till the next girl arrives)rooms are not really top notch but they are livable and thts all you need because people dont really spend much time in ther rooms anyway!!!
also if your going on hoilday you've got 2 expect the noise simply because people arnt going to stop enjoying there hoilday for any1 else are they!!!
id give nikos all in all 10/10!!

Lorraine

arrived back from the nikos appartments on 31st august, after 3 weeks of great fun,the appartments  are ok, the only problems we had were that the maid was hopeless.lol. but after speaking with nick it was all sorted out.the swimming pool was very deep especially for the younger kids, but having said that the confidence it gave my 4 year old was amazing,by the end of the holiday he was diving on to airbeds and skimming across the pool, the location was good, not to far to walk to the main shops,as for food most nights we ate in the appollo great place to eat and the staff are great,

we made some great friends , especially andy tina and nicola,hi guys. and hi to g*y boy and gav and drew, and the wives, there were so many people we met so hi to all,

well thats about it ,the nickos is a great place to stay and nick and theo are the best, thanks to them for keeping my glass full.

Bev R

3-17 August 2006

We met a lot of fantastic people on our holiday and this helped us to enjoy ourselves.  Had it been left to the accommodation, we would not have had such a good time.  The appartments are very basic, the cooking facilities impossible; even cutting bread was difficult, due to the choice of tool being a butter knife or a fish slice-no sharp knives allowed!
The noise from the bar at night was appalling and it only takes one family to decide they're going to sit on their balcony shouting at their children (poor Ben) until the early hours and the whole place is kept awake.
The pool can be really noisy during the day if there are a few children about, but luckily, the beach isn't far and the waiter in Bar Bucca (Mario) is on hand to attend to your every need!
Stay away from the horses and their slings of poo!
Hi to Bunches and Anthony Head (Mandy and Les) who helped to keep us sane (ish)-hope you got your bag of goodies!  Good luck next year!
Nice, basic place, but not relaxing in the slightest.

Debbie A

Hi there David

Yes there are safety deposit boxes in the hotel, they cost 6 Euros per week, and yes there is one cash point in Alykes in the main street at the supermarket  and a couple in Alykanas.

If you don't intend on having air con and you get located in Nikos block 1 then take some ear plugs with you , I never travel without mine!!

Have a good time.

Debbie A

We have just returned from Nikos Apt having spent a fantastic 2 weeks there.  Nikos and Theo are great and I must say having read some previous comments I found the bar area clean. I found the wife and daughter ok, I think becasue their English isn't as good as the mens people think they are being abrupt.

The only complaint I have is the cleanliness, I don't think the maid had read her job description properly, however, saying that after having spoken to Nikos about it and explaining the problems things did improve.  Apparently she was a different maid from last year and this seems to be letting the place down because having spoken to others that were there last year the cleanliness was excellent.

We didn't have any problems with the pool, infact there was sometimes to much chlorine in it.  Just make sure you take some goggles, especially for the children.

The noise is a problem from the bar if you sleep with your doors open but if you get the air con then you can't hear anything.  If that fails if you can't beat them then join them

We met some really fun people and had a great holiday and the weather was absolutely fantastic.  We didn't have one bad meal and the food was cheap and of good quality.

We will return.

Mandy M

We have just returned from 2 weeks at the Nikos Studios  and would not recommend them to anyone other than mongs. We moved appartments twice and one couple insisted on leaving and paid to move elsewhere. The reason are the same as those listed in other comments. If you are unfortunate enough to be going there, there is a consolation for you...we ate at 2 fantastic places - a restaurant in town called Olympic and a taverna on the road to Alikanas called Paradasaiko, ask for Bobby and Gerorge respectively. if 'the sisters' and 'the two girls' read this ..hi!
mandy and les   6th - 20th August

Louise D

click to enlargeclick to enlargeAfter reading some of these later comments I'm beginning to wonder if it's the same place we stayed . We loved Nikos and had no complaints. We were there for the 1st 2 weeks in July. I think we probably had the best position in the top far end apartment away from the bar, but next to the pool. The maid came in every day apart from one and emptied the bins and cleaned up. The bedding was only changed once, but the towels a couple of times. The swimming pool was pretty deep, but my other half loved it 'cos it was perfect for blowing air rings in. The bar was reasonably priced and they served good salads.

We thought the location was perfect, just far enough out of town for some peace and quiet, but near enough to walk to. It was about a 10 minute walk to the start of the main street. The best restaurants we found were... Paradosiako between Alykes and Alykanas, and the Apollo at the far end of the salt flats. The best bar was the Virago Bar, a perfect stop off point on the was back to Nikos. Everyone was really friendly.

I would recommend Alykes and Nikos to anyone wanting a nice relaxing holiday.

Margaret J

The noise from the pool bar went on until 3 am most nights during the first week and our room vibrated with the noise as we were downstairs overlooking the bar. The room was tiny and the beds were extremely uncomfortable and the frame sounded like it was going to break every time we moved - this included our 8 year old sons. The staff in the pool bar were miserable and gave the impression they did not want to serve you. the maid did her best but we heard the grandfather regularly shouting at her. We would not return there or recommend the complex. The pool was not cleaned at night properly and we all ended up with ear infections - my husband having to attend the local doctor throughout the fortnight in order that he was allowed to fly home - the doctor infomed us that the type of infection could only be picked up from unclean pools.

The Nikos Apts are an absoloute dump.....bins in room and toilet only emptied every few days, towels and bed linen only changed once ( and that was only done when we complained ) sun beds round pool never washed down and a filthy bar area. On top of this the mother and daughter looked put out to serve you.

Jo J

Just got back very hot 40-45C. Apartments little far out, with the heat Not far from salt lakes (not very nice looking) and a lot of rubbish around. Apartments very very basic and dirty only received towels once and no toilet rolls also bins was not emptied on a regulary.
Nikos and Theo pleasant but as for the rest of the family no one seemed to want to serve you.

Tracy H

click to enlarge click to enlarge click to enlarge    Got back 2nd July , after a major heatwave . Was in the 40's every day!!
Apartments are small, but we managed fine. Ours was facing the pool on the ground floor which was great. Bar was cheap, plenty of choice of drinks and meals. Pool was never too cold, the sun saw to that! It is deep though at both ends, up to my neck at the shallow end (i'm 5'7) but as long as you can swim you'll be fine!
Alykes is great for a quiet relaxing holiday, but also plenty of drinking and eating holes if you want them and we'll be definately going back. Go to the Palm Bar, the staff are really friendly. Make sure you hire a car and get out and about to the other resorts!

Andy

Hi Lorraine,

There is an electric stove with two rings and pan or two. Toast may be a bit of a problem though. See u there in August. That when we are back Nikos....flying out there on the 10th August

Andy

Lorraine N

myself and my 2 kids are going to the nikos in august this year, could anyone tell me if they have cooking facilities please, ie..will i be able to at least cook them eggs on toast for their breakfast?.thanks for any help..

Kirk H

Returned yesterday studios a little on the small side, if three sharing could become a nightmare but all in all a very pleasant week, after a couple of days had to have the aircon as tempreture went into the 40's but 5 euros a night is a small price to pay for a good sleep !!. The pool was good but not child friendly as the shallow end was around 1.4m but clean. Nice walk to town every night either along the road or take the short-cut to the beach. Had a couple of small room problems but sorted out by Nikos straight away , rooms basic but hey ' you get what you pay for'

Sue K

Returned from Zante about 2 weeks ago.  Had a great holiday and loved the location of the Nikos Apartments as we enjoyed the walk into Alykes at night.  The only downside was the cleanliness of the apartments.  The towels and sheets were never changed all week and they were already stained when we arrived.  The apartment was also only cleaned once (although the bins were emptied on most days) and this was only done after a member of our party complained!!!!

Kathy S

My family went to the Nikos in June we found the apartments basic but clean the maid was really sweet she came in every day to empty the bins and clean around she also did my sons washing up for them the towels were changed a couple of times all our rooms had kettles as did other people we got speaking to and we found Nikos very helpful if we needed anything, the pool is deep but my 6 year old nephew loved it he was quiet safe with his armbands on and we found his confidence in the water really improved.  the apartments are about 15/20 minutes walk to the town centre but all on the flat so not a bad walk.  We walked into alykanas a couple of times which is a eally nice walk but could get a bit much if the weather is too hot but there is plenty of friendly watering holes along the way we might try Alykanas next time as we found both resorts very friendly,  pleasant and relaxing places

Andy

There were no kettles when we were there so its advisable to take a travel kettle with you and use bottled water for tea or coffee. Better safe than sorry. The beach is a 10/15 minute walk and the main area with the local shops and resturants is approximately 20 mins walk. The A/C cost 70 Euros for the 2 weeks that we were there. You get the remote once you have paid.

D T

Just got back from staying at the Nikos Apartments.

The apartments are I think ideally situated from the town about 15/20mins slow stroll. There is alittle supermarket about 5 mins away.
We got the horse and cart back everynite from the town costing 7 euros.
Rooms are very basic,  all the cutlery and crockery where dirty, I stayed in room 1 and everytime I washed pots the smell of the water was awful it smelt like bad eggs.Ouch
The pool is very deep in the shallow end (1.4m). It is a good size thou.
It is very quiet area not much traffic the kids played football in a carpark area.ClapClap

Andy A

You can go into town to the local supermarket...there is pretty much everything you need there for the baby...its a 15/20 minute walk to get there.

Andy S

Hi Myra

You can book through Manos via a brochure ot direct from their website.

Im back there again this year for 3 weeks this time round....two weeks is never enough...lol

Andy S

Hi again Dena,

With regards to your question about the pool....it is quite deep even at the shallow end (1.40m).Your best option is to go to the beach beside the Astoria Hotel  (5/10 min walk) where the water is knee high upto about 20 meters out. There is some areas that have gravel on the beach but if you venture slightly further you come across some very soft sand sauitable for sunbathing and for children to play. The water is clear and there are no rocks in the water to worry about hurting your feet. There are some nice resturants very close by to have lunch. Only thing to watch out for is the guys on the beach selling DVDs....don't be tempted to buy any as 95% of the time you will find the DVDs dont work.

Cathie H

I am looking to book the Nikos apartments in June 2006. Can anyone let me know if the location is suitable for children aged between 10 and 14

Andy S

The beach is a 5/10 minute walk from Nikos and the town is about15/20 minutes. Its OK to walk into town but after a few to many to drink you may want to get the horse and carraige back to the apartment...that costs on average 5/7 Euros.

D T

I am looking to book my hols for this June 2006 at the Nikos apartments, I have looked at a map of the town and the postion of the apartments. Please can anyone tell me the walking time to the beach and to the town. I am hoping to book with my brother and it is his 1st time abroad so i want to make it a good one. Your help would be much appreciated. thanks in advance D

Andy

This was the first time I had been to Zante and I will be returning next year.  Nikos Apartments are very friendly and clean and it is a place I would recommend to everyone.  See you there next year.

Sophia

Ist time abroad with the other 3 girls in Zante. Nikos appartment is so beautiful and the Nikos family are so friendly and will for sure look after you. Nikos  who owns the place is nice too will give u free shots if your lucky. Pheo also works behind the bar he is 15 and is the sweetest boy ever so do look out for him. I really miss staying out here and for sure i will be back to see Pheo, Sperous- cant spell, Nikos and Pa pa nikos and the girls who are also lovely. Everyday a cleaning lady will come round to your rooms mop the floor, make the beds and clean out the smelly toilets, she is lovely. The whole environment is very trustworthy and safe and no problems have occured there. Really miss eveyone and greece. And also go to the water sports on Alykes beach its awesome espeasilly the jet skis.

Andy S

We had our first Holiday on Zante in August this year. We stayed in the Nikos Studios and found them to be very good. Was surprised at how deep the shallow end of the pool was 1.40m. Nikos is a great guy and loves to entertain his guests...if you visit ask him to show you the bottle trick..:) As far as the other guests at the complex they were all great...we made friends with quite a few. And finally if you read this Nikos i will see you next year along with Keith, Lisa, Michael and Sharon...it will be our return for the good nights round the bar...get those vodka shots pouring...yia masssss....lol

Lucy G

this was my first holiday away with friends and i couldnt ask for a better place to stay! for 4 18 year olds it was awesome as we got both good scenery and good bars!Nikos and his family are legends and so helpful and friendly, especailly theo! the pool is gorgeous and everyone is so chilled out, we were always very happy to be mothered by our friendly neighbours!best resturant is olympic and best bar is heat wave! i seriously recommend this holiday resort to everyone!!

Robert B

It was the best holiday i have ever had. I went with my partner who has also put a review on here. We have both just come back and i think its fair to say it is a brilliant place to go. the other accomadations are no where near as lovely as Nikos Studios it really was a lovely surprise for. We made some really nice friends and really relishing a chance to get back out there. Nikos and his family provided a really lovely service and were always helpful to me and my partner. there is so much to around Alykes in the evening with a wide variety of entertainment all of which close to Nikos Studios, roughly about 5-10mins walk. i had an excellent time and would definately recommend this resort to anyone for a liftimes worth of memories. As you can tell i had an awesome time.

Nikos, We Loved You!

Ella C

I returned yesterday from Alykes.Stayed at Niko's studios, definately the best place to stay in the area by far!Nikos and his family are so friendly, Theo his son is adorable! The Greek night they run is excellent, lovely food and a whole night of entertainment which was fun.Me and my partner met a good group of friends there, about 20 of us in total!Nikos and his family really do make you feel so welcome at all times.I really want to go back there even though ive just arrived back, I had the best time there, definately the best holiday i've ever been on, i thoroughly recommend it!!

Chris W

Just as a matter of interest, we have just changed our accommodation in Zante (Zakynthos) to the Nikos Aparments in Alykes, due to problems with the originally booking. The Nikos Apts can be found in the Manos (Greece for Less) Brochure (1st Edition). We have not been to Zante, or the Nikos Apts before, and are really looking forward to it. Thanks for the excellent reviews we have read on this forum. Now to do some searching for more information.

Regards, Chris and Gang.

Morag M

Hi Louise

We have booked to go here this may with manos, it was not in their brochure but we found it on
the manos website and booked it  that way, .  Good Luck

really ned to know how to book up with nikos studios/apartments alikes, zante. loved it but cant find a tour operator who is using them this year...please email me if you could.

Stacey C

Great pool very deep and really big. Rooms are small but have Air Con. Bathrooms are very small and I will never get used to the Greek showers. It can be a little far from the main bars and it can be noisy if your room is near the pool / bar area. If you want a quite room go for Nikos B which is in another block 2 mins down the road but belongs to the Nikos Apartments.

Overall OK, Greek night was well worth the money for the food.

nikos is with manos, airtours (mytravel).
i just got back from his appartment and he's still running it well!
did he show you any of his tricks when you last went??

Chris,&ted. R

Look at Alykes.com Nikos Apartments are on there looks like you have to book them direct with Nikos.

John P

My wife & I stayed at Nicos studios last year, but I see from a message on this site that he is now with Manos. When I tried to get details from Manos I was told he wasn't with them. Is he still going it alone this year or is he with a tour operator. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I WAS WORKING IN ALIKES AND ALYKANAS ALL LAST SUMMER AND I WAS STAYING AT NIKOS APPARTMENTS ALL SUMMER BECAUSE IT WAS THE BEST APPARTMENTS TO STAY AT IN A GOOD LOCATION APPART FROM THE AVRA STUDIOS BUT THERE WERE NO FREE ROOMS.
I THINK THE TWO BEST BARS I WENT TO WERE THE JAM-IN BAR IN ALIKANAS AND THE AVRA POOL BAR IN ALIKES I'M GONNER BE GOING BACK THIS SUMMER SO I HOPE EVERY BODY WHO READS THIS WILL COME IN ONE OF THESE TWO BARS AND AND SAY HELLO I MIGHT EVEN GIVE YOU A FREE DRINK BUT DONT COUNT ON IT HOPE EVERY ONE I MET LAST YEAR COMES BACK AND I LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING YOU ALL AGAIN
BONJOUR

Could you tell me which tour operator Nikos apartments in Alikes are now using.Nikos was with Olympic last year but doesn't seem to still be with them

Gwen T

Just been back to visit for the 2nd time and had a lovely time - Nikos and his family make you feel so welcome its like going home.
Beautiful pool, nice clean apartments. Lots of places to eat within walking distance. Try the Original Pie Shack used to be on the riverside walkway to Alikanas under the name of Pie Shack but Paul and Trish have moved to Toms Place on the main road to Alikanas -thats if you cannot live without your English food - 1st class
Will definately visit again

I have stayed at Nikos' for the last 4 years and would like to stay again in May 2003. I have heard he is 'going it alone' for 2003 (i.e. not through a tour operator).

Does anyone have any info about how to book with him this year ?

Thanks

Dave

Apartments close to the bar area are best avoided if you like sleeping at night. The pool is great if you can swim - but don't expect to touch bottom and breathe at the same time unless you're a six-footer. The beach is good but is at least 10 minutes walk. Bar snacks good and Alikes is OK for eateries (Skippy's is good) but try an excursion to Tsilivi and eat at Trenta Nova.

Staying in the Nikos Studios and in the brochure it says 500km to shops (300 miles)how many really

Jane J

just thought I would put the normal message We loved Nikos Apartments have been there many times and we are going back on may 26th2002 on our honeymoon with 14 other mad people from kent.look forward to seeing all of our friends in Alykes. Jane Mark and all the mad lot from Kent!!!!!!!

Nicky S

Rooms are clean but small. Walk to town each time from Nikos is monotonous - a good 15 minutes with at least 10 minutes to the best part of the beach. Wanted a quiet, relaxing holiday but due to noisy, inconsiderate guests (with Nikos allowing them to be) was kept awake until 3:00/4:00am each night - or should I say morning!. Recommend that you go out and get lagged each night or alternatively, join the noisy, inconsiderate ones and spoil everyone elses holiday! Airport was a complete nightmare. Not very much to do in Alykes itself once you have visited all the bars. Suggest hire a car or bike. Natives were friendly. All in all, I need another holiday to catch up on my sleep!!

Are the restaurants helpful as far as special diets are concerned?

Graham B

I'm staying at this place for two weeks early september. Can anyone tell me if there is any connection between the poorly rated Nikos Studos in Laganos? Hope not because this one in Alykes seems perfect...

Michelle F

We had a great time, a total relaxing holiday. The kids also had a great time and we cant wait to go back. - Michelle, Paul, Jack & Billy Flynn

Hugh R

No problem with the actual accomodation though rooms were a little smaller than usual. Plenty of sunbeds but no shallow end in pool thus kids lose out. Due to noise, e.g. drunk guests rattling their gums until 4.30 in the morning, we asked to be moved. Music blaring until 2am didn't help ( contravenes Greek law incidentally. Another family moved days later for same reason. If going to Nikos ask for the quiet block of flats.

Rachel R

MY SISTER KATHRYN AND HER BOYFRIEND REALLY ENJOYED IT, CAN I COME FOR FREE?

Edwards A

Quick message from Julie, Clive, Ben, Jodie, Jeanette and Steve. We loved it at Nikos Apartments and would just like to say hello to all those that have stayed in the past. Clive and I are hopefully going to visit for our honeymoon this year!!! More good times ahead.

Claire S

My mate and i spent a week in Nikos'apartments and had a ball!! Well...the place was brill and the company in the pool bar was friendly and lively! The poolside was lovely and occasionaly we had waiter service!! Trip to the town and beach was a bit of a walk but who cares when the surroundings were so lovely! we would recommend Nikos' appartments to anybody, super place, wish we could go back there this year!! Jayne and Claire.

Jane J

Hi Dave& Lisa glad that you had a good time this year, mark and tracey are going in 2 weeks time and mark and me are going in the first 2 weeks in August. It would be great to hear from you here is my e-mail address alikes@btinternet.com hope to hear from you soon. Jane

Dave M

Attn : Charlotte Tate The nearest bar is about 5 minutes away (Apollo Bar) but the main town centre / shops are about 15 mins walk away. No hills, all on the flat. We came back yesterday and loved it for the 4th year ! Attn : KENT MOB !! Hi guys and gals, we missed you this year, but Nikos tells me that you are going later in the year. Have a fab time and might see you all in first 2 weeks of May 2002 !! Dave & Lisa Millbank

Charlotte T

Can anyone tell me how far the apartments are from the nearest shops and tavernas? We are going in June. Also do the studios offer the facility to hire fans for the room. Appreciate any replies. Thanks Charlotte Tate

Jane J

Paul,in answer to your question the Nikos studios are about a 15 minute walk from the crossroads you go past the Astoria,Montreal and the salt flats then the road bears to the left and then the next right and continu on this road for a few yards then you will see a turning on the left walk up this lane past olive goves and hey presto! you are there what date in june are you going as my brother is going in june for a week. The reason for not finding them in the books is that Nikos has changed companies and was too late for the book. You will love it trust me we go back time after time sometimes 2-3 times a year. if you want any more inf. just ask. have a good one.jane
