President Apartments

Accommodation in Laganas

2 lovely ladies!!! F  (22 August 2005)

President Apartments are really clean and the pool was gorgeous.

Rooms were cleaned daily and the maids did an excellent job. Located off the strip so you could actually get some sleep when you really needed it!!!

A couple of drawbacks though - you cant have "friends"over - at all, ever.
Not good for young people going on holiday to have a good time.
Also the "No Noise Riot Squad" consisting of the assistant manager and his ugly filthy shoeless children banged the door down until you answer and shine a torch in your face if you are breathing too loudly.
We thought it was the flippin police the way they were banging on the door!!!
These apartments are great for families/couples but if you are young and a bit wild they are no good.
The manager moans his head off about everything and they guard the entrance to the apartments after 10pm to make sure you dont sneak in with "company".

Shar R  (18 August 2005)

If you go on to the Thomson website and look it up you can watch a little video about the apartments-they are good-much better than most there!

You'll hacve a great time!

I can fully recommend the President Apartments to anyone whose thinking of going to Zante as we came back a couple of weeks ago. For Greece, the apartments are as good as your going to get and we didn't mind as we were hardly in them that much. When you leave the apartment your about a 2 minutes walk from the beach and probably around 10-15 minutes walk to the strip, but its quite good as you can call in a few bars on the way to start your night off!! I'm gutted its all over Cry  but me and the lads are planning a week there next year after we've been to the world cup because its just an awesome place to go, but watch out for them bloody turtles as one of them rammned our pedalo!!

Shar R  (02 August 2005)

We got back from the President last monday and it was really good!  Maids came every day which was a bonus!  Apartments quite big in comparison to most out there.  It's about 2 mins away from the beach and a little further to the main strip-i went with 4 girls and we managed it!  On a night if you walk back along the beach its dead quick however i wouldnt suggest that on your way out as its very dark-by the time we left the clubs it was usually light!  I'd say it takes about ten mins by the main road but you pass a lot of restaurants which is good if you eat out of the president.  I'd definately recommend staying here.

Newcastle (31 July 2005)

We r planning on booking here for next yr! cud ne1 tell me how far away from the strip the appartments are and how long it will take to walk there? thank you hope sum1 can help us

Vix S  (10 July 2005)

My mates and I just came back from the Pres the other day and just wanted to say how much we loved it.

Random possibly useful info
-They do have safe boxes at a price of  20euro's a week.
-Drinks are quite expensive, especially on the main strip so try a few of the off-strip bars to start off your evening - a couple of our favs were strings and banana bar.
- When on the strip ask for free shots with whatever you order, even if they're not included, and you'll probably be given them.
-If you're prone to getting bitten by insects at night DEFINATELY invest in a plug which repels the little evils!

Dee +  (20 June 2005)

Claire L  (09 October 2004)

I Went on the 6th of September with my friend we had a great time thanks to the people we met Sue , Kerry and Kirk and don`t forget Denis the bar man who is comming to England soon.
I would tell anyone of my friend`s or family to go and i will be back next year.

Mal W  (05 October 2004)

Just got back (4/10/04) after very first visit to any part of Greece and struck lucky with this accommodation. Only a studio apartment at the rear of the complex, but it was quiet and cool (north facing) and the room (107)suited our needs completely. Maid service every day apart from Sunday and the complex is far enough away from the 'main strip' of Laganas not to be disturbed but near enough to enjoy the many bars & restaurants. I doubt you would cover all the restaurants if you stayed for 6 months. Highly recommended English breakfast at 'River Cafe' - but then it is run by an english couple! A vist to the Sarakina restaurant is a must - excellent food with entertainment thrown in.
Weather temperatures were in the region of 26 - 28 degrees every day. If you want to see a bit more of the island - hire a car as we did for a couple of days, as there are some lovely spots on the west & north coasts.

Nicola T  (26 September 2004)

Me and my boyfriend have just returned. We had a fab time, and we totally recommend it. It is very clean, and the maid comes 6 times a week. The people are friendly, beach is 2 mins away, and the main strip 5 mins away. The pool is freezing!! Too cold to swim in, but very clean. There is no entertainment in the hotel ie pool, karaoke, quizzes etc, but you can get all this in many bars around the resort. There is something for everyone, and we totally recommed Amigos bar, by far the best bar. Rock on Sideshow Bob!! Lagana, await our return.............

15 E  (30 August 2004)

Chris J  (15 August 2004)

just got back from the president and we had an excellent time!! we did loads of excursions and they were fantastic, the best were the freestyle excursions and also saturday night live, it's a brilliant show. We got to know the rep carl who was great, we did have a bit of noise on our first night but carl spoke to them and sorted it straight away, i know what mr fox means but carl does loads more than apologise, he even gave the lads the eviction notices he mentions, I know i wouldnt like to confront a group of angry travellers!
the hotel is really nice and the staff are great, well be back

Philip H  (03 July 2004)

Just arrived back last week, 14th to the 28th of june. Apartments are excellent. We were in room 203 which is round the back away from the pool and road so we didnt hear any noise from people coming in except for two mornings when the room under us had music on when they came back. Apartments are very close to the beach so if problems such as steve fox had you can quite easily go there. We did not have problems with any obscene language around the pool. When we were there it was mainly couples rather than groups of young lads/lasses. Bar/food area at apartments can be busy at times, mainly between 12-3, but service is very quick and food is of high quality.
We did two thompson excursions, the water park and saturday night live. Saturday night live is an excellent show and all of the reps put a tremendous amount of effort into making it a success, plus you get as much booze as you can drink!! really enjoyed this and recommend it!
Main strip is about 10-15mins walk away but there are plenty of bars on the way to it to pop into. Can take longer to get home!!!
Lots of restaurants to choose from, our favorites were Ionian sea (best in lagana by far, on corner when turn onto main strip), garden of eden and country.

Ideal for all

Steve F  (21 June 2004)

WENT TO THE APPRTMENTS 2 YRS AGO - SEE COMMENTS 23/06/2002. ALL I CAN SAY IS HOW TIMES HAVE CHANGED.
3 NIGHTS IN - GROUP OF TRAVELLERS SERVED EVICTION NOTICES - NOISE ALL NIGHT - FOR A FORTNIGHT! THOMPSON REP KEPT APOLOGISING BUT NOTHING ELSE! IS MORE LIKE AN 18-30 HOTEL NOW, AND TO BE HONEST I WOULDN'T GO AGAIN - EVER!
WE WERN'T ABLE TO USE THE POOL A LARGE PART OF THE TIME - NOT BECAUSE IT WAS OUT OF ACTION - BUT SIMPLY BECAUISE OF THE FOUL LANGUAGE PERMEATING FROM THE MOUTHS OF MOST OF THE - YOUNGER(!) GUESTS - WHO THINK IT IS FINE TO USE LANGUAGE ANY HARDENED EX COAL MINER WOULD BE PROUD OF - IN HEARING RANGE OF THE SMALLER KIDS IN THE POOL - WAS SO BAD - MOST OF US KEPT THE CHILDREN AWAY FROM POOLSIDE ONCE THE PARTY-GOERS SURFACED AT ABOUT 3PM. OTHER THAN THAT - I REALLY LOVED IT - 1500 KWID - WASTED!- PS THE COMPLAINT LETTER TO THOMPSON SAYS ALL OF THIS IN FAR GREATER DETAIL!!!!!!!!

Lucy B  (21 June 2004)

Well I could not have asked to stay anywhere better to be honest. The rooms were clean, and the owner and staff were great. Dennis is so funny, he even asked me to stay on and become a Business woman with him (???nah i don't get it either).
Only downside was that cos we had a ground floor room over looking the grass out the back...meant our room could be a little "buggy" with the odd cockroach running in...lucky for me my pal wasn't scared of things like me and got rid of them all.
Thanks to everyone at the President for making our holiday one to remember.

Louise B  (03 June 2004)

Just arrived back 28.05.04. Great place for couples of all ages ! myself and my boyfriend had a lovely time and would certainly return.
Food quality in the apartments and Lagana was very good and not too over priced.
Great location and very clean.
The swimming pool was very very cold !! very strange ! but once in it's ok !we had room 219 overlooking the pool with a balcony.
Did a day trip to Kefalonia which was lovely but a long day !
Dennis the bar man was very helpful and I would reccommend the bottles of local beer " MYTHOS ! "
Had a great time and cant wait to go back again !

Stewart W  (26 May 2004)

Just got back on 21/05/04 Yeah overall these are pretty good appartments nice and clean and we got a high floor with pool view that we asked for which was nice! Only bad thing I can say about the appartments was that the pool was freezing and you could hardly swim in it all week which was dissapointing they must pump cold water in there or something even with the sun blazing all day it didn't warm up very strange! Also don't do the trips with the Thomson they are a right bloody con how can they justify 34 Euros each to go and see the turtles yeah ok you get a meal etc etc and they stop off 3 times so you can swim blah blah but if you just wanna see the turtles for an hour and a half boat trip go to the beach front where boat trips are 10 Euros each much more like it!

Deborah T  (26 May 2004)

Diane we were your next door neighbours in 304! Was it your partner who was shouting for bog roll at 8.30 one morning?!?!? Had absolutely fantastic time again. This is our second time at these apartments and we're thinking of going next May aswell. It was better than in October as more bars and shops were open and there was more of atmosphere at night. Cocktails are 2.50 euro and you get a free shot (more if you are nice to the staff!) We did the day trip to Kefalonia and it rained! Seems nice there but we prefer Zante. To those thinking of staying at the President - you will find no complaints. The rooms were cleaned almost daily, the pool has a fountain and loads of sunbeds, the food is gorgeous, the staff are fantastic and the location is about 10 mins from the main strip so its nice and quiet. You'll love it.

Diana M  (22 May 2004)

Just got back from a week at the President (21/05/04). Cannot praise the staff enough. Dennis the evening bar man is great. He is unique dedicated to job of pleasing everyone. They have sky TV so you can watch films, sport, anything. Ask Dennis, he will sort it for you.
I requested a room high up and that what we got. We stayed in room 303 which was at the back of the building (we got the afternoon sun and then the sunset over the hills beyond). Didn't hear much noise, not even from the Hawain bar which opened 2 days after we arrived.
My husband and I enjoyed the walks along the beach to Kalamaki and the other way to Agios sostis.
In short these apartments are situated in a great place.

Rachel T  (18 May 2004)

Me and my boyfreind have just come home yesterday ,and we want to go back. The Appartments are lovley and the owners are freindly, the only problem is the new Hawian Bar which has just opened right next door an you can hear the music till about 2am.Other than that i would definetly reccomend it. it is only a minite away from the beach.we are going back next year.

Kathryn H  (16 May 2004)

I WENT TO ZANTE LAST JUNE FOR 2 WEEKS WITH MY BOYFRIEND AND WE FOUND THE PRESIDENT APARTMENTS TO BE ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC. WE WERE WELCOMED WITH OPEN ARMS BY ALL THE STAFF AND DENNIS WAS THE BEST BARMAN EVER!!!! THE LOCATION WAS BRILLIANT - APART FROM THE BIZARRE USING OF THE BEACH AS A ROAD AT NIGHT.YOU ARE FAR ENOUGH AWAY FROM THE MAIN BARS TO ENJOY A QUIET MEAL IN ONE OF THE MANY RESTAURANTS BUT STILL CLOSE ENOUGH TO HAVE A FAB NIGHT OUT IN ZEROS AND COCKTAILS AND DREAMS. I WOULD RECOMMEND ZANTE AND THE PRESIDENT TO ANY AGE GROUP AND I WILL GUARANTEE THAT YOU WILL HAVE AN EXCELLENT HOLIDAY. WE HAVE BEEN TO ALL THE MAJOR GREEK ISLANDS AND THIS ONE WAS THE FRIENDLIEST BY FAR.

Claire M  (29 March 2004)

I can't understand why this place hasn't been given 10/10.

I stayed at the President Apartments 4 years ago before they done it up and i thought it was fantastic.
The bar staff were amazing, especially Dennis (don't know if he's still there). Anyway, there was plenty of night life round about, lovely places to eat and the place was very clean.

Debbie T  (22 October 2003)

We stayed at the President during the 2nd week of October 2003 and found it to be the best time. No evening noise (room 312) and it wasn't overcrowded. Prices had dropped due to the approach of the end of season but hardly any restaurants were closed - just a couple of bars. Food and service at Greek Islands beats all the others hands down, cocktails at Chevy's are really nice and we enjoyed an all you can eat at Fatsos - plenty of choice and reasonably healthy. From the other reviews it seems we hit on going at this time in the year - lovely warm weather but without the madness, noise and humidity of peak season. President staff are all lovely, ask your name and they even remember it! We are planning to go in 2004 either in May or October.

Vicky B  (08 October 2003)

I guess it was ok! when i went we didnt really have a beach to go on as they used it for car parking at night times! the food was fantastic! the most i ever spent on food was 18 euros but i had a starter and main meal including drinks! its really good for entertainment esp hotlips bar! really nice apartments and good for buying presents for people! Zante town wasnt really much cop and the waterpark was ok! overall it was an ok place to stay for a week but i couldnt of gone for 2 weeks! i went on the 26th september 2003 and came home 4 october 2003!

Alix C  (25 July 2003)

My boyfriend and I stayed at the President 7th-21st July 2003 and had a fab time. The apartments are located about 15 minutes away from the main strip which is good to walk off the alcohol at the end of a night out! The beach is literally a 2 minute walk through a cut.

I agree with everyone who has commented on the barking dog - our room was right above the Greek family's house who owned the dog and I swear we could have killed it! Non stop yapping day and night. But that is the only negative comment we could have made about the apartments.

The bar here is open until 2am so obviously there is going to be noise until that time, but George (and his family, the owners - who have now gone home may I add) were the loveliest people you could ever meet. They went out of their way to make you feel welcome and told you everything you needed to know about the resort.

The rooms are basic but ours was very large for the two of us and very clean with maid service 6 times a week which we thought was very good. The food was the best - a lot of places you go in Laganas serve nice food but the smallest of portions, but here you could get a huge t-bone steak with all the trimmings for 8 euros which we thought was very good value. In fact we ate quite a lot of our meals here.

They also show newly released films most nights which is nice if you have had too much to drink or just want a quiet night.

As for the resort itself we thought it was great. You can either have a quiet night having a meal and drinks somewhere, karoake, or a night out clubbing and dancing. Our favourites had to be Cocktails and Dreams and Rescue (both bar and club). We also liked Waikiki - the cocktails there are double the size of anywhere else and only 1 euro more.

We had pre-hired a car through our travel agent which we got for 4 days but only actually used it for 1 1/2 days. The roads are shocking and they drive like lunatics, so that was a complete waste of money! Never again.

On the whole though we had an excellent time and are defintely thinking about going back next year. We never saw one fight or sign of trouble the whole time we were there. If we did come back we would definiately be going back to the President. We had a ball! Waiting for our photos to be developed to reminisce! If you are yet to go I am sure you will have a fab time. Have fun and take care!

Amanda J  (02 July 2003)

just got back,in room 318 overlooking the pool, the fountain was irritating, the noise of people returning 3am 4am 5am and jumping in the pool drove us to the point of wanting to commit murder, as it was difficult to sleep with the humidity, the rooms were very basic,if we wanted to pay for air con 6 euros a day so we opted for a fan 15 euros per week, and the icing on the cake was the owners families arrived took over the place and their children were still making noise up until the bar shut at 2am, running around the corridors etc,the food was ok, we couldn't wait to come home and we would never return!

Joy R  (11 June 2003)

My husband and I stayed at the President from May 12- 20th, we had a very pleasant stay, the food was good , the staff pleasant and helpful. There was a little dog which constantly barked but apart from that no complaints.Hope to re-visit sometime

Fiona S  (27 May 2003)

just got back from laganas. nice place although we were in room 104 which is at the back and you dont get much of a view and have to put up with a little yappy dog barking 24/7. the maid is sent from the devil( evil)
the hotel food is a little overpriced but apart from that a nice place to stay

David   (28 October 2002)

We stayed here in the very last week of the season and the staff in the place all looked as fresh and friendly as if it were the beginning of the season. The rooms (we were in 115) were well designed, clean, spacious and secure. The pool area is clean again and safe (except those bloody fountains are noisy). It's in an ideal location (5 minutes from beach and 15 from town) and basically a damn good place to stay on holiday. Would definitely go again!

Robert W  (31 July 2002)

we arrived on 12th July 2002,at reception we were given room 122,BEWARE,rooms 120,121,122 are all basement rooms with no balcony or terrace, according to the thomson 2nd edition brochure all rooms had either one or the other.we were moved to a room with aircon(9 euros per day).Laganas is great, best bar Navagios,2 best restaurants,El Greco and Appollino, will go back to Laganas but not to president appts, the Greek kids were noisy and unruly.Do your trips from local sources they are much better value. Also the rooms at the back on the ground floor(107 105)are right by the cess pit which gets pumped out daily, maybe i'm being picky but overall i didn't rate President Appts that highly.

Price T  (21 July 2002)

very good in rooms at the rear but noisy at front very very basic accom, no cupboard space, rooms spacy but set out wrong friendliest people you will ever meet, will go again if the price is right

Steve F  (23 June 2002)

CAN'T PRAISE THIS LOT ENOUGH! POOL IS SAFE FOR KIDS - THE ROOMS ARE SPOTLESS AND THE BAR FOOD / DRINK AND SERVICE IS A1! THE APARTMENTS ARE CLOSE ENOUGH TO THE SEA ( 5 MINS) TO MAKE IT EASY AND FAR ENOUGH FROM THE CENTRE OF THE TOWN (20 MINS) TO BE COMFORTABLE. ONE COMMENT THOUGH - THE AIRCONDITIONING ISN'T FULLY OPERATIONAL YET - MAKES IT QUITE WARM AT NIGHT.

Louise O  (11 June 2002)

just come back yesterday had a brill time, food very good but a bit pricey. apartments are very clean. The people are very friendly george and his family make you all welcombe. I would recommend these apts to all, but could do with a pool table for the teenagers.

Andy D  (21 October 2001)

Myself and my girlfriend had two weeks in President Appt. in Sept. The location is great for the beach, and just far enough away from the main clubs and bars to be quiet at night. The appartments are under represented in the brochure. Excellent value for money and the food from the Restraunt has to be sampled if only once. Excellent holiday and would like to return!!

Steve F (09 September 2001)

HEADING ZANTE WAY AGAIN NEXT JUNE WITH WIFE 2 KIDS AND IN-LAWS - DO WE NEED EARPLUGS?? AND IS IT FAR FROM KARRAS APPT (IF IT ISNT WE KNOW WHERE IT IS GEOGRAPHICALLY) HOPE SOMEONE CAN HELP STEVE FOX

Nick F  (15 July 2001)

The apartments were brilliant-just set back from the bars+clubs+really close to the beach. The atmosphere was great with a lovely clean pool area. Well worth the money+not fairly represented by the brochure. A great place to say-ideal for couples.

Beckie L  (14 July 2001)

Very good accomodation unless you intend to eat at the apartments (not much prep area!!). Navagios bar across the road is brilliant if you prefer a quiet drink, but watch the Tequila's!!! Hope to go back next year.

Emma R  (10 July 2001)

The apartments are great although they don't have a separate kitchen/dining area. The cooking and storage facilities are an integral part of the bedroom. That's not a problem though unless you intend to eat in alot. George and his family are the most friendly people you could meet and the food and service are excellent. My only complaint is the waterfall in the pool. It's noisy when you're trying to have a lie in!

Marc B  (30 June 2001)

Back at the President Apartments for the 2nd time this year, this time i was with my partner, and we both had a great time. The place gets better and better, food was great, the carvery eat as much as u can for 2500 drx was fantastic. Thanks to all the staff especially George who made the holiday fun... Thomsons u should upgrade this to a 4* its well worth it...

Marc B  (12 May 2001)

The apartment was very comfortable and had good facilities, escpecially the spacious and well sprung beds, which definately added to the greek style fun!!!!!!!! Food at the hotel was very good and had variety, and was very reasonable, you have to make it your 1st choice. Seriously it was really brilliant place.
