Sugar Reef - (Restaurants in Kalamaki)

Debbie C  (20 May 2008)        10/10

sugar reef is across from melon bar and panarama but unfortumately due to the inconsiderate workman digging up the roads and putting in paths, Dennis at Sugar Reef was unable to open at the start of season (his is the blue  and white building next to the supermarket)   but i can assure you he will be open soon and you wont find a better host . the food is home cooked by Angela and amongst the best i've tasted and Dennis makes the best cocktails .

Down Under - (Bars in Kalamaki)

Debbie C  (04 July 2009)        10/10

having just got back from kalamaki i can assure you they are open as i have spent the last 2 weeks having a great time, nico emma & crew go out of their way to make sure you have  a great experience, and leave feeling part of their family. this bar leads by example and others should follow, instead of treating people like an ATM. I have taken my grandchildren there and would not hesitate to do so again as they even make them feel welcome which in turn makes for  great evenings all round .

Vanessa Hotel - (Accommodation in Kalamaki)

Debbie C          10/10

having been put here by default(tour  operators) i found this hotel to be excellent. they couldnt do enough for you, the room was spacious with air conditioning, microwave and TV . breakfast was good and one of the cheapest, the beer was reasonable happy hour 6-12 mythos 2.50euros. staff were excellent and when my husband took ill couldnt do enough to make sure we had everything we needed. i cannot thank them enough for all their help

Hera Restaurant - (Restaurants in Kalamaki)

Debbie C          5/10

after hearing such great things about this place, i was dying to try it, unfortunately i wasnt impressed, the food I found average and bland, the staff however were very attentive, maybe chef having bad day.

Zepos Taverna - (Restaurants in Kalamaki)

Debbie C          6/10

nice setting, husband enjoyed his meal, found mine very bland, staff attentive at start, meal brought out by woman who had obviously had bad day couldn't even crack a smile but launched a few ships. then the waiting started and didnt stop, waited for everything, tables cleared, drinks, pudding menu & bill.

Costas Hotel - (Accommodation in Kalamaki)

Debbie C          9/10

although didnt stay here on this occasion , being height of summer , did spend  a bit of time here, the pool very clean and the pool bar airy and excellent place to spend the day and some nights, Greek night a must(did it twice) and Karl Lewis is excellent. did go to see michael jackson tribute but unfortunately he didnt turn up(acccident or something) but had a great night anyway. The family always welcoming and try to ensure you have a great time. kostas band makes it different and more personal than other greek nights . would highly recommend this complex, although needs air con fitted to rooms. Sorry fans just dont do it.

Exotica Hotel - (Accommodation in Kalamaki)

Debbie C          9/10

first time we stayed here wont be the last, staff very welcoming and could do enough for you, rooms very basic (but that greece), thought charging for fridge bit of a cheek as other hotels around the world supply them foc, Air con a luxury, which on this occasion we paid for, breakfast between 8-10 which is a bit hard after a heavy session. only had 5 mornings out of 14  as found it very sameish, wouldnt accept if all inclusive , toaster drove me mad as by time it popped breakfast was cold. not worth the extra for breakfast as could get just as good on the strip for 4 euros a head,  pool very clean and lots of sunbeds although some were cracked and selfish people had put towels on early morning and didnt arrive until mid afternoon, we sat on ours about 11am  and no one arrived to claim theirs until 1.30 had to stop husband from collecting up all towels and depositing them in lost property(he will be back and wont stop him next time). all in all though a great place to stay and very central.
