Airtours (MyTravel)

Tour Operators in Zante

Catherine C  (02 June 2004)

I would like to thank jody for all her help on my recent stay. It was my first holiday on my own and she really looked out for me. Thanx again

Nikola L  (13 February 2004)

Jodi Rutter was our rep at the Carretta Beach. She was such a laugh and great to have a laugh and a giggle with.
Going back to Kalamaki in June so hopefully meet up with her again. She was great in the cabaret.

Nikola L  (13 February 2004)

Melissa was our rep and she was terrible. She prefered to come into our hotel late and show of her love bits. She seemed more interested in her manager than her job and often we heard her on the phone to her friends talking about her one night stands.
She would have been better off on a street corner rather that in a hotel.

Steven D  (02 October 2003)

I agree with the previous comment, Emma was the rep on our arrival and return transfer - she was full of smiles, jokes and information on the island, which being a first time visitor i found most helpful. I think some of you should've have tracey as a rep then you would no who's a discredit to the company - honestly it wouldn't be emma, well done emma i wish you every sucess in the future.

Matthew P  (21 September 2003)

I just wanted to say how lovely I thought Emma the rep was in the Cavo D'oro in Kalamaki, we stayed there recently and had a really lovely time. Emma was very helpful, always there when she said she would be and assisted us in every way. I really hope that some other people realise that the reps are only human too and the ones that I have met seem to work really hard to make our holidays the best!! I think Emma gives the company a great image and hope she stays in the job for many more years!

Maria C  (08 September 2003)

flights both way were brilliant, the airport at kalamaki is something to be desired.
emma the airtour rep was very poor, dont think she smiled once.not helpfull at all.
go back to your last job love as you dont give the company a good image!!

Ray R  (02 September 2003)

Discount vouchers in resort less than usless. Rep pleasant enough, trips very expensive, can book cheaper at resort. Trip to Kefalonia was like a race, rushed everywhere and the only thing we saw of the capital of Kefalonia was the Icecream shop. If you want a leisurely sightseeing day - FORGET IT. This is not it, it is 14 hours of pure slog.

Emma M  (10 August 2003)

Went with airtours/my travel. The airtours rep is my only gripe with the holiday. No rep on the transfer to hotel. AS me and my boyfriend were the only people at the welcome meeting the rep made hardly any effort to give us any information about the resort and day trips. She told us about the water park and that was about it. WE asked about the coastline cruise as this was something we wanted to do. Paid over 100 euros for 2 excursions. Our coach failed to turn up for the coastline cruise and the reps mobile was switched off. Skope to the emergency rep who assured us Caroline would contact us and tell us what happened. Nothing. Water park was damaged in a storm so this was called off. Had to hunt down the rep to another hotel to get a refund and a very insincere apology. As we waited to be taken back to the airport we had the pleasure of witnessing another welcome meeting. This one contained at least 20 people and caroline couldnt tell them enough about the resort, obv alot more money to be made hence the effort.

Nick W  (10 August 2003)

The hotel rep was a "stand in" but seemed to know very little about the area or facilities. She was very good at plugging the trips which seemed to comprise the whole of the welcome meeting. No free drinks either which was a first as far as I was concerned. The transfer rep to and from the resort (Alykanas) was a joke. Very little information on the inward trip apart from don't drink the water and don't put things down the loo! On the return to the airport, she disembarked on the outskirts of the village and left us to our own devices. On arrival, it was guesswork as to which queue we joined (and boy were there queues!). No airtours rep to be seen and eventually we checked in after a hefty wait. Other reps (notably Monarch) were pushing their flights ahead of ours which was most annoying.

Chris C  (24 July 2003)

Due to a computer failure on the plane we were delayed 24hours in Zante on 23-24 July. I will praise Airtours for sorting a very nice hotel and a (has to be said not great) meal in a taverna, in particular praise for a young rep called Melissa who seemed to be a lot more busy with the problem at hand than others maybe, but I think they need to put their feet down a bit with the Airport people as 12 hours on the airport over 2 days was awful and could have been avoided if a senior manager had taken control from the start.
Some people were put on other flights if they had kids but had to leave their baggage while 63 remained in Zante.
That aside, the flight out and all the transfers have always been good with them and far better than others I have travelled with.

Sophie G  (04 July 2003)

Big hello to Ami and Graham - my 2 children loved the kids club and missing every minute of it. You two were both fantastic - Ami, you were great. Thanks for all you did.

Caroline - what more can I say. you were superb. Helped us 100% You made our holiday the best.

A much better set of reps than last year.

All the staff were wonderful.

Pat H  (16 June 2003)

Made my flight only booking via the internet and was completely satisfied with everything. Enquired about buying a meal during our outward flight as we didn't have one included with our ticket (£5.00 for an inflight meal) we just bought some sarnies and juice for the return trip and got by. We flew on a brand new Airbus from Manchester so if they are going under they are splashing they're money about! My Travel did us a pretty good deal with our flights, tickets arrived on time and check in no probs. Staff very nice on the plane.

Nicki R  (05 June 2003)

Hving panicked last night about Airtours/My Travel pulling out of Zante (I am travleeing on 02/07/03), I have been told that this is definately not the case and all holidays will be going ahead.
Although My Travel are in some financial trouble it isnt that bad and they are definately not going bust.

Miss R  (30 May 2003)

THE FLIGHT OVER TO ZANTE WAS VERY GOOD SINCE IT WAS MY FIRST TIME.BUT AIRTOURS WHERE VERY SLOW AT LETTING ME KNOW THAT I WAS BEING TRANSFERED TO ANOTHER HOTEL.(1 WEEK BEFORE MY FLIGHT)PERHAPS IF THE HOTEL STAFF WERE MORE FRIENDLY MIGHT MADE IT WORTH THE TRANSFER

Wilma C  (23 April 2003)

I have just heard that Airtours have pulled out of Zante... is this due to the fact the My Travel(Airtours)are in trouble as a company. I have already booked a holiday at the Zante Palace in Tsilivi but now the place will be deserted. As i booked direct i can claim nothing back from Airtours...

Shame so many people are going to be dissapointed this year.

Rebecca L (21 April 2003)

Hi, my boyfriend and I are booked to stay at Alykanas Beach Village in June 2003, only I am now really worried that it will be cancelled as I read in the papers today that Airtours MyTravel (who we booked with) might be going under. Does anyone know any more than me or know if this is true? I was so looking forward to going on holiday and I'm really worried now!

Jo   (27 March 2003)

I f you are looking for a job as a transfer rep then the best place to go is eurozante offices which are situated on the road just outside the airport. they have lots of holiday companies there to ask including airtours - other than that look for notice boards in hotels and call the office numbers. there is also levante travel further down the airport road which deals with first choice - good luck

Dionne M (01 February 2003)

I would like some information on positions available doing transfers this summer. I worked for Olympic last year in Corfu and had lots of fun doing them. If you have any info please contact me. I will be coming to Zakynthos the 2nd week in April.

Michelle B  (12 October 2002)

Not too bad overall - just like to say a big hi to stephen (Diana Palace) - kids club leader massive hit with all the kids and parents, couldnt keep the kids away, the kids love him.

Sean(sodge) R (02 October 2002)

i would like to know like some other people,is it possible to get flight only for a job,and return when u like?

Rob J  (03 September 2002)

no complaints about flight, although we had no rep on our coach to the hotel. stayed at hotel marelen in kalamaki, saw very little of rep, but the main gripe was the useless kids club reps.their main priority was eating crisps whilst watching the kids play out in the boiling hot sun. they did not adhere to the itinery.

Grant M  (04 August 2002)

Ive given Airtours the Thumbs up and all ratings as excellent because on the whole i find them to be a super company - BUT we went to the rep show A NIGHT AT THE OSCARS and found it to be very below par ( in fact we walked out at half time). Previous shows on other had been great! anyone got any comments on A NIGHT AT THE OSCARS??

Chris C  (31 July 2002)

I`ve never had a problem with Airtours - quick, efficient and good value for money. I would like to have seen the rep about a bit more but I`m sure she was busy! Totally agree with the last comment - the flight back had far happier staff who were more helpful.. seriously, professional as ever.

Carol B  (30 July 2002)

THE FLIGHT STAFF ON THE WAY HOME WERE A LOT NICER THAN THE ONES ON THE OUTBOUND FLIGHT.THE REP ON THE TRANSFER COACH WAS WORSE THAN USLESS.SHE GOT OFF THE COACH POINTED UP A HILL. TOLD US OUR APPARTMENTS WERE UP THERE AND GOT BACK ON THE COACH.I STRUGGLED UP THE HILL WITH MY 2 CHILDREN AND INTO RECEPTION ONLY TO FIND THAT SHE SHOULD HAVE BEEN THERE WITH ME.THE REP ON SITE WASN'T ANY BETTER,THE LIST WITH OUR PICK UP TIMES FOR DEPARTURE DISAPPEARED TWO DAYS BEFORE LEAVING AND DIDN'T REAPPEAR UNTIL 8 IN THE MORNING.SURPRISE SURPRISE THEY HAD BROUGHT THE TIME FORWARD BY 1 HOUR AND WE HAD TO RUN AROUND LETTING EVERYONE KNOW AS WE WERE BEING PICKED UP AT 9:20am AND THERE WASN'T A REP IN SIGHT,THANKFULLY NO ONE MISSED THE COACH BUT THIS WAS NOT DUE TO AIRTOURS EFFIECENCEY.

Gary E  (05 July 2002)

I would just like to add that on our return flight the stewards informed the passenger's that they were 35 meals short and were asking for volenteers to give up their meals for a complimentary drink,[big deal].Can the rest of you keep a check on them in the future to see if doing a cost cutting scam

Michelle G  (29 May 2002)

excellent childrens club rep called michelle at hotel marelen and rep rob for hotel made everyone feel welcome all around good service zante airport is up for improvements lots i should hope

Joanna C (27 May 2002)

My friend and I were planning to get a last minute cheap deal to Laganas, so from there we could find job and apartment in that time. Is it possible to get a single flight from Zante to the uk when we want to come back? which will probably be about end of july for me, also if it is possible, how much would it approximately cost? if it isnt possible, do you suggest any alternetives?

Heather G  (21 May 2002)

Flew to Zante with Airtours on 2lst June 2001 from Cardiff. Fourth time with Airtours to Greece and cant fault them. The flight last year was very good - the cabin crew particularly one guy was an absolute scream, especially his safety chat before disembarking.. I almost cried with laughter. The pilots are always great about letting the children into the cockpit etc. The worst thing about any flight to Zante is having to check in at the worst airport in Europe !!

Chris C  (09 April 2002)

went with them in July last year and they were very efficient - no delays or problems. It would have been nice for the reps to call round the flats as not everyone wanted to be around after a long early morning flight!!!! Price was excellent for the hotel and facilities on offer though - going again with them this year.

Laura C  (26 October 2001)

Hi, my boyfriend, Andy, and I booked through Airtours 4 months that we were due to fly to Zante, flying with British Midland. All I can say is that it was excellent. We flew in peak season and never had a delay going, and we were delayed for about half an hour returning. On the way it was like flying first class due to the leg room we had (we could have virtually lay down). Returning it wasnt as much leg room, but it was still more that other company planes. The food was nice (apart from the cold pasta), but the drinks were a bit dear. The hotel was basic, but excellent, you could not fault the service we received. We would definetly stay there again. Oue two reps were helpful too. We booked a trip to Kefalonia (much reconmended) with them and when our coach never turned up, they never hesitated about giving us our money back. We did eventually go, but with a local company. We are going to fly with Airtours again (especially back to Zante and the same hotel)in the future.

Chris H  (12 October 2001)

booked through direct holidays and couldn't fault anything they did. Airtours were the comapny Direct Holidays used these too were exceellent with the exception of a rather strict member of the cabin crew who got on our nerves....however all in all HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Mp   (03 October 2001)

Booked through Direct Holidays who used Airtours flights.First class service from the time we left UK until we retuned. NO airport delays. Direct Holidays reps are a credit to the company. We are travelling with them again next year. MP

Philippa S  (19 September 2001)

We booked a cheap late deal with Airtours and were unsure of what to expect, but they were excellent. The flights were good and there were reps waiting to sort everyone out at the airport etc. The rep at our hotel was around everyday and was very helpful when we had a leaky ceiling in our bathroom. When the hotel management failed to sort out the problem, he paid our bill of around 100 pounds for the air conditioning/TV/safe etc. I would certainly consider using them again!

Jane   (12 September 2001)

We went with Direct Greece. Jenny made a huge effort to look after us. The hotel was hot in the public rooms (Zante Beach?) but had good air conditioning in the bedrooms. The kids woke up in the morning and were very disappointed that they had to go home. I was very surprised that Airtours made no attempt to apologise at all, the pilot was very good, but no free drink, no letter or anything was very crappy.

Kenny W  (11 September 2001)

We once vowed never to use Airtours again but foolishly we gave them another chance. We had nothing but lies before and during this holiday. Even though we booked a year in advance we had a call from the travel agent 5 weeks before the holiday telling us the hotel was overbooked and we must choose another hotel. After several phone calls I was told Airtours had lost the contract with the hotel so everyone had been told to find other accommodation. We ignored the hotels offered (they were too far from the beach) and selected our own. On Thursday the travel agent told us they could not tell us wether accommodation was available until after the weekend weekend yet when we asked (incognito) at another branch we found there were 5 rooms available. Needless to say our travel agent gave us two rooms when we informed them. Our tickets were changed to the new hotel. On arrival at Zante The Airtours rep told us we were booked in at the first hotel and that we were never booked into the new one. I showed him the tickets and he replied "theres no rooms for you there!" Needless to say we did get the new hotel after much "heated discussion" even though it took two days to get the correct rooms. The rep at the hotel said it was disgusting and would see about compensation. After a week and a half she had not done anything. We filled in a complaint form but a fortnight after the holiday nothing had happened. All I can say is "be warned."

Katie J  (11 September 2001)

hiya......yeah it was ok but they could have told us sumthin in the space of 6hrs in the airport, the hotel was v.hot but nice. who did you go with?? on ur hols? love katie.

Jane   (07 September 2001)

I hated the idea of flying Airtours as I had heard such bad comment. But it was excellent! The 18 hour (5.10 pm to 11am) delay wasn't too bad, I enjoyed the extra night and the hotel in Argassi, I know others may think a computer out of action is nothing, but I don't want to fly with the flaps lacking the control they need! It would have been nice if the promised letter detailing the delay had been sent.

Katie J  (03 September 2001)

21 hours delay, all over nothing and the brekkys and tea's were disgusting, ok before but this time were very very unpleasant....if n e 1 was on this flight (19/8/01 - 02/9/01), e-mail me on katiejones1@hotmail.com, thx........kt xxx.

Mick H  (22 August 2001)

This is my second time with Airtours and again they have proved to be very good. My partner Karen needed the doctor while we were there and the rep (Michelle) organized this and even went to collect the prescription herself. Flights are always good as are the meals (we pre-book) Beware that the airport in Zakynthos is a bit of a mare!! (of the night type) Only 3 check ins when u leave so a queueing system is used. Inside is very cramped once in the departure 'lounge' Otherwise no problems.

Mike T  (02 August 2001)

Flight was good, but this was with British Midland, and although slightly delayed on the way out was quite comfortable even with a 5 and 2 yr old. Had to balance my meal on a broken tray though (there and back)!! Regrettably, we left a bag on the coach taking us to the hotel. We eventually retrieved it from the Airtours office at the airport 3 hours later, despite phoning Airtours as the coach was leaving the hotel for its next destination (about a mile away), less £100.00 worth of Greek Drachma, which some nice person had decided to steal. Yeah, I know it was my fault that I left it on the coach, but not a great start to the holiday. The rep didn't really seem that bothered when I spoke to her about it, and didn't really want to know. In fact the rep was a disappointment, and seemed to go on the missing list whenever we needed her. I paid the same amount to go to Cyprus with Thomson last year, and had far better accomodation, and despite assurances from the travel agent did not really think that Airtours had improved since I last travelled with them 10 years ago. Thomsons again next year!!

Hedley P  (27 July 2001)

We booked the Filoxenia appartments in Tsilivi before they had finished building them which was a cause for concern but they were finished and very nice too.The outward and return flights were good and the food the best I've tasted on any airline. The pilot on the return journey walked down the plane talking and joking with all of us - never known it before and he was brilliant. The rep meeting us at the airport was miserable and there was no help or information whilst waiting in the cramp baggage reclaim. The Hotel rep gave her welcome speech without coming up for breath and did the exactly the same on other nights.Never gave time to take anything in and tried to push the excursions which turned out to be half the price if booked in town.

Carole P  (28 June 2001)

Hi there, went to Zakynthos twice last year stayed in kalamaki both times, went for 2 weeks this may and am going back in September for a week, what can I say??? I LOVE IT OUT THERE. Locals are genuinely friendly, food is generally cheap and delicious and such a wide range even if greek is not your first choice for food, but dont knock the food if u aint tried it!! I must try somewhere different next year (mind u I said that last year!!) but my philosophy is enjoy a good thing whilst u can, kalamaki is going to turn into and extension of Lagana in the next few years so get there while u can people and just relax and enjou a truly hospitable greek haven called ZAKYNTHOS.

Yvonne W  (04 June 2001)

Brilliant holiday - no complaints. One word of warning it gets very hot outside the Zakynthos airport and the only other downside is that once you are through passport control you loose contact with the reps, the monitor screens are highly unreliable and it costs a lot at the very small refreshment stand ( can of coke £2)and there is nothing to do except sit. Very cramped area to wait in, especially if your flight is delayed.

Mark C  (03 June 2001)

They did not inform us of the building work taking place at the koukounaria appts. They do not seem to care about the customer once they have your money.Still waiting for a reply to a letter wrote 2 weeks ago. m.chape@ntlworld.com

Anna J  (01 June 2001)

Loved Zante, but we went with JMC who are crap

Sue G  (02 June 2001)

We went to Zante nearly 2 years ago with Airtours, great holiday 'Except' that due to the fact we had an early flight going out, we were 'kicked' out of our room a day early and so had to pay, yes pay! to spend the last night at another hotel. This did my husbands asthma the world of good lumping luggage from one place to another and before anyone asks Airtours 'did not' mention this to us at all when the holiday was booked, so make sure this doesn't happen to you!!

Kitty H  (02 June 2001)

Hi ya I've just been speaking to my mate who works for Co-op travel she always gets allocation on arrival holidays and Airtours deals are by far the best, I don't think you'll be dissappointed at all if you are just complain and be upgraded!!! I've just got a cheapy myself and travel next week...can't wait.Enjoy your hols.

Ann T  (23 May 2001)

We stayed at the Mavrias holiday village in Tsilivi the 1st week of May and would recommend it to everyone, the owner, bar staff and reps were fantastic. However on trying to book for 2002 the price has doubled!?!

Phillip D  (08 April 2001)

Thanxs for the flight info, I'm sure Yorkshire isn't that bad !! Anyway it would be worth it to get back out to Zante, I'll have to keep an eye on lateescapes.

Webmaster   (08 April 2001)

I talked to two lads back in October who got return flight only from Bristol for £15 each!!! They got them off the Airtours auction website www.lateescapes.com. Only downside was that they had to travel from Yorkshire!

Phillip D  (07 April 2001)

Can you get flights only from either Cardiff or Bristol to Zante ? phillip.daw@ntlworld.com

Sally H  (30 March 2001)

We used Airtours last year (2000) and the year before excllent,Hotel Zakantha Beach, Argasi.

Robert J  (16 February 2001)

First class no bad points, well ecept for a 2 hr wait in hte hot sun, outside the airport, as it wasnt big enough to hold everyone, make sure you have some water with you.http://www.simplewebdesign.net/2000.htm some of our pictures of Zakynthos

Paul F  (19 January 2001)

Great flight, great staff,GREAT HOLIDAY,nothing more to say!!

Sarah B  (18 January 2001)

We loved it!! The best apartments in Kalamaki!! Basic apartments inside but definitely all you need. Great pool area with good music playing!! If you dont want to be clubbing in Laganas all the time then this is perfect. The taxis are only down the road too so you have easy access to Laganas!! Made an excellent impression on me for the future and so mush that me and my mate are going back on August 12th this year!!! The local Greeks are soooo friendly - we were amazed how much they welcomed us. I now want to work out there next summer!! Oh and almost forgot - Antonis has the friendliest and sexiest staff!!! They will love me for saying that!!!

Dave S  (10 January 2001)

Accomodation is easy to find on zakynthos - the flights are the hardest to find. To book a cheap flight try lateescapes.com (it's the Airtours last-minute site)

Yvonne O  (08 January 2001)

Ben,Suuzzzyyyy and Karen, WE LOVE U!!!!!! Yvonne,Rebecca and Claire (Ellinis Apartments)

Rebecca L  (08 January 2001)

I travelled with Airtours twice this year and once with Thomson. There clearly is a problem with Airtours staff but some of them are really friendly. The price could have been a little cheaper but you did get value for money especially on the bar crawls. Our reps made our holiday a laugh and im sure if we went with Airtours again wed have just as much fun.

Claire P  (08 January 2001)

We travelled with airtours and I thought that the service was good. The reps were very helpfull and we always managed to have fun with them. Maybe the price we payed was a bit beyond but it was worth a few extra pounds!
