Just got back from Tsilivi and I must say this Taverna was one of my favs. Food was delicious, service was superb, lovely atmosphere. What more do you need?

Ate here on the second night of our holiday. The place was packed which is always a good sign as to the quality of the food. The manager got out his balalika and was accompanied by an accordian player, gave some nice entertainment. All in all a good dining experience and would go back

Visited the Menir in June this year but only had time to go once because there are just sooooo many places to eat in Tsilivi and variety is the spice of life, but had we have had more time, we would definitely have eaten there again.

The waiters are welcoming and the service is efficient. Our meal was very nice indeed, ample portion size and a good price. They even brought us a complimentary carafe of wine when they brought us the bill.

we ate here one night and what a big mistake. The service was apalling. Waited over an hour for the meal and when it arrived it was very plain.

Shame really that first impressions last as it might be an ok restaruant but with other good ones near by we did not want to waste another night at the menir.

Thankyou everyone for the lovely meal we had at Menir's, the food was great as always.  See you all again in October 2007.

Fantastic restaraunt we ate there a few times on our holiday. Never had one bad meal. Leo the one with the long hair ( mentioned in a previous comment ) is a proper gentleman and treats everybody as if they are royalty regardless of age or gender.

We enjoyed everything about Menir.  I am appalled at the comments by becky moore particularly about the waiter with long hair.  If she must be so insulting to her hosts when abroad she should stay at home.  Having seen the picture of her tells me all I need to know about her.  It would also seem that the mediation on this site is not all it might be, because she is then allowed to add three entries about the the same restaurant i.e. Maina.  Two of these entries were irrelavent to any review of the restaurant but registered as positive ratings.

Laura W

This place was fantastic.  We were getting married and had nowhere for our meal.  We came along Menir and had a meal, which i must say was one of the best meals I had whilst on the island.  With just two days remaining to our wedding we asked the manager if he would help us and to our delight he agreed.  When we turned up on the wedding day we were greeted with the most beautiful table arrangment. The staff were a pleasure to be with on our special day.  After a exellent meal we were then surprised to find out that the resturant had arranged live music for our first dance and a seronade, which rounded off a perfect day.  Big thanks to all the staff and managment and we will see you next year. The king prawns were to die for! service was a bit slow, but restaurant was full and what's the rush when you're on holiday?

If you get the chance go on a night when they have the local singers, it's great free entertainment and you can sit there for hours.

Becky M

I went to this restaurant in july wid my family and i have to say the service and food was horrible. the waiters are greasy greeks especially the one with the long hair got to the maina ppl the maina is gr8!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Clair M

Been here twice before and ate et this restaurant every night. we are flying out tomorrow and the reason we are going back to Tsilivi is the restaurant Menir.Nickos and family are so freindly its the highlight of our holiday cant wait . If you havent been too this restaurant you have missed out  its the best by far.

Gill

Just wanted to say , I was wrong about this place !  I didn't understand the language, and made
lots of mistakes . I would do anything to make it better . The best thing about the food is the sweets,
there fantastic !

Irenka C

We had just eaten an awful meal and we were really not happy with it, It was a restaurant at the back of planos beach which is next to the menir call dinosis or something like that, anyway we were walking passed the menir and the man at the door said hello to us and we got talking to him and we was really feriendly so we decided to eat there the next night, and he was still really friendly, but not over friendly, he recomended some local wine and it was lovely.

We has a mixed starter for two and it was good, onion rings, cheese pies they were fantastic, cheese balls, meat balls. And for our main we has a beef stifago? and it was really nice, the meat was so tender it melted in your mouth. The price was also good.

Gill V

I'm missing this place very much ! The food is great , the only - hot cappuccino in

Zante. Something to mail home about !

Denise J

Lovely restaurant.  Would do anything for you - would find a table for you even if you had to wait 10 minutes.  Very popular place. Made you feel welcome, especially Illios. Tried various meals while there and could not find fault with any of them.  In fact all the staff we lovely and friendly.

Pauline B

Have been coming to tsilivi for none years, This taverna opened 5 years ago, the best food in tsilivi. We have just come back ate there most nights, does a great fillet a la creme. Hi to Nikos, Mari, Leo and your other waiter can't remember his name., and all your chefs. See you again in Sept

Allan C

Our party of 4 adults found this place toward the end of our holiday. I wish we had found it earlier. Really comfortable and friendly eating house. Its a little bit off the main street, down at  the bottom of the street opposite the Mediterranean Hotel, (2 minutes), but worth looking for.

Deanna B

We ate at a different place each night but on our last night we decided to go to our favorite, and this was it. Having been at Tsivili for two weeks we had tried alot of places but this was a really nice place food excellent

Gill V

This tavern has a lovely relaxed atmosphere , really friendly service. Food very good ,
with a varied choice , but could do with an extra butter knife .
I loved Menir !

Anne H

We loved the food, and the prices were very good. Just an improvement of the service and everithing would be perfect!

Pauline B

Cant think why this restaurant has a poor score. Nikos, his wife and staff are very friendly. food is very good. We have been coming here for 3 years and will be back again on the 24th June

Otilia K

We had a very nice dinner (seafood was really tasteful)! The service was excellent and the prices very reasonable. Thank you Nick!

Chris W

This restaurant provides good meals at a cheap price. Probably best for lunch rather than an evening meal. The service can be very slow in the evenings, but the owner does his best to entertain.

Mary-anne W

We came here for lunch one day, and we would not go back. The food was greasy, unappetizing and tasteless. The service was ok, but the waitress was a bit grumpy. The price however was very reasonable.

Garry T

Nice tavern, excellent food and wine. Nicos with his bouzouki is making a greate atmosphere. Thank you Nikos and Zoi, see you next summer again!

Jim D

lovely place to eat on the way down to the beach, try the fillet steak, superb, all staff very friendly.

Susan W

Back three times this year. The first meal (seafood) was a bit dissapointing but the other two were back to normal. Very good food and value.

Robert C

We came here twice, the first time enjoyed it, the second not.

Angelika W

Excellent Food I eat here every night. Service is also good, and Nikos is a real friend. Very good prices!!!

Lorraine P

although we know nikos the service was very very slow, and then the food was not that brilliant, sorry nikos wont be coming again!!!!!

Melissa O

Food was very good, ate here 3 times. service was a bit slow, but i suppose this is the greek way! we can recommend the menir chicken special, lovely!! very well priced meals and drinks. even if they're busy they will find a table from some where and squeeze you in.

Andrew S

Not one of our favourites, suckered into coming in without checking out first, live and learn.

Keith & Sally

We did a tour of 'genuine' Greek restaurants too, and this one got a favoured return visit. Daily specials dsiplayed on board outside. We had Stifado, Lemon Chicken, both good. Kleftiko was bit dry, better at Tsilivi taverna (we're being picky here). Gets busy. Perhaps better to go later (9-9.30) and be a second shift eater if you can. If full keep walking to the Korali.

Julia W

We wanted to try a different Taverna every night, but found we just had to go back to this on our last night, as it was nicest Taverna we visited. Very pleasent and relaxed, unlike Manos which we found far to busy and squashed in. The food was very well presented and tasty.

Harald W

the best restaurant in tsilivi

Freya H

Very nice tavern with really great atmosphere ,excellent food, wonderfull staff, always inviting us for drinks:).Nicos the owner is really funny and always tries to keep you happy.gave me a free cd the last evening.thanks
