Was horrified to see that this is now a chinese!!! Glad that I read the comment about the relocation to Laganas - will go there on our next visit.

Sue C  (25 May 2004)

absolutly horrified that Lambros is gone!! Definitely our favourite - will be visiting Laganas just to see Neck - is Vicki his sister working there aswell. Hope nothing else much is changing in Kalamaki before we get there!!!!

LAMBROS IS NO LONGER THERE, IT IS NOW A CHINESE BUT DON'T DESPAIR NECK HAS NOW OPENED A NEW RESTAURANT IN LAGANAS. IT TOOK US 5 DAYS TO FIND OUT. THE NEW RESTAURANT IS NAMED "SYRTAKI" AND IS OPPOSITE THE OLYMPIA HOTEL, THE FOO IS JUST AS GOOD.

WE TRIED SO MANY RESTAURANTS DURING OUR STAY LAST MAY & FOUND LAMBROS TO BE THE BEST. MY PARENTS WENT TO KALAMAKI AGAIN IN SEPTEMBER & ATE EVERY NIGHT AT LAMBROS. WE ARE BACK AGAIN NEXT WEEK & NO DOUBT WE WILL BE EATING AT LAMBROS EVERY NIGHT UNLESS WE FIND SOMEWHERE BETTER, I CAN'T IMAGINE WE WILL THOUGH !!!

I'm so pleased that other people have discovered Lambros and shown their appreciation on this website. I have a lovely photo to show of my grandaughter Summer, fast asleep at the restaurant table. I have to say that when she wasn't so tired on other nights that she really enjoyed eating the food and playing with Vicky's daughter Eri. See you next week my friends. The waiter's name is Leftheris (no wonder no-one can remember his name!)Lovely girl behind the bar is Anna.

Lambros is in an ideal location, right next door to the Cave bar. You can go for a few drinks and then eat a lovely meal at Lambros! We found the atmosphere in the restaurant to be extremely relaxed, Lambros is one of the more typically Greek places to eat in Kalamaki. Both the food and service were good.

Just reading past comments and had to add my opinion. This was our 2nd year in Kalamaki and can't fault it at all. We like to try all the different tavernas and after 2 visits we finally decided that this one is superb. Kalamki is full of good Greek food when you hunt for it but I have to say that Lambros is far ahead as it's service is absolutely brilliant. The whole point of eating out in Greece is that it is a leisurely affair to take time over and Vicky and Neck are just wonderful. Remembered us from last year and it was just like coming home. My son Daniel aged 9 decided early on in week that this is where we would eat - Vicky is just the nicest person - in fact all the staff were. Must mention other young male waiter, can't remember his name but they were all lovely. Can't wait to go again next year. Cheers Nicky Neck and everyone. Luv Sue Mick and Daniel xxx

Very friendly staff. Good food and value for money. Have eaten here for two years now and will return again.

NICE FOOD NICE PEOPLE

I have enjoyed many meals at Lambros Restaurant Kalamaki. The restaurant is run by a wonderful Zakynthion family. I return again many times every year because the food is excellent, prices are reasonable service is wonderful. The restaurant is top class with lovely finishing touches like the embroidered table cloths and atmospheric lighting and traditional Greek music. The atmosphere is very laid back and hospitable. Watch out for the owl and listen for the crickets! You can always be assured of a warm welcome and lively conversation with NEK AND VICKY, brother and sister who speak excellent English. I enjoy vegetarian food and Stuffed Peppers at Lambros are delicious. I can recommend this restaurant to people of all ages. In fact I am returning to Zante in September and will be dining at Lambros several times a week!

Very nice food, a nice setting and friendly staff, would recomment this place

We came here on our last night, it was terrible, don't agree with any of these comments. The starters took ages to come and were obviously microwaved. Main courses were just as poor. It was very busy so maybe just happened to be a bad night. Service was crap.

Sarah B  (22 June 2003)

What can i say? Went to Lambros twice and both times had amazing meals. The service was excellent and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was brill and excellent value for money. Try the stuffed tomatoes!! Definately a must!

Nick L  (16 June 2003)

We had our first meal here and was not too dissapointed (it was recommended by the helpful chap who spins you up to Caves bar).
Kleftico was superb and at a very good price. As for our starters - not so amazing. I would avoid the fried shrimp and chefs mushrooms.

The service was ok until they made it obvious that they wanted to kick us out to close up. Please can I have a dessert though ???.

Darren K  (02 June 2003)

Not quite the best in kalamaki, unless Mikaelos & Zepos go out of business, which is highly unlikely, judging by the amount of customers in them night after night.
However a very good restaurant with great staff, good food and keen prices.
definately worth a visit.

I worked in zante last season and will be going back again this year. This is the best restaurant in kalamaki. All the staff are excellent, Vicki, Neck, Anna and Telis. The food is lovely and really cheap. Ate here for six months and didnt get sick of it!! They even made things that wasnt on the menu for us!! will be seeing u all in May!! cant wait!!

Richard & Sarah  (06 October 2002)

Had our first meal here - beef stifado and moussaka (which was the more commonly available slice with chips, rice and veg). A very nice meal. Pleasant atmosphere, friendly staff, good service.

I would really appreciate it if anyone knew the street name or full address of Taverna lambros. I met someone there who i really need to gain contact with. even an e-mail address would be perfect.tar

Abigail S  (21 September 2002)

Taverna lambros is brilliant. I had Garlic shrimp with rice, salad, and chips. The service is friendly. It does get busy towards the late evening. IT is where i met the love of my life. You have so got to go. I could'nt change a thing about my vist to lambros.

Ann P  (23 August 2002)

Real good value for money here, the food is very nice...peppered schnichell (think thats how you spell it) really nice. Good service and really nice and friendly staff

David G  (20 August 2002)

Just come back from our Honeymoon in kalamki. Went here the most. Really good food, for not a lot of cash! Very friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Meat balls and Garlic bread as a starter is excellent to share. Followed by Zakynthon lamb or Kleftico and you will be on a winner.

Mike P  (05 August 2002)

As with most places a very large menu but this is a typically greek setting with no rush and fantastic food. Yes the 'flaming' Kleftika is a must along with the ery tender beef stifado. Excellent value for money although the vegetables do tend to be tinned.

Kirsty M  (05 August 2002)

Really really cheap food and really really nice . The staff were really friendly as well.

Marianne K  (01 August 2002)

Gordon S  (24 July 2002)

The best taverna in Kalamaki. Great atmosphere, friendly staff, superb food. The 'flaming' kleftico is not to be missed!
