Nicola M

Message for Dawn Robertson, Did you call Costas dierct to book? the number that is on this page? Would be really grateful if you could let us know, am dying to go back.

Also, wanted to say when we were there last August one of the girls in the apartment next to us "fell in love" with one of the boys, the youngest one and I cant remember which one he is, but anyway she ended up staying after her 2 week holiday and moved in with the Costas fanily to live after her parents had gone home, would be interested in anyone that knows if she is still there, she spent every night in the bar with him. They really do love themselves and think they can get all the ladies, but hey they probably can!!!

Sarah L

This is a Reply to Michaela Evins. Sorry only just replied. I haven't looked at the site in ages. The surprise is all the young boys - Dennis, Takis, Tassos and maybe Lambros if your luck do a strip show! Very Funny.

Martin C

they do not have e-mail,as this is an inconvenience. And there is just enough room for denis`s head let alone a computer

Cardiacstar

Third time back, and as good as expected. The rooms were clean, and we even got a bath (although it leaked!). The boys in the bar were brilliant, as ever, and put on some great evening entertainment (highlights include 'ladies night' where they all dress up as women, and Greek night stripping!). Be warned though - the close proximity of the pool bar meant that quiet early nights were not feasible! We'll definitely go back. Keep up the good work Guys:-)

We stayed at Costas last August and really want to go back. We seem to remember a telephone number being up somewhere in the reception area, and apparantely some people told us that they called Costas direct to book their holiday to cut out tour operator. Does anyone have any idea if this is correct or maybe in fact have the telephone number for Costas.

Michaela E

Just got back from Kalamaki and in one word it was BRILLIANT!!
We stayed at the Asteri apartments which were next to the Costas Apartments, and we spent most of our time at the costa's pool bar.
We thought the whole family were great and so friendly.
The food was good and Takis's cocktails were superb!!! and very very strong!!!
I would definately recomment the Costas Apatments and Pool Bar to anyone (especially the Greek night!!!)

Michaela E

THIS IS A QUESTION FOR SARAH LUKE - We too have had a holiday with the Costas family this year and we too went to the Greek Night, but due to the kids being tired we had to go early and missed the end, What surprise would we have got if we had stayed, I am dying to know!!!!!!!!!
Look forward to hearing from you soon,
Michaela.
P.S We thought the whole family were great too (especially Takis's strong cocktails!)

Sarah L

It was our first time here this year. We returned from the Costas Apartments in September. It was wicked! You will never find a friendlier family to stay with and thats the truth. If you do stay at Costas, don't miss the Greek night, its the best night there. They have a special treat for you at the end too which is always funny. Well if you do go have a great time and say hi to everyone for me.

David N

Costas pool bar is a great place too chill out and spend an evening drinking takis's STRONG cocktails. We found the whole family very friendly and the food was good too (garlic chips 10/10) The pool was nice and big and plenty of sun beds. If you want a laugh shout at the turkeys and hear them laugh back (Well funny). Recomended to everyone.

Matt W

although we did not stay at the costas we did go most days for our breakfast, and ended up there most nights after going out on the town. We found the family to be very friendly and helpful, and Takis and Dennis were very good with the children too!
The food is very good and is not expensive at all, the menu is not massive but what is on it is very good for a snack at lunch time.
The greek night was excellent and after a few of Takis's cocktails it was even better.
I would recommend the Costa's pool Bar to anyone, I would definately go again!!

Matt W

I am going to Kalamaki for the first time in a couple of weeks. I am staying at the Asteri Studio & Apartments which from what I can make out are opposite the Costas Apartments???
I don't supspose anyone noticed the Asteri whilst you were there did you?
At the moment I have limited information about the Asteri and their location. Any information would be greatfully received.
Thanks
:-)

Dave G

I am sorry to have to say that after many years of Greek Island holidays we arrived home feeling let down by the greek people we stayed with.Denis was mean and moody Tassos could not add up and acted like he was gods gift only Takis took the time to be polite.
For the first few days we found the family very indifferent to us, we found out this was because we didnot rent a fan or saftey box.
How can you have a Greek night with no Greek food and chips with everything, and who told Riky he could sing. All in all we had a good time but the highlights were spent away from cost alot costa's

Helen M

just got back fom Costa's and wont be going again, the trouble is when you pay an extortinate rate you would at least expect some form of luxury..the locals seemed miserable, probably all the semi clean Brits, the pool bar was a rip off, but at least their are some brilliant places to eat, unlike the Pandesia, where unhygiene and street beggers seem the norm..
I read a few bad comments and then the other comments that seem to only have ever been to this greek location, i travel a lot on business and pleasure, and i can assure you not all the greek places have such low satndards, i think that if you come from a low hygeinic and poor quality background, then you will think Costa's is fabulous, for the rest of us it just wont do.. lastly, why would you want to rough it when you've paid so much? perhaps the people who seem to like this situation would rather not admit this to themselves.. Spain knocks greece into a cocked hat.. Fat dennis, lady boy takis and little frodo would be good in a pantomime.. try Rhodes, the toilets and sewers work there... Nice weather nice, Sea...

Louise C

We stayed at Costas last week. Booked our holiday the day before we went. The apartment was basic but it was fine for what we needed and for the good deal we got when we booked, it suited us just fine. The room was kept reasonably clean although a more frequent change of towels and bed linen would have been better given how hot it was. We didn't spend much time in the bar or on the complex as a whole but the staff always seemed friendly. The only big downside was that we had a ground floor apartment and couldn't leave the shutters open at night to let some air in. We would go back again.

Jeannette L

We stayed at the Costa's apartments this year for the second time, and cannot fault them in anyway. The family are so friendly and helpful, in fact they can't do enough for you. We stayed a fortnight and our towels were changed every other day and the bedding was changed at least 4 times while we were staying the rooms were also cleaned every other day, rubbish and toilet bin was emptied every day, so I don't really understand why these other people have been moaning, perhaps they should get a life! "The saying is when in rome do as the roman's do" well the same applies in Greece with the toilet paper. We will be going back again next year hopefully. We also made a lot of good friends out there who we are still in contact with. It is definately family orinitated. We also hired a jeep while we were out there and had a brilliant time exploring the island under our own steam. Also did a day trip to Kefalonia which was good. Anyone who remembers just like to say Hi!

Martin C

point break was owned by maggie and steve who where excellent hosts
they were always friendly and the food was always well cooked and presented we have been back to kalamaki 4 times in the last year and always received a warm welcome by them, have stayed at costas 3
times and cant fault it always made you feel part of family. basic but thats greece. like it or lump it, apartments are clean, staff friendly, Dennis fat, but all family fun, see you end of september, same place.

Colin G

This was our 3rd visit, and yet again we had a fantastic time, mainly due to Costa and his family. They are so friendly and cannot do enough for you.The only sour point was the Point Break cafe, which has a new owner(arrogant pig).It was previously run by Karen and Nick who were excellant hosts.I also recommend Sandros bar next door run by Lee.I hope anyone going on holiday to costa's has a great time as we do every year.

Dave C

Costa's is a good location for the beach and the town. Pity our room was so basic and a good job we didn't really need to self cater! Noise from the pool bar wasn't any problem but the racket from the main street went on till 4 in the morning. How there hasn't been a fatality on this road with the lunatics racing their cars and bikes I don't know.
Weather was brilliant, Kalamaki is excellent for families and football fans and the beach is really safe for the kids. Just watch out for those little nipping fish!
The fan hire, Costa's bar prices and health and safety excuses are a joke, and that's why most people go elsewhere. Lots of other nearby places looked cleaner and more inviting and all of the pools and bars are open to anyone. They are all cheaper and cater for all, not just the 15 year old tarts!
Sorry Costa and crew but you are catering for a very narrow group of people. Review your pricing policy and when you start making some money sort out the rooms and furnishings. You never know you could be back up there amongst the better places to stay.
By the way, previous comments about the toilet paper and sewage system are quite right. That's why certain parts of the town stink like a sewer.
Sofia's supermarket definitely best for service and exchange rates. Most prices are on a par or cheaper than other supermarkets. Tried loads of restaurants and no real problems with any.
Here's waiting for the replies!!

Lynn P

James Harris - have you ever been to Greece before? If you had, you'd know that you can't flush toilet paper anywhere on the islands as their plumbing can't take it. The 'primitiveness' is all part of a Greek holiday and so is their culture! Sounds as if you'd prefer the sort of holiday where everyone's English, the food is English and the weather's English (so why not holiday in England if all you do is moan?)!

David &

Costas Apartments were good value. We had CLEAN towels every other day and whilst the sheets were not changed as often as we would have liked, given the heat, they were changed 3-4 times in the 2 weeks we stayed there. We did not find the noise from the pool bar excessive nor did we find any unpleasant bugs (roaches, etc) and even the mozzies did not bother us. The Greek Night was good fun and entertaining if a little hot with all that meths!! The fans were a must and naturally they wanted to ensure that they knew the fans were safe and were not going to damage their apartments. The safety deposit boxes were certainly not a con as EVERYONE wants peace of mind with their valuables. We would visit again.

James H

The Noise from the pool bar is what you would expect when it's being run by Greek boys easily pulling the English slappers.. they strut around like peacocks, but forget that they have been mistakenly advertised as a good place for families.. the noise at night means you have to have the balcony doors closed, then you boil.. the safety boxes are a con, and they wont let you use anyone elses fans.. the maids must be family, as they don't clean!! sheets changed once, in 2 weeks, floors and surfaces dont get cleaned at all, the pool never gets cleaned... very expensive and badly run, the easiest way to sum up the costa's is PRIMATIVE, don't flush the toilet paper, and expect roaches...
Sofia's is the friendliest place to shop, but the Port of Caretta is cheaper, the lady who run's the Pergolas tours is nice too, the JMC reps are crap, just out for paid holidays, the best resturants, Spagettomania, and the mermaid, the roads are dangerous and the idiots who forgot to make pavements must have instructed everyone who drives to aim at the tourist, be warned especially if you have kids, the worst place to eat is on the Kalamki road at an open air place just before San Paolo's i can't remember the name it looks good but believe me it's rubbish... My advice, Change your place if possible, the island is loverly but the Costa's is badly Run and Not at all helped by JMC crooks, lastly the airport is the final straw, expect to queue for at least 2 hours outside in the sun... im not joking, it looks like stavros and his machine gun holding cousins run it...
if you can't cancel... Good Luck!!

Win &julie jamie and sam T

weve had an excellant stay with the costas family and will be going back again denis tassos & takis are good hosts and are good for a laugh the apartments and the pool bar is spot on nice and clean you wont go wrong on staying here we had 2 weeks and could have easily stayed for three all the best wishes to the costas family &denis the b***h fom win julie jamie and sam

Mel G

We have just arrived home and had an excellent holiday at Costa's. Everyone was friendly and the family worked really hard. The Greek night is not to be missed as it is great entertainment with all of Costa's family playing a part. Our 3 children aged 10,12&14 had an excellent time and were constantly entertained by Dennis, Takis and Tassos. The main street is a five minute walk away, where there are some lovely Tavernas. We liked the Panorama Roof Garden, and the local Chinese restaurant was worth a visit. Would definitely go back to Costa's!!

Lin N

Just got back from costa`s apartments. Second year we have been loved every minute. Family very friendly specially Takis, Tassos and Dennis. Greek nite a must very entertaining. My two children ages 11 and 14 did`nt want to come home. Hope to go again next year.

Rebecca W

We stayed at Costa's for our Honeymoon and we had a fantastic time. Made some really good friends and the guys (Dennis, Tassos & Takis) that work there were brill, especially when dressed as women on Ladies night!! The Greek night & the Full Monty afterwards was definitely the highlight of the holiday. The only let down was the apartment we stayed in, wasn't anything special and was only cleaned once throughout the two weeks we were there. We had a change of towels & linen once which was terrible. The atmosphere & friendliness of the place made up for it though. Also located really well, near all the shops & restaurants. Recommend the restuarant Spagetomania, which is situated not far from Costa's. We will definitely be going back there, if not next year, definitely the year after.

Shirley R

e bin going to costas apartments, on and off for 22 years now and we love the place and the family. ok it is a bit dear and maby a bit of a rip off but so is england ??.And its better than staying at home doing house work. go on treat your self's and have a week or two at costas.

Maggie B

TWICE

Ruby C

Maggie Bracken you did not actually say whether you have ever visited costas apartments or not. I quite agree with a lot of what C. Hughes said. Motorbike noise and dogs did seem to be quite a problem when we stayed there and do they have any other CDs apart from Tom Jones and Justin Timberlake I think they need to change CD occasionally.

Nicola L

all i can say is it's 3 euros 50 for a cocktail- 2.50 if it's happy hour or you know the barmen well. Sorry, dunno the prices of other drinks- we just lived off cocktails!

Keef & Jan

Dave
When we were there at the end of June we were charged 40 euros for the fan and 40 euros for the safety boxes for the fortnight, Could have got boxes elsewhere for 20 euros for 14 days and the same with the fans, but fans from elsewhere would be removed from the rooms. Enjoy your holiday, we wish we were going back again so soon.

Dave M

Hi, We are going to Kalamaki on 7th August for 2 weeks staying at the Costas Apps. A lot of people are commenting about the prices. How much are saftey deposit boxes and fans for 2 weeks? Also what are the typical prices for drinks.

Ant H

Yep, agree with others here. Drinks, fans, water and security boxes a complete rip off. Staff not that interested unless you spend all day in the bar spending more money (then they are very friendly), cleanliness standards not up to much.

I suppose these gripes aren't fundamental - our holiday wasn't spoiled or anything, but not a great venue all the same!

Maggie B

C. Hughes what a whinger - maybe you should holiday on an uninhabited island!

C H

costas is right behind the kalimaki drag stip and the down under bar.
the drag strip is where all the little big men go on their motor bikes
and race up and down all night . the down under bar is very noisy up till 12oclock, then they quieten down a lot.when the motorbikes pack in its time for the dogs ,cats, cockerils and lots of other strange noises to start.after them its time for the deliveries to start on the main road. it is no good if your a light sleeper.the lads behind the bar need very little excuse to crank it up, till about 4 some nights. we had to buy ear plugs.the pool bar is open to any one from anywhere so get your towel down early. hygene in the bar and kitchen is not good.everything can be bought for less around the town. you dont get a kettle , toaster, the mini cooker is less than mini.the room was cleaned almost everyday by a very nice lady.

Karen C

went to costas appartments in june and will not be going back. prices in bar were a rip off. fans a rip off.safety deposit boxes a rip off.even water they advertise as cheap was a rip off. suggest the first thing you do when arrive, buy a big bottle of bleach. room cleaned three times in a fortnight sheets changed once we had to ask for towels to be changed.bins we emptied ourselves and had to buy own bin liners.costas family friendly as long as you spend all day and night spending in their bar, if not they didnt want to know you.noise from bar goes on till early hours and i mean LOUD music.i suggest you try athina appartments just up the road absolutely no comparison.the weather was fantastic.

Sally K

Went last September going back next May. Really enjoyed our stay at Costas. Had a lovely room with massive balcony. Ideally located for families because it was away from the main road and quieter at night. Noise from pool bar was not too bad. Had a visit from maid every day to change bin, but could have changed sheets more often!! Food at pool bar is lovely, but for eating out Zepos is the best for quality and value for money. Chives, Paris Taverna and Zakinhos are also good places to eat. Best bar is Kalamaki Claudes W.M.C it is run by a lovely Northern couple and they are very friendly. Finished up there nearly every night! Can't recommend Merlis Taverna. The standards there are not as high as the majority of other restaurants in Kalamaki!

Emma F

Location is excellent. Not too far away from the beach yet also near to the main street. Despite being near to the main busy street the apartments are still fairly quiet. The pool bar is noisy until about 1am but with the doors and shutters closed you can hardly hear the music.
Only complaint has to be cleanliness. The cleaner only turned up about 5 out of 14 days! & therefore we had to empty the toilet bin ourselves most days! Although towels and linen were changed once a week.
We were also pleased with the service we received from JMC and would travel with them again.
overall I would recommend Costas apartments as despite a few problems with cleanliness the studio was a good size in an excellent location!

Scary B

Oved it, Loved it, Loved it!!!!! We didnm't actually stay there but had a brilliant time while drinki there! We calledin every night for a drink or two or three or sometimes four???????? The fanily are really really friendly and make you feel at home and really get to now you!!!!! Theme nights are excellent especially Greek night and Ladys night - look out for Taki's underwear!!!!! YUM!!! Tassos - WHATTTTTTTTT dd yu say again????? ould deffinatly go back gaain!

Nicola L

costas pool bar(we cannot comment on the appartments cos we hvent stayed there for 8 yrs...) is so so so so so fantastic !their greek night is not to be missed...dennis takis and,of course, junior(tassos) are just gorgeous ! (even though junior can be a bit of a sulky bum!) dont turn down a lft to laganas with dennis n tassos-his car purrrs, and it WILL be a good night :)
if anyone has a contact email address for costas/dennis please could you send them on, thanks

Keef & Jan

Just got back from Kalamaki and stayed at Costas. The apartment was ok but found the prices at Costas a bit of a rip off. The price to hire a fan for the fortnight was double anywhere else, and if you do hire one anywhere else it will be taken out of the room. The price of the safety deposit box was also twice the price of anywhere else. Sorry but even the drinks were priced higher than anywhere else. I bought just one round of drinks there then spent the rest of the time drinking elsewhere. We are going back again next year as we had already booked before we went this time. I will not be using their fans or safety deposit boxes next time.

Joe W

just come back from costas appts had great time with all the costas familly dennis & takis are the sons they will do anything to help if they can.Tassos their cousion watch him with the drink prices i think he charges what he wants but he's ok apart from that we will be going back again. if you want a quiat holiday with friendly people this is the place to go. sunday is the football match day great fun all locals come and play us Britts, very hot WHAT A PITCH its no wembley

Becky L

Going back in August can't wait this year we are going for a fortnight a week wasn't enough. Really looking forward to it and seeing everyone again. The family are wonderful hosts nothing is to much trouble for them. If you stay here they will make you more than welcome.

Michael R

Costas apartments are just off the Kalamaki - Lagana Road.
If you walk along that road from the "T" junction at Kalamaki (Where the taxis stand) it is about 150/200 yards where there is a turning on your left opposite Sophias apartments and shop.

Keith & Jan

We are going back to Zante again in June and are staying at The Costa Apartments. Having been to Kalamaki twice before we are trying to remember where Costa Apartments are. Could someone who as been there try and explain please. Ie Are they on the main road to Lagana or the road towards the beach by Paris Taverna. Are they near a lot of noise or away from the noise.
Thanks in anticipation.
Keith & Jan

Michael R

Absolutly lovely place to stay. The family are very friendly and helpful and will help make your holiday a joy. It is just a shame that JMC are contracted with them for another 2 years. JMC will not look after you, but the Costa's family will certainly do that as much as they can despite JMC.

David A

Costas apts are with Thomas cook/JMC in 2003 check on www.thomascook.co.uk Hope that helps David

Jeannette L

We had a wonderful time at the Costas apartments will definately be going again, the family are very friendly and they make you very welcome. They did a Greek night and that was absolutely wonderful no you don't need to travel to have a good time while staying at the Costas.

Jon F

Myself, my Wife and Daughter have just returned from Zante. We really enjoyed our stay at Costas. The apartments are simple but suited us fine. I can't get Greeks and that bathroom thing. They have contributed so much to the world, Art, Science, Literature and a whole bunch of other stuff, but the shower is half way up the wall and has no curtain. What is that paper in the bin stuff all about? Does anyone ever actually do it? We enjoyed the pool and exploring the Island was great. You must go to the shipwreck.

Mark S

what tour operator are Costas apartments now with as I have been there before but they keep changing and as it is now three years since I last visited I am struggling to find who they are with, TIA

Cheryl M

Went to Zante 23/06/02. when we arrived at Costas we got a pleasant surprise , The pool was small , friendly and clean. Rooms were clean efficent and Balcony was massive. (yes we did have the one over the reception) The Family were lovely people and we would highly recommend it to anyone with kids who is still up for a good time and late nights!!!!!! Laganas is only 2 minutes away in taxi , we never needed to go as the nightlife in Kalamaki (Costas) was good enough for everyone !!!!!! Would definalty go again!!!!!!!!!!!

Tim F

Agree with most things said here we had a ground floor apartment at the front- pretty quiet but the bar was sometimes noisy until about 4AM, not really the music but the people room service left a bit to be desired, we had to empty toilet bins ourselves and towels need changing more often. couldn't imagine anyone cooking on the camping stove!

Louise W

I loved staying at costas appartments every one was very friendly they all make you feel at home. there was lots for me and my sister to do my mum worried about us being bored but taki(member of there family)kept us entertained and a little girl Alexander was so cute.I didnt want to leave

Jeannette L

Going to Kalamaki 29th August staying at Costas apartments, first time abroad, is there plenty for my 2 teenage girls to do?

Mike R

To Anna Lamb - in reply to your request for information - I am now 53 and enjoy staying at Costas. My family and I have stayed about 5 times, the family are excellant and very helpfull. The apartments are situated away from the main hustle and bustle but the music from Costa's bar can go on past midnight. This you can hear depending upon where your apartment is situated. As for cleanliness - no problem. Have a great holiday Mike Rogers

Anna L

This Will Be Our 1 st Visit To greece,Are These Apts For 55 Plus.We Dont like a lot Of Noise at our Time of life And I Do expect cleanliness,I Need Info ASAP.Please Help . Thankyou ANNA LAMB

Charlotte L

I'm most definately going back here with my mates next year! Stayed here about 6 years ago, came back years later, stayed in a different apartment (due to cost), they recognised us, 2 years later, they recognised us, 2 years later after that, they recognised us again! They are sosososo friendly, missing that place like crazy. The Souvlaki Pitta's are gorgeous, it's a nice walk to the beach, don't know what the actual apartments are like but they have certainly expanded! The reception area looks ace, and they're all working very hard 24/7. Can't wait to go back!(not very quiet though)

Laurie A

Arrived by Costa's Pool Bar and it looked OK, nothing out of this world. Our (clean)room (for 3) was literally that, a room with 3 beds, a kitchen area with fridge and hotplate and a very limited supply of anything to cook on or eat off. Seperate shower / toilet. Nice balcony overlooking quiet road and pool - and the sea in the distance. Fans available and recommended but get them much cheaper at a local supermarket ( Sofia's). During the day all is well. At night the pool bar is noisy and it goes on until the last person goes. People swim until they've had enough - is the pool ever cleaned? Finally realised during the last week of our stay that a fan drowns out the noise of the bar music. Mosquito's are common but we faired well - get something to repel them anyway, cream, electric things or combustable things! Or all of them! Room service poor - sheets and towels changed once a week. Toilet bin emptied every day. Very very hot at night - as you might expect. Although not brilliant, we saw much much worse and apart from the noise it wasn't too bad. Oh yes - the Brits have taken over the Germans - we had a good laugh most mornings watching the pool regulars taking their towels down to their favourite sun loungers at 8.30 - returning to bed and then turning up at the pool again at 10.30. Some people spend all day every day at the pool - there is a fantastic beach 12 minutes walk away - go there. Even bettter, get a car and explore. Do not go to this island and just see Costa's swimming pool. Aircraft noise is no problem at all.

Mike R

Costas Apartments are in the second edition of the JMC Greek Brochure for Summer 2002, although prices seem to have risen somewhat. Is this due to the Euro which will be in use from February next year?

Brian

Having previously stayed in the Costas apartments i wish to book for August 2002, i have consulted the travel agents they say, they cannot find any company dealing with these apartments.can anybody inform me which travel company it will be

Mike R

The Costa family are very accomadating and friendly. Nothing is too much trouble. They will prepare food at any time for you and even escorted my wife and I to the hospital in Zante Town when my wife broke a bone in her foot last year. We are returning in July this year - in spite of JMC - it will be our fourth stay.
