Hi Spiros and Jo - remember us? Gary, Jo, Charlotte and Joseph (rooms 107 and 108).We had a nightmare overnight delay coming home last week (21st Aug), but that didn't change our minds about Zante.  We had a great holiday and met some brilliant people (remember the people from Liverpool in 301!)  Everyone made us all so welcome that we didn't want to leave.  You never know, we might just see you all next year!  Hope the rest of the season goes well for you all.

Zakfari Jeep Safari - (Zante Excursions)

Johanne D  (02 September 2005)

I would definately recommend this trip.  We went on 'Stone Throwers Day' (12th August) and loved it.  We got to see lots of the island that we wouldn't of seen otherwise. My son Joseph (12) was keen to go 'off road' and certainly enjoyed the rough ride up to the top of the island.  The food at the lunchtime taverna was basic but okay.  The walk along the cliffs to view the shipwreck was lovely although my nerves got the better of me looking over the edge!  The island we went to to look for turtles (we saw one by the way) was beautiful, I could have stayed there all day.  If you decide to swim in the little bay at the end of the trip, take Simons advice and remove any silver jewellery - mine was completely black when I came out of the sea after only 20 minutes.  Our driver Peter was great and knew loads of interesting things about Zante.

Tsilivi Resort - (Resorts in Zante)

We went to Zante for the first time last year with a 15 year old and a 12 year old.  It was great because the nightlife was there if you wanted it, but there were quieter places to go too. There are so many restaurants on the main road through the town that you wont have to eat in the same place twice if you don't want to.  We found one Restaurant that we all really liked and ate there a few times, but tried lots of the others aswell. It is very easy to stay round the pools, but the beach is lovely - especially early in the morning and late in the afternoon.  I sometimes used to leave everyone round the pool and walk down there by myself for some peace and quiet.  Get onto the beach and turn left if you want watersports and people, turn to the right and walk along as far as you can and you will find a lovely Greek run cafe right at the end of the beach.  Not many Brits seemed to make the walk, but to sit 2 metres from the lapping sea with a coffee/glass of wine was bliss. We loved Zante and will definately go back sometime, I would like to have a look a some of the other islands too though - there are just so many to choose from!  I hope anyone going this year has a great time. I have just remembered the name of the Restaurant that we went back to about 4/5 times - it was Pieros - the staff were lovely and the menu was huge and everything we tried was brilliant.

We were in Zante last August for 2 weeks and ate at Pieros 4 or 5 times. It was excellent everytime.  Try it out

Water Village - (Places to Visit in Zante)

Johanne D

We went by bus to the water park in August last year with another family we had met - we had a great day - kids ages 11, 12, 13 and 15 loved it. The place is small enough that they were able to go off by themselves, but the slides and stuff were enough for them (and 1 mum and 1 dad) to really enjoy. Yes, the food was expensive, but you expect that at these places.  The 'lazy river' was great for the tan!
