Letsos Hotel - (Accommodation in Alykanas)

Stayed in the "new" self catering block set back from the main hotel 2 weeks ended 28 August 2005. Great Holiday but not the best accomodation. The air conditioning IS payable locally anda rip off at 45 Euros (£30) per week. You have to say at the beginning of the holiday if you want it. Ours leaked and we got some (but not all) money back. The pool is deep (2.8metres deep end)
However you can go to other pools and other bars. Try Manados bar just down the road towards the beach. Great bar and very good staff. go down to the beach, turn left and walk along for a hundred yards and spot the Mill bar set back on the right hand side - brilliant !
We also enjoyed the trip to Spiros Museum and Taverna on the road train. Best food seemed to us to be at Mantelena - free Ouso! (main Street on right), Lemon Tree (by horse and cart 5 Euros) and Apollo2 (directly opposite Letsos).
Visit Zante town using the local bus (1 euro 20cents each). We also did a number of trips with Dionysis travel (English staff) - much cheaper than the Kosmos versions.
Overall a great holiday with very friendly locals and losts of Sun! Pity about the airport!!

I was in Alykanas for two weeks from 14 to 28 August 2005. This bar was a great retreat each night with a good mix of folks coming in to see the football and cricket on the wide screen. Have a five star metaxa with ice! It worked for me!!
They also have pool (the game not the wet stuff) and internet access. Lisa is a treasure and will tell you all about the island.
A very friendly bar and a real oasis from the noise and beat music towards the main town square.
Directions : Walk down past the Letsos Hotel towards the beach and it is the next bar on the right connected to the supermarket next door.
I had a great holiday and Molodos bar certainly added to it.
