Hayley S

Got back yesterday from Laganas it was amazing! but so you all know everything is closing down within the next week or so and it was getting pretty quiet when we left, all the reps and workers are leaving around the 20th and half the clubs are closing this week! there were a few that were closed already when we was there! so anyone going end of september you may have to make your own entertainment coz it is going to be dead! x

Emily C

going to Laganas 9th - 16th September, been before 2 years ago in August, hope it is just as hot! :) cannot wait!

Hannah E

does anyone know if zante will be busy with young people mid september to end???

Lou H          6/10

me and my friends come back from holiday the other week for the first two weeks of september. Its still really hot around that time and the kids are back to school! We noticed it were full of couples around that time so perfect for a break away...Probably wouldnt go back in september as the bars started to quieten down and the weather werent too great for sunbathin around the 20th of september. Things seemed alot cheaper though and you didnt have to wait hours to get a drink!

Yvonne M          3/10

If you go in Spetember make sure you go the first 2 weeks, the rain & thunder storms usually start mid month. Fourth time going to Laganas in September, although the older generation usually go at that time of year, there are no bars that cater for us, if you ask for 70's music they wont play it. They also try and rip you off with drink prices same as they do the youngsters in peak season. 3 euro's for a small beer, upto 6 euro's for a cocktail. Beware of the prices in the cigarette shops they are no cheaper than the duty free at the airport, with airlines cutting luggage allowance better to buy at the airport.

Sue F

We found September was a good month to visit as not too hot but still good enough to get a tan! We only had one windy day and a couple of hours rain during one night.

Ashleigh           10/10

we went 2nd - 9th sept, was gorgeous weather apart from 1day it rained from bout 9am - 4pm but would deffo go again in sept!

Steve U

We went to Tsilivi from 24th Sept untill the 1st Oct and we had brilliant weather. Had a storm one day but it only lasted for 20 minutes or so then because of the heat it dried in like 5 minutes then was hot for like ever. The kids (6 year old twins) enjoyed every second of the holiday. They joined the kids club at Planos Bay Apartments so congratulations to Stacey, Emma, Hayley and Linzi from First Choice who did a wonderful job. Also to Michael and Dmitri, Planos Bay entertainers who did a wonderful job too.

September is a good time to visit Zante,as the temprature is still hot,but it is not too crowded as it is towards the end of the season.
We went in the middle two weeks of September, and although a couple of resturants had shut down for the season by the end of our first week, there are still plenty of  places to go and eat..
We went to different resturants there every night during our two weeks, apart from a couple of resturants which we visited twice.

Irene

We went to Tsilivi from 10th-24th September.  First week brilliant sunshine, second week little bit more cloudy.  Rain only happened for about half an hour on 2 days and about 10 minutes another. Rained at night, but let's face it, that's the best time for it!  Apart from that still hot - didn't need a jacket on the whole fortnight - normally need one most evenings in September!  Was able to sunbathe every day.

Oh and by the way we had a couple of earthquakes - one at 11-30pm on the first Saturday (missed that one - must have been drunk by then  )!!!  Felt the one on the Monday at 8pm though - but it only lasted a few seconds.

Talking to some of the locals (English and Greek) seems the weather and earthquakes can be completely different from one resort to the other!

Having said all that, had a great holiday once again and would definitely go back.

Gary A

stayed from 17th to 24th sept and we had average weather cloudy every day (apart from last day, typically!!) with showers on and off mostly every day, we did have some nice afternoons by the pool where it was hot, but all in all the weather was average. but we didn't let it spoil the holiday!

Ian A

My wife Rose and I went from 3/9/06-17/9/06, the weather was perfect, hot and sunny, and lovely and warm in the evenings, couple of days started cloudy but as soon as the sun was up, it burnt away the clouds, then hot hot hot!!

Jelly K

We stayed between the 10-17 Sept n it was really hot every day - in the 30's!  A few of the days it started off cloudy but it soon burnt off!  Also we didnt see any kids (not english anyway!!) so perfect if you want a kid free holiday as theyve all gone back to school at this time!

Malc L

Just come back from a week at Alykes. Weather was perfect. Hot but not uncomfortably so ( 28 to33) Nights warm but not "sweaty"TEMPERATURE wise I mean!!

Anne S

There are two on the main bit where all the shops and bars are.Have been 4 times to Kalamaki and only in early May have been empty sometimes. We went to Laganas which is 20mins walk so dont worry. We are going next weekend so fingers crossed.

Irene

Hazel

Just in case you haven't already left for your holiday, I think you should be ok!  From memory most places have ramps outside (fortunately it's not something we have needed so like most of us in that situation we haven't really taken too much notice) . You might have a problem with actually getting in to some of the shops though, as some of them are quite small inside and they always seem to have a lot of stock taking up the little space that is there!  The supermarkets are quite spacious.  Hope this helps.

Hazel T

we are off to tsilivi at the end of august and our daughter uses a wheelchair. Is there easy acess to shops and resturants?

Paul M

We did Sept 28th to Oct 12th in 2004 and are going for same this year- we had 2 glorious weeks and ended up staying an extra day when sever storms delayed our flight home- 2 weeks was glorious though- sea still nice and warm- sun great for tanning but not too hot and everything still open- what more do you want? have been in June and it was way too hot n humid..Sept/early Oct for me!!

Tracy+dean G

stayed at kalamaki 3 years ago but in june stayed in kalamaki this year in september the weather was the same hot hot hot . If your wanting to see the turtles best time to go is between june till august .

Jean C

This is probably one of the best months to visit Zakynthos.  Even Laganas is loads different.  More age groups of people.   Mind you lots of changes happening their anyway the rumours going round r  NO Falaraki in the form of Laganas on Zakynthos. Big clean up and out .

Those of you returning will be please to here the new airport terminal is open (arrivals).  2 conveyor belts (big ones)  so hopefully the days of waiting sometimes 2 hrs for your luggage on a Sunday or Thursday will be alot better,  Its also fully air conditioned.

Sue S

Going back to Zante for another September holiday.  Weather still hot (hopefully!) and resorts and beaches less crowded.  Last time had airport to hotel transfer included in price.  This time it isn't.  Does anyone know where I can book a decent transfer at a good price.  Will be staying in Vasilikas.

Jean C

Add your comment herJust got back was slightly red hot 38 in the shade 40+ on beachGOOD NEWS  everybody on a return visit will be pleased to know the NEW ARRIVALS TERMINAL at the Airport is open.  HOORAY.  Two conveyorbelts NO MORE 2 hour waits for luggage for those of you that arrive on the really busy days of Sunday & Thursday and whats more it's fully air-conditioned (we nearly fainted) not with heat but SHOCK..  After 12 years of the hussle & bussle of the old terminal this Ultra Modern building is open.  MIND YOU it is not finished yet but is still massive improvement.

Emma L

nightlife is jus right in sept weather is mint too bin in the katerina b4 n it seems nice if nightlife woz crap in sept i wouldnt b goin but iv bin a few times in sept n i loved it mite cu there

Alison W

We have stayed at the Katerina Palace three times in September, once in May and this year we are going in June.

September in Argassi is good, the hotel is just right - you can get a sunbed at any time of the day without putting towels down.

It isn't too crowded in resort and you get served very promptly in restaurants and bars

The weather has always been kind, you may get a little cloud and a spot or two of rain but nothing to worry about.  Temperatures are just right in the high 20s

Katerina herself is a great host and will make sure your stay is enjoyable.

Enjoy your stay!!

Kal

me and my girlfriend went to laganas 21/9/04 - 27/09/04 and stayed at mon repos. weather was brilliant not too hot but hot enough for us to get a good tan!! on one night we had a fantastic lightnening show, no thunder or rain just one massive cloud with lightening bolts coming out of the top and side of it!! mon repos is a great place to stay if you want a nice basic place with a good pool. it was always very clean with very friendly staff especially sakis and tonya behind the bar and nikos during the day was a right laugh.
september is definatley for the couples and for those who dont like it crowded. it is also very cheap (200 greek fags for £6).
i definatley reccommend sept and i am going back 2005 might see you there!!!

Clare W

Stayed 27/9 - 4/10 - weather was great all week. I'm not a sun worshipper so enjoyed the mid 70's temperature to be able to explore the island in comfort.

Fannie

September is a great month to go to Zante, arrived in the beginning of September and the weateher were excellent all week.
Guess we'll be coming back next year, but then maybe sometime in May or June. Think it will be even more fun there then, and even more people!

Janice R

in alykes 23/9 to 30/9/04..weather was changeable throughout the week..sunny/cloudy and stormy..a mixed bag really..the temp probably between 25 to 28 depending if cloudy or sunny..suited us as we dont like it really hot..so if you are like us it is a nice time to go..all the bars and restaurants still open..airport on arrival great as cases came thru straight away but going back had to wait outside for 1 and half hrs before getting into terminal and once checked in had to queue outside again to get back inside for passport control..were then rushed thru whilst still in queue as flight was boarding!!!!!!!!nightmare!!!!!!!!!!

Nikki K

September is a great time to go. Lovely hot days and nice cool evenings. On a couple of evenings it was a bit windy but overall perfect weather.

Adam R

my girlfriend and i went on the 5th of sept. the weather was nice and warm all week. it did rain very heavily one night but apart from that i would recommend sept to go away. be a lot cheaper than june, july and august

Katie A

Just got back from a week in tsilivi, the weather was really good, nice and hot, no rain at all and a bit cooler at night

Sue S

Things much quieter in September. Bit breezy down on the beaches in the afternoon and can be cool in the evenings, but still hot during the day. We still saw a couple of turtles. Perfect time to go. Made no difference at the airport though, that's still a ruddy nightmare, but our flight left 20 minutes early so that was a real bonus!

Dave C

Me an my cousin have booked the 19th as well, went there last year and had a superb time. The weather is still very hot in the day, and at night theres a nice gentle breeze, lets you sleep very well.

What more can i say? Laganas is the best greek island ive been to so far, and what with the busy year ive had at work, im making a point of doing absolutely NOTHING but drinking and having fun. SEE U THERE! X X

Lydia M

the weather was perfect, hot but with a bit of a breeze and cooled down in the evening so you could get a decent nights sleep! there were hardly any mozzies! the resorts were still up and running but quieter!

Pard 4

Just got back - good time to go - weather is hot. Not too busy in the resturants either so you get good service and are not rushed.

Anita B

We went the last two weeks in September last year and had beautiful weather. The evenings start to cool off around 9.00 pm. We took cardigans and light jackets but never needed them. We found everywhere fairly reasonable and there are enough shops and restaurants to shop around if you need to.

Natalie M

If anyone is wondering about the weather in Zante in september my parents have been twice ad say the weather is gorgeous and on sky travel weather its saying that its to be between 28 and 32 degrees .I was wondering if on any of the boat trips you ever see dolphins as i love them and apperently there are lots in the water around the greek islands

Michelle O

I went with 8 friends last August, we arrived back early Sept. It was red hot, the main strip was full of people, we seen turtles, it was hard to find one, just be patient. I am goin back with 7 others this September, cant wait!

Dave M

what about the last two week in september are there still plenty of place still open and are the round the island trips still operating

Lesley B

oh and everything is still open

Lesley B

we like the first two weeks of september almost as much as when we go in june, weather is usually good, nice and warm, but a little cooler at night which makes it a little more comfortable for sleeping, might get a thunderstorm (which are spectacular but dont last long) and might get an earth tremor, (something to tell people on your return)

Peter H

Going to laganas in early september, will it still be lively? Will all the clubs/bars/restaurants still all be open? Any help would be very much appreciated.

Eileen N

could anyone tell me about weather and prices
of food, drink.first two weeks of september
please.

Leanne F

Weather was nice and Argassi was quite busy when we arrived 25/09/03 but by the time we left 10/10/03 lots of places had closed for the season, we could see how much quieter resort was and was glad we hadn't left it any later. Restaurants were closing hand over fist and weather really was much cooler towards the end of our holidays.
Although there were loads of bargains to be had.
I would not go in October, but definately would do September again.

Kate D

Zante is a beautiful island, great secenery, beaches etc. We stayed in the Sirocco Hotel in Kalamaki, nice, but staff unfriendly and we both got ear infections from the dirty water in the pool . the beach in kalamaki is fantastic. would recommend the boat trip around the island but we got stranded for almost 4 hours because our boat broke down and it was a nightmare in the heat. The jeep safari was great fun, but completley over priced,we paid for a 10 hour safari and it lasted 4, do not get the video, we paid $18 for a BLANK video of our trip.We went to see the ship wreck, the colour of the water was out of this world, Overall it is a lovely island, like everywhere look out for the scam artists, the restaurants were great especially the ones on Laganas beach. It was a nice time of year to go, quieter maybe than peak season, but make sure you get to see the island, preferably by renting a car and going yourself, a much cheaper option! and after all that we never got to see any turtles..........wonder if there is any there at all??

Michelle D

Just returned from 2 weeks of glorious sun. The temperature was soaring into the 90's each day. We travelled on the 14 September and stayed at the Achillion Apartments in Amoudi. FANTASTIC.

Leon S

Hello Liz Green I was out in Zante from the 12th- 19th september.
Where you out there with club 18-30??

Amanda B

2 cloudy rainy days out of 7 which was good going.... BUT all the pubs and clubs were fairly empty - found the best bet was to follow the pub crawls as they filled the bars up!

Liz G

I absolutly loved it, we stayed in Hotel Margarita. It was brilliant! The best holiday ever. The people who were there at the same time were amazing!!! Get in contact if you were there from the 9th Sept 2003 - the 18th sept 2003!!!!

Liz
from Essex

Paul & Sam

Stayed from 4th Sept for two weeks in Kalamaki. Bit disappointed with only 8 clear days of sunshine but gave us a chance to explore and there was enough to see to keep us occupied.

Karen F

We went for one week from 21.09.03. We stayed at Yakinthos Apartments in Laganas which was family run, and they were lovely. It was very hot during the day, esp between 1pm and 4pm. Some days had a nice cooling breeze. What did surprise us was how chilly it was at night, but the cocktails keep you warm! There were alot of couples, not too many familys and also groups of friends. We really enjoyed our holiday and would recommend it to everyone.

Marcus L

AS WITH ALOT OF PEOPLE I ALSO WAS WONDERING WHAT THE WEATHER WAS GOING TO BE LIKE IN SEPTEMBER. I HAVE JUST RETURNED (28/09/03) FROM A WEEK IN LAGANAS, EVERYDAY WAS 30c PLUS, WITH A SLIGHT BREEZE ON THE BEACH. I WAS TOLD THAT 2 WEEKS EARLIER ZANTE HAD SEEN SOME BAD WEATHER BUT NO SIGN OF ANYTHING BUT LOVELY SUNSHINE WHEN I WAS THERE. MY ADVICE WOULD BE TO TAKE A HIGH FACTOR AMD LOOK FORWARD TO A FANTASTIC SUN TAN.......ENJOY!

Christopher D

We just returned 25/9 from a week the weather was superb totally cloudless skies all week with temperatures up to 30c during the day the evenings were a little cooler than in July/August but comfortable We were in Kalamaki which was very quiet mostly couples & a few families very relaxing great. Went to Laganas during one day which is like Blackpool on the Med didn't like it I should imagine that is very busy during the peak season

Ben V

I was in Argassi with my girlfriend from 18-25th September. Dont come in September if you want a mad nightlife as it is a bit quiet and very coupley, not too many children though as the little darlings are back at school (or bloody should be!). The weather is great, although the evenings can get quite cool so dont just bring shorts.

Lindon C

Chris S

Just back after 2 weeks and the first week was a disaster weather wise. So bad our hotel room was flooded 2 nights. 2nd week weather was beautiful. Lovely island.

Steve M

Very good............. For those that understand this.....not too many "sausage egg and chips" and "here we go'ers". For those that are about to visit...learn some of the basic greek words. It shows that good manners cost nothing. Zakynthos Town is a good shopping centre. Eat where the locals eat. Very good local food markets.
