Alykanas Beach Hotel - (Accommodation in Alykanas)

We have just returned from the Alykanas Beach apartments, and really enjoyed it. It is ideal for couples and families wanting a relaxing holiday with plenty to do. The apartments themselves were very clean, towels were changed every other day. Apartment cleaned every day. The swimming pool was more of a place for those with young kids and families. For peace and quiet I suggest the beach with is literally on the dorr step for the Alykanas Beach. It is ver close by to the Alykanas Beach village - a different complex, but I beieve they were built around the same time. There is a snack bar on site which is very good in terms of cost and quality. They serve all day breakfasts which is great if you cant be bothered buying stuff from the local shops. The apartments are a 5 minute walk away from the main street where you will find plenty of briliant restaurants. All in all the Alykanas Beach Apartments are highly reccommended, I would definately go back.. My only criticism, and this is if I am being really picky, is two nights of awful Karoake is a bit much!!!!!

Sorry forgot to add from my last post, the apartment was lovely and clean, balcony included. You do have to pay for air conditioning which I reccommend you do as its a godsend!!! No kettle in our room, but just filled up bottled water and put in in a pan for cuppas. Bathroom lovely and clean too - there was a shower curtain and the shower was lovely and powerful. Entertainment on a night was okay - brilliant if you had kids. Lots of sun loungers with umbrellas and lots on the beach too!!! The sea was right on the door step and that was grand too!!!!

Blue Caves and Shipwreck Cruise - (Zante Excursions)

Rachel M

We booked this trip through our Kosmar rep at the Alykanas Beach Apartments. They take you on a bus to the port, pile loads of you on a boat, and then take you on a whole day tour around the island, stopping at the blue caves and the ship wreck. There wa a snack bar on board which served limited food, although they did do a nice fruit salad. I think we pais about £20 each for this trip - there was lots of chances to jump off the baot and into the sea. Not sure it was worth the money though, but filled a day!!! Did not see any turtles!!!

Greek Night - (Zante Excursions)

Rachel M

Hi we booked this night through our rep. It was about £40 each and was held at St Nicholas' beach which was a gorgeous beach. They take you down on a coach, give you a free t shirt, give you loads of free strong wine, eat as much as you want from the bbq, and then put on a few hours entertainment. Wasnt worth the money but was a good laugh!!!

Water Village - (Places to Visit in Zante)

Rachel M

We booked this excursion through our rep, and although I had a hangover, i really enjoyed it, we are a young couple, and i think if you had kids this would be a great day out, there are loads and loads of sunbeds to lie about on for the parents, and loads of water slides for the kids and 'big' kids to play on. There are about 8 or 9 water slides, but the queues for them are very long but only for the slides that you need inflatable for, the other slided there was only a 5 minute wait in peak time, maybe thats why it had had bad reviews on here. There is a couple of snack bars for eats and drinks but no main pool to swim in.....but then again it is a water park not a swimming pool. If you want to swim and chill stay by the pool in your hotel. If you want a laugh and a giggle go here!! Queues for snack bars were long too. Plenty of shade, and Ipersonally would give it 8/10.

Me and my husband really enjoyed this restaurant, the food was exvcellent and so was the service!! Really cheaply priced too. Food was excellent! Well worth a visit here. Dont go if you dont like stary cats and kittens hanging around you!!!!

Poseidon - (Restaurants in Alykanas)

Rachel M  (25 August 2004)

Yes, I can see why it only got 2/10!!!! It was okay, but there are much nicer restaurants in the main street, try Dionnis, or Greedy Greek!!! This was boring and bland, and had no atmosphere!
