Sharon E  (05 October 2004)

Just read the post below and my heart sank!
My husband James and I are returning to Kalamaki next June and will be gutted if the Savoy and more importantly Lambros will not be there, please stay Lambros!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Love Sharon(Tate) & James(Coburn jr)

Natalie H  (03 October 2004)

I cannot believe that no one has posted a comment here since June (04) !!
Well, for everyone looking forward to seeing Lambros this October (04), I am gutted to say that it will not happen. Our friends Janice had a phone call from Lambros to say that after a very poor summer he has had to return to Athens early to find work to see him through the winter. We can only hope that he will re-open the Savoy in May and we must make sure that everyone visiting Kalamaki next year pays this lovely, genuine, happy, friendly, top guy a visit. Off for a sob now, October in Kalamaki will have a big piece missing :-(

Andrew H  (25 June 2004)

Yet, again, Lambros you made it another enjoyable week. Sheila, myself, Kenneth and Jen thank you again for your warmth and humour. Counting the days until we see you again in October.

Danny M  (23 June 2004)

Just got back and we had a great time. I think Lambro is losing the plot though. We saw him wife hunting, on his knees almost, in the Cavo D'oro supermarket. Apparently she was a bit too old. He has had a haircut and looks tres chic.
Kalimera Lambro, or is it Kalispera, Barbara still isn't too sure.

Thomas   (16 June 2004)

Haya guys, hope you are all good. Cant wait to be back to Zante. Defenetly recommend this bar to anyone. Take care see you soon.

Sandra M  (14 April 2004)

It's at the far end of Kalamaki (the old village) past Angels bar, opposite the Cavo Doro Hotel, in between a tourist shop and the Lighthouse Restaurant. Not very brightly lit up! Lambros is the Man!! 18 days to go!!

Danny M  (07 April 2004)

You need to walk down Kalamki High Street towards the beach. It's on the right hand side about 100 yards after Point Break cafe. My minds a blank about the names of bars next to it. It has a small wooden name sign above the entrance and is a couple of steps up. The bar is quite small, open-air and has wooden benches with lovely cushions.

Sandra P  (03 April 2004)

Off to kalamaki for our 4th visit in july, don't remeber this bar.Directions please!

Danny M  (27 August 2003)

Going back to Kalamaki tomorrow. Don't know where we'll be eating yet, but our first drink will be with Lambro. Can't wait. Yassoo

Only 3 weeks to go,it's been 5 years now since we have been to kalamaki, and we can't wait to see Lambro,we love going there every night sometimes before a meal and sometimes after, and got home very late!!!Those Shots !!!
He really is a very lovely guy,We cannot wait to see him again, this time taking some members of our family, and i'm sure they will love him too.Just wish Steve & Shelley could be there too.I'll post after the holiday to let everyone know how he is.!!

Campbell S  (05 August 2003)

We have been to Kalamaki twice and were last there in 1999. I was thrilled to read that Lambros is still working his magic in The Savoy bar. He is so friendly and such a gentleman. Nothing is too much trouble for him. He has made our previous holidays unforgetable and we can't wait to go back to Kalamaki later this month and see our old friend again. His bar is a "must visit" if you've never been before.

Ant H  (30 July 2003)

Can only echo what others have said. Lambros is a true gent and a great host. And we managed to get him on video talking Welsh!

Fabulous! This is the one bar you really have to visit - just shows you don't need karaoke, Sky TV and gimmicks, just proper hospitality.

Christine A  (24 June 2003)

Lovely to see Lambros again, some very late nights/early mornings, and thanks for all the lifts back to our apartment in your Rolls Royce, Great time at Savoy as usual. Chris + John xx

Steven L  (07 June 2003)

Sharon E  (22 May 2003)

Could anybody e-mail me with Lambros's address?
I had my purse stolen with the precious address in it.

All I can say is, if you haven't visited the SAVOY then you haven't enjoyed yourself in Kalamaki!!!

John M  (19 May 2003)

Lambros is the most genuine person we have met.He is always smiling and is a mine of information. He is always looking out for new words to learn and making paper planes for the kids.On the two trips we have made to Kalamaki Lambros is the first person we look for,a true friend and gentleman.

Andrew H  (12 May 2003)

Visit Labros (not Lambros) - the main man, a true gentleman and philosopher. Spent every night there with friends and enjoyed every minute. Can actually have a conversation and hear every word. If you see Lorna - pass on our wishes.

Hope to see you again soon, my friend.

Andrew and Sheila

Brian S  (21 June 2002)

Hello Lambrois. Give this place a visit - the host (Lambrois) is as friendly as you will ever meet. His complimentary killer shots are becoming legendary. People who visit the Savoy bar seem to come back year after year - it is not hard to work out the reason why. If you cant find the savoy, it is opposites Chives rooftop restaurant. See you in October Brian and Jayne, Newcastle

Samantha L  (17 June 2002)

GREAT BAR, LAMBROS IS A FANTASTIC HOST WHO ALWAYS MAKES U FEEL WELCOME. NEVER TO BUSY AND ALWAYS ENTERTAINING HIS CUSTOMERS WITH MAGIC TRICKS AND PAPER PLANES FOR THE KIDS. BY THE WAY HE HAS NEW CUSHIONS THIS YEAR (HOORAY NO MORE NUMB BUMS!!) FROM ERIC THE NUN (BRIAN) AND PEN A LOPEE

Dave G  (12 June 2002)

I have been to Kalamaki for the last foive years and feel the Lambros is possibly one of the best hosts on the Island. He was very informative and If you are someone who wants to improve your Greek, will give informal lessons. The music is good and would recommend a metaxa and coke as a good way to end the night.

Snacks J  (03 June 2002)

Mark   (08 September 2001)

This was the place to finish at the end of the evening with good 60's, 70's music drinking into the early hours for the older ones. Lambros was an excellent host serving shots with every drink (I'm not sure what was in them though). PS. Get some new cushions for next year Thanks Lambros Mark & Dee

Chris A  (07 September 2001)

We love Lambros, his music, his tricks, his shots! many an evening we have chatted to him until 4am lovely man and we will see him next year Yanis, Christina, Ben Hur and Gary Cooper

Swampy T  (18 August 2001)

without doubt the funniest friendlyess nicest host your meet in zante. always has time for you, tells you the best places to visit, and will even lend you his canoe. the bad music just adds to the fun killer hangovers mind going again soon (sorry liver)

Kellie F  (16 August 2001)

Jayne   (06 August 2001)

Stayed in Laganas but were told by friends at home to visit Lambros at the Savoy. What a bloke!! He's such a genial host and you get these killer shots off him when you order your drinks. Lambros makes the Savoy a fab place to chill and have a drink. Oh, watch out for his magic tricks too!!

Danny M  (02 August 2001)

60's, 70's music, with a regular Greek medley, cheap and cold drinks, what more could you want. The owner Lambro is very friendly and is usually a blur of activity. A very small but very nice bar. The only babe was wor lass. She looked good to me. Modesty prevents me talking about the hunk. Danny Mc
