Friends Bar - (Bars in Tsilivi)

Emma R  (22 June 2005)

An amazing bar, definately the best in Tsilivi. If you go to Tsilivi on holiday make sure you check this out, you'll be made to feel so welcome whether you go once or many times!

Yannis and Ilia are crazy and will entertain you all night long, and Thespina is absoloutly lovely. Couldn't have asked for nicer hosts!

If you go make sure you try a Strawberry Lady but get Yannis to make it, the amount of alcohol Ilia puts in spoils the taste a little but gets you wrecked! Also of course my favourite personal cocktail is 69 on the beach lol, sex on the beach without the vodka!

Can't wait to go back (have only just left lol) and fingers crossed will be seeing them again in September.

Love "Emma Thompson" and "Mark Klein" XXX

Zante Star Hotel - (Accommodation in Tsilivi)

Emma R

An excellent hotel, the apartments were spotless and cleaned every single day (normally between about 12 and 2pm) and bed linen and towells changed twice a week. Plus toliet roll is provided throughout your stay instead of just at the start which makes a nice change in greece so need to bring some in your suitcase.

Rooms are lovely, and we stopped in a double (which actually had a double bed rather than 2 singles which was lovely) and there was also a sofa which pulled out to make another double bed. As you walk into the room your come into the kitchen, with the bathroom off to the right and also an area just past the kitchen with the sofa. Then in a seperate room is the main bedroom and leading off that is the balconey with a table and 4 chairs. Not the largest rooms in the world but more than adequate for what we needed but i could imagine it may be a little cramped if 4 people were stopping in there.

The other big plus is, that unlike most self catering accomodation the kitchen has everything in it, 4 plates, 4 bowls, 4 mugs, 4 cups, 4 sets of cuttelry etc etc. Not that we did much cooking, after all who wants to cook on holiday!

Yannis and the two Ireana's (the two girls behind the bar) and wonderful and do everything to make your stay enjoyable. Yannis is very proud of his hotel and keeps the communal areas looking lovely, and soon has a word with anyone disturbing other guests (yes both kids and adults coming home in the early hours... LOL). The pool is lovely and while we were there (05.06.05 til 19.06.05) there was more than enough sun loungers to go around. The pool is wonderfully clean and has a gorgeous view across the hills and olive groves especially when sitting at the top end.

The entertainment is good as well, the greek night is a good laugh with nice food but beware that they won't take no for an answer when they get everyone dancing! The pool competition is good fun and the quiz night is a laugh, especially the races part (especially when Yannis gets you to be the jockey like he did with me!).

All in all we couldn't have asked for a better place to stay and met some great people, especially Nicole and Lee. Hopefully we'll be back for a week in september or if not next year!

And make sure you say hello to Mikki for us! X

And to the person who asked about A/C, no the apartments don't have it but you can hire a fan from reception which is great for when it gets a bit too hot to be comfortable. Just open the doors but leave the mozzie screens shut and turn the fan on and you'll be fine!

excuse me was that comment aimed at me? i never said a bad word about yannis in my comments! all i said was that he has a word with people who are making trouble for other guests, like children running up and down the corridors shouting!

Zante Star Hotel - (Accommodation in Tsilivi)

there was no one called tracey while we were there. there was yannis and the two girls behind the bar who were both calle irena.

what did tracey do? we were there in june and there was no one called tracey working there then. only other person was yannis wife/partner (cant remember which) but we never saw her and yannis said she is quiet ill at the moment and spends a lot of time in bed. cant remember what he said her name was though.

lol sorry about that! but have just gone back and read her comments and i cant believe what she said. yannis was a perfect host and tried his best to please everyone who was staying there. there were several different families with children while we stopped there and he was wonderful with all the children. yes he would say something if they were making a nuisence of themselves such as running about the corridors making noise or hogging the pool table after their game had finished and other people wanted to play on it etc. but i would expect i good host to say something when things like this are happening.

i can only think she is the type of person who takes exception to anyone criticising her kids in any way at all.

also her comments about the rooms are completely unjustified. yes the rooms are not the biggest you around but they are certainly not as small as she makes out. they are certainly big enough for what you need, and who on earth spends a lot of time in their rooms when they are on holiday. at the end of the day you do not pay a lot of money to go on this holiday, and its true you get what you pay for. in my opinion for the amount the holiday costs you get above and beyond what you'd expect.

also the apartments do have a kettle in them now but there is still no toaster.

and on a final note, i think the rating this hotel has (10/10) speaks for itself.

Faulty Towers - (Restaurants in Tsilivi)

Emma R  (02 August 2005)

what a great place. we stopped at the zante star so was in the perfect position for us to make the treck when we were feelings a bit worse for wear in the mornings.

the full breakfasts are spot on, just what you need in the morning and best of all its proper english sausages rather than the "hot dogs" you normally get in greece. also, if you don't like anything they're more than happy to give you something else instead. i didnt like the bacon so they were more than happy to give me a couple of extra sausages with my full breckie.

lovely food, lovely couple, you couldnt ask for more.

Majestic - (Restaurants in Tsilivi)

Emma R

the food here was great and the prices are so cheap. definately the cheapest place we ate while in tsilivi. however there was a long wait to get the food but we went at a very busy time (most of the tables were full) so that was to be expected. lovely food though so it was worth the wait.

Olive Tree - (Restaurants in Tsilivi)

Emma R

really lovely food here, the pasta is spot on. really lovely fresh pasta and sauce was really tasty, full of fresh ingredients.

whoever commented that the food was below par must have been eating somewhere else! i couldn't fault the food!

Popeyes - (Restaurants in Tsilivi)

Emma R

had a nice meal here but wouldn't say its the best in tsilivi. however the food was very nice and arrived fairly quickly.

also you get a complementory shot after you're meal (of a hat/t shirt for the kiddies) which was quiet a nice way to start the nights drinking lol. and all those people we saw pulling a real face when they drank the shot it aint that bad! its hardly alcoholic lol. if you want something bad try an aftershock or absynthe lol!

Balcony Restaurant - (Restaurants in Tsilivi)

Emma R

cant really comment on the food as we stopped here after a day out exploring the island in the jeep and only got a drink and ice cream sundae. however the view was amazing, we went as the sun was setting and is definately one of those most have photo oportunities as the sun sets right over tsilivi bay and restuarant overlooks this.

was definately worth going just to get that photo of the sun setting!
