Castaways - (Restaurants in Argassi)

The first night we went here the meal was great. However we went back. Big mistake, there was a scotish waitress, blonde with freckles....she was so rude and ignorant towards us. She did not offer us drinks and basically grunted sarcastically at us. The rest of the staff were really friendly. I cannot understand why she was so rude to us. Dont bother with the 8oz Steak as 4oz of it was fat. With respect the lamb steak and mustard mash on the first night was fantastic.

Wonderful service, great food, great karaoke and amazing selection of songs. The staff were lovely. Would recommend this place. Fantastic sunday roast, went back the following week for it. We kept going back here in the day and at night. Such a huge selection of food on the menu.

Oh my goodness. What a hell hole. The staff were dire, didn't even make eye contact with us. The food was the pits. They tried to redeem themselves at the end by giving out a free shot with the bill (tip please!!!). Awful.

I agree that they are very friendly when getting you in. Once inside they try to rush you. Daytime was better for service. My partner had roast chicken which came with potatoes in a garlic sauce, this was really nice.It was just a bit off putting when they were rushing me into choosing my meal.

Food was good, service was sarcastic. One of the few places with a service/cover charge (18%).

Zakantha Hotel - (Accommodation in Argassi)

Stayed here in June. Really nice hotel and excellent staff. Danny the oz man on reception was very friendly. Location was fantastic, close to everything however it was not noisy. Rooms cleaned every day and linen and towels changed every day too. The hotel is situated on the best part of Argassi beach. The snack bar was pricey for drinks though - 2 euros for one can of coke, you can get 4 cans for about the same price directly across the road. Breakfast was actually quite nice, I was not expecting it to be after reading some reviews.

A quick message to Ian Thompsett - May I point out that my review was an honest opinion of our meal, not 'Hate Mail'. Whether the Scottish Waitress is your friend or not, she gave poor service and ruined our meal. With regards to others' reviews posted on this site I have not conspired with anybody but am glad to hear I am not alone in my bad experience. In terms of being able to do her job - I did do this job in a top London restaurant for 5 years...with a smile!!!
Brainless you say ??? Try using a spell-checker!!! To everybody else wanting an honest UNBIASED opinion - DO NOT GO THERE.

Reply to Stephen - He charged us 7 euros for a pint and a half of Mythos!!!

Wasn't exactly busy in there so maybe it was to make the night's takings up.
