we booked our tour with peter on main street argasi, cost 89euros each,
stayed at the athens gate hotel, breath taknig views from the roof garden at night see both the acropolis and the temple of zeus, stopped twice on the way to athens one at a service station for breakfast and the second at the corinth canal, (wonder of the world) it was amazing. once at the hotel we got 2 hours to freshen up and visit the temple of zeus across the road cost 2euros. then our guide Costas took us on a trip aroud the plaka (Old town)then once again 2 hours shopping time. then it was onto the greek night resturant cost extra 26euros meal was not very good but great atmosphere.
late night followed by early morning wake up at 6am to take a bus tour of the city then on to the acropolis, cost 9 eruos free if under 19 students and oaps 1/2 price. spent two hoiurs here could have sopent the day. you cant use a flash inside the museum so take a disposable camera if you cant turn your flash off. was really good inside.. dont forget the suncream as its very hot outside museum was air conditioned tho.. on the way back home we stopped off at petras to see the patriot saint of scotlands church, inside was excellent well worth a visit. overall very good trip worth every penny.. one tip tho dont sit in the window seats at the front upstairs in the coach very warm !!!!!!
overall they were their when you needed them rep could be foung at the pool bar most days, dont book any tours through them tho as their cheaper on the street, and dont go on the bar crawl not very good!
we took in the sunset the night before we flew home. not to be missed. sun starts to set around 2030 till 2125 get there early very romantic...
very quiet but what do you expect nice tho!!!
well worth the trip hire a car and take in the lighthouse at the very northen point too. platform looks dodgey but its ok if you take care, excelent views ideal pics to remember hol by..
was a great day out but one tip dont get drunk the night before...
3-4 swimming stops, shipwreck beach is very stoney take flip flops!!!!!
we booked this trip through peter in argasi, and had marvelous time crossing the ionion sea takes an hour and 15 mins then a bus trip of about another hour to the Olympic site. you visit the "Olympic site" the first one of all time!!! then on to the museum. Each has an small additional charge about 2euros (kids under 18 go free) and if you pay for both the museum and the site at the same time you get a slight discount. The on site guide was fantastic, with loads and loads of info. All in all the trip was brilliant....... if the guide says NO FLASH PHOTOGRAPHY in the museum, please do as he/she asks, High intensity flash light will damage the statues in the long term, so respect what you are looking at. Just turn the flash off on your camera there is enough room lighting for the pictures to still come out clear enough.... or just sneak one.... very interesting day
never took the glass bottomed boat, but still saw loads of turtles about 5... swimstops were good too... cost 15euros with peter in argasi.. hes the man...!
very good rate in most shops between 1.49 and 1.53 when we were there...
temp was in the 40'S no clouds just hot hot hot
we found a great little spot noone else could lydown if you were there before them... opposite the gazebo inn on the beach there are some steps by an unused shop there some rocks leading into the sea here theres a small trianglular bit of sand perfect for anything really!!!!
