Tsilivi Resort - (Resorts in Zante)

Staying at the Zante Star in Tsilivi in May. Anyone know anything about the place? Its fairly new and there doesn't seem to be much info around. Any info on general welcome as well. Whats the weather like in May? We are there for 14 days with a 2 year old so any sightseeing recommendations? Child friendly places to eat etc... Thanks

Dissapointed with this. Everyone raved about it but the staff were all miserable and the food was average.

Just returned from 2 weeks at the Zante Star. First impression was that it was miles out of town. Truth is, it's not that bad and you should soon learn that its preferable to staying in the centre of the village given all the construction going on and the amount of traffic. All the staff are fantastic, as is Louis the dog. Place is spotless and the food is good. Nice big pool, plenty of loungers, bar open until 1:30, decent rooms. Recommend it. Yannis and Tracey are the owners and they are really helpful. Irina the bar maid is a babe.

Just returned from 2 weeks (4th - 18th May). Had a really good time, there was me, my wife and 2 year old daughter. Not a great deal to do with a 2 year old but quite a few pubs have play areas (Moby Dicks was v. popular with her). Quite a lot of construction going on around the place so be prepared for HGVs squeezing past you. Most restaurants are great and I agree with most of the comments posted on the section for them. Recommend you get a car to see the rest of the island. Go up to the lighthouse and take a 1/2 hour round trup to see the blue caves. Fantastic spot up there, with the boats engine turned off it is really the quietest place I have ever been. One word of warning, crime. We heard of 3 seperate incidents just of people in our hotel who had thier bag snatched, were flashed, and had an attempted mugging. My advice, be wary of scooters buzzing past you on the quiet roads, keep your valuables hidden and don't walk alone. Taxis are cheap enough so if in doubt get one. It was still a great holiday though, excellent weather and really relaxing. Enjoy.
