Accommodation in Kalamaki

Louise S

We stayed at the 2 brothers in Kalamaki at the beginning of October. We loved it! The apartments although basic had everything that we needed. Where do you spend you're holiday, certainly not in your apartment the whole time! The accommodation itself was very quiet but we expected this being near the end of the season, and we rarely saw the owners as by this time the pool bar was pretty much closed, again being near the end of the season. When we did see them though, they were certainly friendly, thanks Panos and Costas! Our rep Stephanie was also on hand if there was anything that we needed although we tended to keep pretty much to ourselves, but good to know that there was someone on hand if we did or just for a chat over the balcony, unlike some of our previous reps! The resort of Kalamaki was great and just what we were looking for, and the location of the 2 brothers was also really good in the resort. can't wait to go back nest year and have already started looking to get back to the 2 brothers!

Andy J

i think its such a same that this place is getting a bad name we stayed here two years a go and had a fantastic time.

Lucy B

me and my boyfriend stayed at the two brothers in late september and were expecting basic accomadation, but two brothers was a little too basic, the kitchen facilities were non existant, towels and bedding only changed once in a week, and I also agree that the 'two brothers' made no real effort to welcome us to the appartments. the pool area was very quiet during the day so we never stayed in there and the bar was shut early which made it difficult to meet people in the complex. we had a great holiday but will not be returning to the two brothers

- -

I think your comment about the brothers at the 'two brothers' was rather rude! They are extremly helpful and friendly however just have typical greek mentality.

if you read your brochure correctly ragarding the pool bar (in the booking conditions at the back) it clearly states that at the beginning and end of the season not full facilities at accommodations and around resorts will be fully availble compared to high season. In peak season the pool bar is open much later however they dont keep the bar open that late this time in the season as people are not wanting to use it!!!!

Neil H

We have just returned from the two brothers in kalamaki and we were very unimpressed with the accommodation. I know Greece is basic but this brought a whole new meaning to the word basic the brothers them selves I found to be sullen and not interested in any type of conversation I don’t think they speak much English which is odd for people who really on us for a living. The pool area had no atmosphere at all and the bar is shut by aprox 9pm of a night. The location is nice and central but the constant barking of stray dogs all night is a pain to say the least. The maids came in twice in the week that we were there the beds are uncomfortable and the towels are like sand paper. Every one we spoke to who was staying at the two brothers had nothing positive to say about it or them
.

June R

Having just returned from the Two Brothers I have to say that I will NEVER EVER return to this accomodation.  Our apartment had a kettle  but no toaster  and we only had clean towels twice in two weeks.  The bed was changed once and we had to go out and buy a sharp knife in order to cut bread, tomatoes etc.  When we asked if we could have a toilet roll we were told, by the Rep Stephanie, that we had already had one and would have to buy them ourselves.  I have been going to Kalamaki for approx. 11 years and have been in quite a few other accomodations and have to say that this was the worst so far!  I don't know if we were unlucky with the block we were in as we met people who were staying in the other blocks and they said that the maid could not be more helpful so perhaps we were just unlucky but we will never go back there to find out.

Read all the comments on here.  There are far more positive ones than negative ones.  All the negative ones appear to result from a short period in the middle of the summer when there were some issues in one of the blocks.  Many people have visited (and commented) since that time in June/July and the overwhelming majority are positive.

Don't go expecting 5 star luxury - it is basic and the "self catering" element is nothing more than a kettle, a toaster and a two ring hob.  You should budget for eating most of your meals out!!

It's as clean and as safe as everywhere else.

Keith L

Just got back from 2 brothers no complaints at all. No problems with security rooms are basic- yes but very very clean.

My wife and I slept with the balcony doors open every night and had no fears at all.
The maids especially Angela very friendly and nothing is to much trouble for them.
We have been going to Zante (Kalamaki) for 10 years now and will certainl;y have no problems of staying at "2 Brothers" again.
Weather was fantastic.
Yes in  the rooms you get a fridge - kettle - small cooker - and we had a toaster and air conditioning (cost of 5 euros a day) we also had security box 28 euros for 2 weeks.
The two brothers who run the accomoation are very shy and speak very little English but friendly.
The only down side was the loud mouthed Brits who had an almighty row on our last night keeping most of the other residents awake - Glad they dont live next door to us.(Morons)
So no need to have any worries about staying here very close to tavernas and bars which are only about a 5 minute walk the beach is about a 15/20 minute stroll. Enjoy Zante and the great people of the island.

hi me and my boyfiend are visiting kalamaki for the first time on thursday and staying in the two brothers, i have read some of the comments and the 2/10 rating and am a bit concerned. how basic are the appartments? are they dirty? how close to the main eateries/bars/beach are they thanx xx oh and anybody had any more problems with safety at the studios?

Sarah W

please please please do not worry!!!!! I am sure you will have a fab time ...we never encountered any problems what-so-ever! I cant remem if there was a kettle or not!! sorry! we didnt need one as it was like 45 degrees!!!! the apartments are really nice...basic but nice. the pool are is lovely and it is only a short walk to the centre of kalamaki which is very handy and there is plenty of places to eat and drink. Since we went i dont think anyone after us encountered any problems either. i was terrifed too as i am only 17 and was going with my boyfriend on our first holiday together without adults!! But we soon relaxed and realised that there was nothing to worry about, if you use the safety deposit boxes then when you go out during the day you dont have to worry and your mind is at rest! I am sure you will thoroughly enjoy your holiday but hey..if you dont want to go I will be happy to go instead!!!!!!   jus kidding! have a great hol..we did! x x x

Katy A

we have just arrived back home today from the two brothers (kalamaki) and had a fantastic time. the rooms are basic but you dont spend much time in them anyway .so we didnt worry. we found the cleaners all friendly and very helpful even doing our washing up!

As for the saftey aspect we had no problems at all, with no sight of funny looking " albanians", just keep your doors locked and put your money in the safe, its common sense.

The apartment is close to the centre of kalamaki and only 5mins walk to the main strip of the bars and resturants. We found Dias good to eat in and also the Escape were you can eat traditional greek food and all at great value for your euros.

Kalamaki is a fantastic place to stay with something to please everyone, it has some good bars but not to noisey or to quiet!

Laura H

computer crashed, i have lots more to comment!

on arrival the maids were very helpful & helped us to lug 2 very heavy cases up 3 flights of stairs.
after being shown to the 'dreaded' rm 27 & its block, we were immediately surprised!  the rm was modern, clean & airy.  basic in greece does mean basic & compaired to other resorts & other islands we were lucky.  we had a kettle, toaster & even a shower curtain (which some lack!).  i will say that there were some grumbles frm a few people in the grnd flr rms as they didn't seem as modern & well kept.

with regards to the security, we were very happy.   (phew!)
i slept with our cases against our door the first 2 nights, but we soon realised we were safe.  following the previous comments, it is still unclear as to what did or didn't happen.  i don't believe there were 'albanians with master keys' breaking in.  we saw no signs of crime on the island over the two wks, so make up your own minds.  just don't pre-judge like us! just be sensible & lock your drs in the day and at night. you would at home so it's common sense really!

the maids, along with costas & panos can appear a little grumpy and unfriendly at first, but you soon realise this is just the language barrier.  we brits don't bother to learn much, if any greek but at the same time expect them to be fluent in english!

they work very hard over all.   they even did our washing up!  yes, clean towels every other day would have been preferred, but it wasn't the end of the world, & it certainly shouldn't dampen your holiday!
be warned though, the maids usually appear around 10am, so be up if you want a proper clean because after a few late nights & long lie-ins, we were caught half dressed!

click to enlargethe pool was fantastic!  definately it's best feature.
many pools in kalamaki seemed to have lots of chemicals that hurt your eyes.  ours didn't.  it was like fresh water & quite warm.  we had some great days by the pool.  the lay-out of the beds around it meant everybody got to know each other very quickly.  we have some fantastic memories of our days here, especially messin about with the kids! (and the big kids, steve, liam & salmon to name a few!)

the entertainment at night is very poor, but you make your own really.  it has a lovely pool-side bar which we used both day and night.  we became very friendly with both young couples & families who came over to use the pool frm the whitehouse aptments.  they too spoke highly of their rms & the maid service. we may just have been lucky with regards to our accomodation but as long as you don't go with luxury in mind, you should love it!

we were very sad to leave  & despite our preconceptions, would return for another summer, although i doubt it'd ever be the same without the same great bunch!   hannah & katie you better write to 'salmon' or he'll cry!  he's missing you already!  shaba! big up 'waps-out' 'glitter boy' 'drive by' n 'emma' (damm we never got you a nick name!

xx

Arrived bk 6hrs ago n had 2 comment!

Myself & my partner Rick (AKA Salmon!) were terrified (well, me more than him!) after reading comments about security.   We had pledged to demand a rm change if we were given rms 1-30!  On the coach, Steph, the rep, handed us our rm details.  Low and behold rm 27, OH NO!!!

We decided to check it out & then speak to Steph

hi matt,

i just got back from holiday 2day and i stayed at the two brothers. and honnestly i had a fantastic time!! but be prepared its MEGA HOT!!!! lol

i felt exactly how your girl is feeling now and to be honnest there isnt really anything to worry bout.

there are a few things wrong with the apartment however i didnt let it ruin my holiday.

the maids, they really arent frendly and dont really speak a word of english. It will be atleast 4-5 days until your sheets and towels are changed. they also leave keys lying around unattended and the owners aint very friendly at all. and the apartments across from ours have had a few problems-- all i can say is the safe box is a must and so is the air con and put everything in your safe box that is expensive.

we never got broken into and neither did anyone else during our stay just be careful

and have a good holiday  (please go on a jeep discovery and a turtle trip its a must)

Matt W

HELP!!! me and my girlfriend are staying at the two brothers appartments in september but we are mortified to read some reviews about break ins and albanian robbers!!!! my girlfriend is so upset she is now dreading going. Is it really that bad as we have also read some reviews that couldn't fault the place.

Please e-mail us with any new reviews that will either concern us or put our minds at rest at

Thank you v.much Matt n Becky. (30yrs,24rs)

Tony K

Well it looks like we got the raw deal when it came to it then! The maids left our patio doors open to keep the room cool, fair enough....but they did not close the shutters, and as we were on the ground floor it was inviting any thieves in! Its great that you all got on with the maids, but i can assure you many didnt! They needed to spend more time washing towels and sheets and less time reading Hello magazine and doing their knitting!

Sarah W

we found that the cleanliness was ok, the maid was really nice and gave us toilet roll when we needed and the sheets and towels were changed once whilst we were there which is ok, could have done wiv the towels changing more regularly but it wasnt something that bothered us! and the maid left our patio doors open but we realised why.....the air conditioning doesnt work whilst you are out of the room so the best way 2 keep your room cool during the day is to close the shutters (this is safe because no1 can gain entrance 2 ya room thru these when they are closed) and then open ya patio doors. so thank you maid!

Ciaran M

Tony - We couldn't have had a more different experience with the cleaners.  Nothing was too much trouble, we did get loo roll (although, to be fair, on a self catering trip you might be expected to buy your own), the loo and the shower were cleaned regularly and the towels were changed three times during our week there.  I do agree about doors - the cleaners did tend to leave the shutters open when they had finished cleaning - although not the patio doors, nor the front door.  Our room was clean when we arrived and stayed clean throughout the stay.  We did hear some similar complaints from those staying in rooms 31-88, though.

Ciaran M

Jim - Who said you'd complained?  Not me, if you read carefully.  My report, like yours, is based on actual experience.  Your experience was less than satisfactory.  No need to be so touchy.

Tony K

We have recently come back from the Two Brothers apartments (August 13th 2006) and agree with some of the comments that have posted so far, especially about the cleanliness. We must say that the cleaning in rooms 1-30 was appalling! Towels only changed once during the whole fornight, sheets not changed, found lots of hair everywhere and floors were not swept and toilet was not cleaned at all during our stay! The attitude of the maids who cleaned this block was very unfriendly and they did not once put a new toilet roll in the holder. We had to search them out everytime and ask them for a new toilet roll, which they responding with a mutter under they breath as though we had asked them for gold! Several times the maids left doors open, which was a safety hazard waiting to happen after what many people have said about break ins, especially as we were on the ground floor. Apart from that the rooms were basic, although some maintenance is desperately needed on them, e.g. changing light bulbs, screwing things to walls more solidly. The bar/ reception staff were very polite and were always willing to help.

Jim A

hi ciaran,

i just read ur comments and would like to point out to you a few mistakes which you made;

1.. we did not complain about the rep.

2.  we did not complain about the two brothers;

3.  we did not complain about the pool or the pool area.
 4.  we did not complain about the noise

What we did complain about and others like us that holidayed at the two brothers between 25th june and 9th july was the break-ins that happened when we stayed there.   You were fortunate to holiday in the apartments after these dates, but, I can assure you the reports you read before going on holiday are ALL TRUE AND JUSTIFIED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   We are really glad that you enjoyed your holiday and all the holiday makers after these dates did not go through the HELL we did.
I am sorry to sound nasty to you all but please take into consideration the dilemmas we all faced that that particular time and we are glad that security appears to be increased at the "BAD BLOCK" (your words) and that things seem to be on a par now.

Ciaran M

We returned from the Two Brothers Apartments, Kalamaki yesterday (14 Aug 06).  We also had concerns about the accomodation following the nreviews on this page.  Like Mandy I would like to add some positive feedback.

The Two Brothers (owners) - friendly enough, don't speak too much English so can seem a bit quiet and reserved.  Don't hold that against them.

The Rooms - we stayed in rooms 1 and 2 (in the really "bad block!").  No issues here at all. If you keep your doors and windows closed when you are not there and you use your safe deposit box then there will be no issue.  Air Con is a must - 5 Euros a day and well worth it - it means that you don't need the windows open.  There was a cleaner in attendance (around the block)all day so it would be difficult for anyone to wander around the corridors unnoticed.  It's not three star accomodation by UK standards and don't expect to be able to cook a decent meal.  Toast and tea is about the limit.  Rooms are basic and clean enough.  they are not hotel standard.  Aircraft noise is minimal and soon becomes unnoticeable.

Noise - That's down to your fellow guests.  The corridors do echo and loud noises in apartments above can be heard but mostly it was families in the  flats so it was relatively peaceful.   No noise from the night life at all and the  owners don't allow it to get too raucous in the bar area late at night.

Pool and Bar - Clean, tidy, free sunbeds, standard menu.  The pool was cleaner than some that we visited and the old boy and the dog make sure everything is sorted at the end of the night.

Location - Close enough to many bars and restaurants, far enough away so you can't hear them.  About 15-20 minute walk to the nearest beach but you do pass several swimming pools and bars (all the pools and bars are open to everyone - it sounds odd but works really well).  Several supermarkets also close by.  Almost all the bars cater for the English with lots of sport and popular soaps being shown in them.  Several restaurants do  good traditional food - I can thoroughly reccomend Castellao Restaurant.

The Rep - Stephanie is approachable and will try to help.  She will not promise what she cannot deliver.  She will help wherever possible.  She does a good job dealing with some of the issues she gets faced with.  If you are unfortunate to need an extra night at the end of the holiday (like us) because of poor flight times ask her early so she has you on her radar.  You won't find out till later but give her a chance to plan for it.  We got one albeit in a different set of apartments elsewhere in Kalamaki and, believe me, it's worth it if you can get it.  We would have had to vacate the room at 12.00 on the Sunday and we weren't getting collected until 05.00 on the Monday.  If you are the same, ask her to help if she can and don't expect to keep the same room - but if you are offered one elsewhere, take it

Summary - it's basic, it's not over-run with criminals, air con and deposit baxes are available - ignore at your  peril,  it's an ideal base for sleeping and showering, the pool is good, the location is good, the mosquitos bite - use spray and plugs.  The weather is hovering between 34 and 42C at the moment and rarely drops below 22 at night.  The rep in the resort is a friend not an enemy.

Enjoy it ... but don't expect five star luxury ... oh, and when the empty the cess pits it smells - surprisingly.  However, that is the same everywhere not just here.

- -

The accommodation is very nice and the owners are fantastic! we thought we would write a short message because of the bad reviews! we are currently staying at the two brothers and want to ensure other people that the accommodation is lovely and the rep is really helpful and friendly.

Before coming on holiday we readthe terrible reviews and nearly cancelled but im really glad we didnt! i dont want to go home on Sunday! :( but we are going to try and come again in October!

So everyone that is due to come to the two brothers you'll have a fab time! the rooms are basic but just what you need the pool and bar area is lovley....I dont want to go home

Mandy Hamilton

Sarah W

yeh we were absolutely fine when we were there...and we didn't hear of anyone else having problems either, i know how you are feeling because we read some negative comments before we went and it really did worry us and i was really scared. just use the safety deposit box in your room so you know your valuables are extra safe and then it keeps your mind at rest. the pool was lovely, not smelly or too cold when we were there....i am sure you will have a fab holiday..like we did!.....once my boyfriend gets the pictures done or uploads them onto the computer i can post some pictures for you

I H

hi, i go on holiday on the 10th of aug and before finding this website and reading the aprt reviews i couldnt wait to go on holiday and now im worried bout bein broken into and stolen from. so sarah, u thing there is nothing for me to worry bout????? wats this story bout the smelly pool???

Sarah W

forgot to say!........the room did have a new looking air conditioning unit that worked very well! i often had to turn it off in the night as i got too cold! it was well worth 5 euros a day, rather than baking in the heat!

Sarah W

hey....i went to the two brothers apartments with my boyfriend on the 20th july 06 for a week. we are only a young couple (17 and 19) and we had a fab time. We read the reviews on here the day before we were due to fly out, and i was really dreading going. the idea of people breaking in really scared me and i wasn't looking forward to spending time in a place that sounded dirty. however, when we got there, we were taken to room 71 which was on the 3rd floor of the main block, and it had a beautiful view over the pool, the room was small and simple but fine, with everything we needed. we took a short walk in to the main road of kalamaki and the location of the apartments is brilliant, a 2 min walk away from everything yet its peaceful and quiet. The first night i didnt sleep much because i was afraid that someone would break in, however, we did not encounter or hear of any trouble what so ever whilst we were there. i asked the rep about the break ins and she said that it was because people had left their rooms unlocked, which we will never know the truth about what happened. The shower was a bit dodgy but served its purpose! dont let the bad reviews spoil your holiday, just see it as advice to keep your property extra safe and you should be fine. we had a really good time and was very pleased with everything

Jim A

Just a  postscirpt for Ms Susan Taylor  (Room 20) who left her comments on the page re two Brothers kalamaki last evening--Firstly i hope that your holiday stay at the two brothers was event free re-possibility of being disturbed during the early hours in your room by uninvited guests--as for your comments re Costa ,&,Panos  yes i concur they are the most helpful pair you could ask for as landlords-but if you had taken the time to read my comments CORRECTLY  you would have seen that i made no reference to these two gentelmen being involved in the break-ins to the rooms--the reference i made was that when reported--the investagations as to how entry gained --no sign of forced doors or locks were evident--so they could not endorse any action taken by the Zante police--as for your observation that no comments had been placed by the unforunate guests who were robbed--in there place would you--knowing that the truama suffered by these guests at the time was trumatic enough for them--that as why when the rest of us at the time found out about their plight -we all rallied round ---maybe if you were there at the time you would have done the same for them---if you wish to reply to these further comments by me feel free to e-mail me on jammycam@yahoo.com .

to Liz hope beth is ok now , have ben thinking of her and having read your comments --yes---young harry and the rest of us felt really bad about her having her belongings stolen so keep your chins up , tarrah for now

The apartments are ok, but the security is poor as 3 apartments where burgled whilst i was there. The pool is ok and the breakfast and food they serve there is fair value.

hi mel,

just read ur comments and understand you have visited kalamaki several times,   we have too, but it was our 1st stay at two bros and it will be our last,  what you have read on the comments re 2 bros is true,  you should be alright if you make sure u have rooms 31-88, please do not accept room numbers 1-30 as most of the probs were in that block.

If you and ur family get the chance of a transfer please take it if it makes you feel saver.

Hope you and your family have a nice holiday and look 4ward 2 ur comments when u return.

hi there mel, just found ur e-mail and see that u r a regular in zante, so is my wife and i but it was the first time at two brothers and will b the last.

As u read in the comments wot went on when we were there is exactly as written, but, don't be put off by this, tell ur mum to make sure she has rooms 31 to 88 as most of the probs were in rooms 1-30, ( these rooms have nothing to do with the two brothers) at the end of the day if u can be transfered to another complex by all means take it,  hope this helps u a wee bit and have a nice holiday!!!! jim cameron ayrshire

I am stayin here next week with my mum and brother after reading a few notes on here, my mum is very worried. Can anyone help and tell us if to try and change our booking or let us know if they think it will be ok? thanks

Liz M

Hi, we've just returned from Kalamaki today and boy are we glad to be home.  Don't get me wrong Kalamaki was beautiful, great weather and we met some fantastic friends but the resort was terrible.  Anyone thinking of going to stay at the Two Brothers Apartments BEWARE !!!  Three people were robbed during our second week, this happens weekly when new guests arrive but Olympic keep it very quiet, Albanians with keys to the rooms and they rob you while you are sleeping.  The Olympic Rep Stephanie assured everyone who found out about the break-ins that its the guests own fault as they hadn't barricaded themselves in their room at night ie, blanket over the door, double lock the door, suitcases stacked behind the door and chair under door handle and as an added precaution keep a baseball bat next to your bed, leave the light on and don't drink to much or sleep too long........my 10 year old daughter Beth couldn't wait for bedtime!!  We asked the rep Stephanie to move us to the opposite apartments as she was too frightened to stay in our room as the 3 guys in the next room to us were robbed while they were sleeping in their beds, the safety consious Olympic staff flatly refused to move us, even though there were empty rooms available. If it hadn't been for Harry, Kate, Darren, Donna, Drew, Charlotte, Debbie, Shaun, Grev, Gwen, Sophie and all the rest we would of gone home.  Big thank you to you all for making our holiday really memorable especially the last night as we all jumped in the pool with our clothes on....what a laugh!!.  Big thank you to Harry for making Beth's holiday, she won't forget you for a long time, she treasures the bracelet.   Liz, Ian and Beth McIntosh, Arbroath, Scotland.

Peter K

Returned today 13th July apartments are not the best we have stayed in.Still had the marks from dead insects previous holidaymakers had swatted.Holiday turned into a sleepless one due to the fact that there were many break-ins ,so every noise you heard awoke you. Pissed.would not stay here again. The owners were not interested in the slightest. Here's a tip for them the cleaners cupboard which holds the master keys keep it locked ,on numerous occasions  it was left openOuch

James C

Just back from  Two Brothers Studios Kalamaki  9Th July--Holiday was not the best one we have had--Dirty rooms-Shower too small shower curtian to small so when you use shower room gets flooded---as for the heat it was 47 degrees nice for some but not me ---The island insect population had a field day bitten badly by the Mosquitos as they are out in force-or should i say flying in squadrons-- so ended up was dartboard for local doctor giving Steriod injections to my wife as she took a reaction to bites and was confined to complex for first week--Also when we booked we asked for ground floor room and were shown to room 69 on third floor up a rickity wooden fire escape--not safe--Rep  Stephanie (Olympic) managed to get us moved halfway through holiday to ground floor (room 8) we were now liable to the worst experience whilst on holiday anywhere--Rooms being broken into in the early hours by Albainians who according to locals have overun the island as police stretched to the limit dealing with complaints about them--When reported to police and Rep and Two brothers Costas and Panos--no action taken as rooms did not show signs of being forcfully entered--so draw your own concluision as to how entry gained--if you lost you room key( or had it stolen) you were charged 44 Euro for a new key but you did not get the lock changed on your room door so whoever had the key could enter your room at will the whole time we were there we and other guests barricaded themselves in at night to feel secure--so if you choose this complex be prepared -- hope you enjoy your holiday more than my wife and I did .   Jim Cameron Ayrshire Scotland

Went greece last may 05.Stayed in two brothers apartment with my girlfriend, arrived quite late evening and got to room and was very cold had to go straight to the bar to get a stiff drink. No heatin in room had to use the twin cooking stoves on full blast for half hour to warm up.Other than that was really good.Went out next day and rented mopeds very cheap-15 euros a day and about 3 euros to fill tank.was ridin round exploring zante laganas and drivin many scenic country routes.Went wakiki bar and that was wicked had a great time there, drinks bout 4-5 euros but you definetly get moneys worth i was spinnin when arrived back at apartment. The other issue with the rooms was that me and my girlfriend had two single beds pushed up close together  like a double bed but with a crease in the middle.I must say when i arrived back in england i really did miss that place it was so activeWould definetly go back again.the two brothers themselfs are really nice people and do anythin they can to be of great assistance.

Lesley S

Very basic, but more importantly, clean. Pool area was excellent, however being there so late in the season, venturing into the water would probably have caused a good bout of hypothermia, I'm not that brave! Cooking facilities not up to production of even beans on toast, two rings cannot really be classed as self catering facilities, however there are plenty of reasonably priced restaurants within easy walking distance. Some supermarkets produce "butties" to take to the beach so no problems eating during the day. There is a fridge in the room, so storing water, milk and most importantly beer is possible. The shower room provides a laugh a minute, tiny shower cubicle and the curtain, as previously mentioned by a fellow visitor, allows total flooding of the room!! The area surrounding the apartments is quiet, apart from the local dogs, who seem to have competitions as to who can bark the longest, loudest or latest!! On top of this, the local cockerals appear to have their clocks set at any other time than local time, certainly not crowing at just day break (unless the sun comes up at 1 am!!). All in all, as dedicated "Canariophiles" who had never been to Greece before, we had a belting time, and hope to return to Kalamaki very soon, whether it will be Two Brothers, who knows, but we would not rule it out.

Andrew S

Excellent accomodation in a brilliant location - cleanliness was very good, cleaned and tidied every day with clean sheets/towels evry third day.

Rooms were small and basic but as a base they were fine.

Only problem was every couple of days they had to empty the cess pool/tank and this did cause a smell in one particular area.

If you go there, try for one of the rooms 67 -71 as they are on the top deck, overlooking the pool, towards the mountains

We have just got back from Kalamaki, Zante and the resort was great fun. The two brothers is OK it is very basic like most greek accommodation. Only rooms 1-20 have air con and the rest you can hire a fan from the owners luckily we had a decent fan which kept the room just right. Its in a good location just off the main strip so your not kept awake by traffic of bar noise but you may be woken by the local dogs barking and the cockerels! My only complaint is that the overall cleanliness of rooms wasn't really great there was a lot of hair in the bathroom and floor on our arrival and I found a broom and swept it myself most days because it was never done properly. It was splash and dash but you could see the few maids that were there had so many rooms to do in very little time I didn't mind doing it. It is a good location for everything, shops bars etc only few minutes walk and the beach about 10 mins. Book your trips in the resort it is a lot cheaper then the reps prices. Oh and if you go to the water park go after 2pm, get a taxi between you if there is four or more of you it works out cheaper then the organised trips and have freedom with your timing. Also after 2pm it's cheaper to get in because believe me there is not a lot there really, 7 main slides, small lazy river, kids pool and adult pool, it hasn't got the wow factor at all! At least you won't fight for sun beds there are plenty of those!
It's a good place to go, so go if it's your thing I am still discovering the Greek islands and have plenty to go to still so I won't be returning just yet!

Elizabeth P

Could anyone email  me photos of the rooms please

I am going Sept 1st, Also any advice on trips etc would be graet

Emma

Have just got back from holiay here and have really enjoyed it. The apartments and the pool were really clean. The snack bar downstairs is cheap too. A little noisy on a night but nothing too bad!

Steve W

We have just got back from two weeks at the Two Brothers and had a fantastic time, would be more than happy to recomend it.

The accomodation is basic but only what you would expect from going to Greece.  It was clean and tidy and had everything that we needed.  We dont cook on holiday so the lack for cooking utensils didnt bother us.  The pool bar is nice, serves food all day and you can get all the drinks and snacks that you need.  The pool is slightly on the small side but wasnt to much of a problem.  It is very close to the main strip of Kalamaki but not to noisey.

Kalamaki has many excellent Bars and Tavernas, plenty to keep you going for two weeks.

The Beach is a 10 minute walk away and an excellent place to hire a Pedalo and catch a glimps of the famous Turtles!!

Lagana is also only 5 minutes away by taxi if you fancy a bit more nightlife, but beware of the cocktails, they tend to leave you with a hangover the next day, not good!!

Reading through these comments about the Two Brothers apartments, I can see some people liked the apartments and some people didn't. This is because in this complex there are different standard rooms that they supply to their guests.

My boyfriend and I booked a room, from the 16th June, for two weeks, total costings were over £900.00. We got given 'room' 72. which, to anyone who has stayed in it would know, it was dark and musky, had rotten window frames, no proper terreced area, no where what to ever to class as living space. (basically - bed, shower and a very poor kitchen). The bathroon rail was broken and the loo didn't flush properly. We spent aprox 1 hour in this room before fleeing to Vanessa Aparthotel, which was cheaper, cleaner, much larger and had  a bit of living space, oh and a double bed, plus two twins in another room!

After speaking to our olympic rep, we were informed that there was no other accomodation availible for us at present and would have to stay in Vanessa untill the next lot of guests left. which was 3 days. We were then offered another room at Two brothers, a pool facing  apartment with a balcony, which was basic but it was  paradise comapared to room 72. However, we declinded this room as we were already settled and Vanessa, and moving again would of caused us more stress.... Something you go on holiday to get away from.

kalamaki itself is beautiful and had no more complaints for the rest of the two weeks.... fantastic!

oop's the brekkie was 4.90 not 5.90 sorry!

Sharon E

My husband,James and I both loved it here,ok it's not the Ritz, it is very basic(the norm in Greece), but it is kept very clean with a nice little pool, nice bar and lovely people running it.

And by the way, try the food there, it's really tasty and the breakfast are great value for money, 5 euros 90 cents for two eggs, bacon,2 sausage, mushrooms, beans and tomatoes, plus you get orange juice, tea or coffee and two rounds of toast and jam, a real bargain!
We will certainly be returning.

Danielle S

The apartments were great. All the staff friendly as family run. No complaints what so ever. Would definitely go back.Loved the bars nearby.

Mitchell C

Stayed here for 2 weeks end of May / beginning of June, and I have only one complaint............... I had to go home. I've seen some of the complaints;- "the kitchen was very  basic, there was water on the floor when you have a shower, " etc. I went with my 12 year old daughter, and my best mate, who had the appartment nextdoor. We all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, and wouldn't hesitate to go back.

The appartments were kept very clean, the pool area was well proportioned, with the pool itself cleaned daily. The pool bar was well stocked, providing all the usual in drinks, a very good breakfast, a selection of hot and cold meals and snacks throughout the day, and even all your favourite chocky bars in a fridge by the bar.
A good base to enjoy the resort. Not too close so you're kept awake by revellers, but only 5 minutes walk, and there are some very good bars and restaurants to do the cooking for you. We ate out every night for an average £7-00 each, inc. drinks with the meal.

Could someone please give me a review on the Klelia Hotel in Kalamaki as i have found no reviews and am going at the end of june........

Sharon E

Could somebody give me any details about these apartments, we arrive in 4 weeks time and there are so many differing comments here I don't know wether to be worried or excited.

Also what is the weather like in June? we usually go in September and I'm assuming that it will be hotter in June, but I want to know just how much hotter?.

Julie

regarding the last post....regarding toilet rolls.as being self catering what is the problem with buying your own i really dont think its a great hardship.Yes its very basic for cooking utensils.but come on your on holiday its really cheap to go out for a meal.who want to be tied to the kitchen when your on holiday.I would RECOMEND the two brothers apartments..great place spend a fantastic two weeks here.fab pool and the staff are really nice...your in greece so dont expect it to be a 5 star place....

Dennis M

WE stayed at the Two Brothers for 2 weeks at the end of September. To say that we were V. Disappointed would be an understatement, but this may be more to do with the rating given by Olympic for the accommmodation. In our appartment, the kitchen flooded everytime you had a shower (which BTW hot and cold were correct, but on the sink were not. The walls were covered in dead Mossies and I could write my name in the dust under the bed (I erased it when we left). After the first toilet roll ran out, we had to ask for one each time even after leaving the roll empty before the maid was due to come in and clean. There were no utensils to cook with, there was no Plug for the Bathroom Sink and if you wanted any of these Items you had to Purchase them yourself because Olympic have not asked them to supply these things. These Apartments IMHO are Room only + and If I had paid the £900.00 Brochure price, I would be Incandescent with rage, instead of just seething. I'm sorry, but There is nothing Nice I can say about this place apart from you're only one minute from the main drag, so it don't take long to get away from. Kalamaki itself is superb and there are loads of Pool Bars available to escape to. Oh we did ask the rep to move on day two but they wanted us to pay 15euro a day for the priveledge. So what exactly do you get to self cater with: 2xknives, 2xforks, 2xbowls, 2xplates, 2xteaspoons, 1 frying pan 1 x water pan & a milk Jug that's it so you have to eat with the same stuff you prepared the food with. There's no hot water in the Kitchen The kettle will get you one mug of tea if you're lucky, and the floors are treacherous after a shower so watch any kiddies. I would not, and could not recommend this to families with small children. Before booking here, try and find other accommodation first.

C W

Ok, here is the truth about the Two Brothers apartments... The
pool and bar area are really lovely. My husband and I looked at a
lot of other places around the island when we arrived (you see
lots just as you walk around) and I'd have to say that the Two
Brothers definitely was one of the nicest. Loved the bar area with
the palm trees - really nice place to have one of thier great
breakfasts (which are very tasty - lovely fried eggs!). The pool
isn't huge, but was big enough for us and there were enough
sun loungers - although you have to pay 1 and a half euros for
the sponge bit that goes on top (but i think this is pretty standard
for the island). The location is great - only about a two minute
walk to the main 'strip' of bars and restaurants, but far enough
away that you don't hear any of that at night. Also, you don't get a
lot of people walking past as you relax by the pool that you get at
some of these places.
However, the actual room we had was pretty shabby. They are
clean, but basic isn't really the word. Put it this way, we had to go
into the capital the day after we arrived so that we could buy
some pillows as we were not going to spend another night
laying our heads on what were like gravel filled flat pillows that
smelt of musty old socks (this is no exaggeration! You have
been warned!) If you go and need to buy a pillow, we got ours
from a linen shop near the main square in the capital - they were
about 5 euros each!
I'd agree with previous comments about the showers. Take flip
flops as the floor is extremely slippery - we nearly broke our
necks. Also, there is no room in there for them to hang the
shower on the wall, so we had to hold the shower head for each
other while we took a shower.
The kitchen facilities were appalling - no space (literally about 30
inch square food preperation area which is the draining area of
the sink) and the tin opener they provided was rusted over and
blunt.
But hey, that's what self catering in Greece is all about. I'm sure
that some of the bigger rooms are a lot nicer (we were in the
block away from the pool on the ground floor - but 'away from
pool' is only about 20 yards so it's not far at all). As long as you
don't mind about the rooms, this is def the place to stay.
Don't worry about noise from the airport. There are only about
five planes a day and we didn't even notice it most of the time.
Restaurants - most of the restaurants serve pretty much the
same standard of food. Do try Buon Amici, nice italian. The only
outstanding restaurant we came across was Hong Kong on the
old road in Kalamaki. We couldn't believe it - the service was
amazing and I have to say that it was the best Chinese meal I'\ve
ever had - anywhere. Really really fresh, light tasting ingredients.
you have to wait a while for your food, but that's only becuase
they are cooking it from fresh. Definitely the best restuarant on
the island.
Laganas - loud, noisy and full of young kids trying to get p'd on
fishbowl cocktails. But great for film bars. If you plan to go
dancing, we were there one night until midnight and still there
was no dancing going on anywhere - so be prepared to wait until
one am or later for dancefloor action.
Also, be warned, the island is quite expensive on a day to day
basis. If you're looking for an allround 'cheapie', I'd go to the
canary islands.
Beaches - no great beaches apart from Banana beach which is
really beautiful. Most of the beaches have dirty looking sand and
are mostly very very narrow. - Don't go to Zante for the beaches
really - although we did find a beautiful place called Liminioa (or
something like that) on the west coast which isn't a beach but a
cove - lovely blue water and fantastic restaurant at top of the cliff.
Anyway, have a great time, hope this has been of some help!

Hi. We are getting married next year in Alykes (May/June 2005.) We have been to Zakynthos before (Kalamaki)and loved it, so that's why we chose the island for our wedding/honeymoon. Anyone out there got any "must go to" places that they can recommend?Or for that matter any "must avoid" places? Or for that matter, any help or advice that you might have to offer. PS Please no "Don't do it" pieces of advice, I've already had a few dozen of them.

Lee M

WE STAYED AT THE TWO BROTHERS APPARTMENTS IN JUNE 2004, AND HAD A GREAT STAY. THE ROOMS ARE BASIC BUT CLEAN. THERE WAS A FRIDGE TWO HOBS A SINK AND A KETTLE. A SMALL BATHROOM WITH A SHOWER SINK AND A TOILET THE SHOWERS A VERY BASIC BUT ALL PART OF THE FUN OF GOING TO GREECE. THE TWO BROTHERS WHO OWN THE HOTEL COULDNT DO ENOUGH TO HELP YOU THEY ARE REALLY NICE GUY. ITS SITUATED JUST FAR ENOUGH FROM THE MAIN DRAG THAT YOU CANT HEAR IT BUT CLOSE ENOUGH TO WALK (EASILLY)
THE POOL IS LOVELY AND THE BAR FOOD WAS NICE. SOME PLACE YOU SHOULD DEF VISIT IN KALAMAKI
1: MICHALOS REST'T FANTASTIC PROPER GREEK FOOD AND RESONABLE, TAKE A LEFT OUT OF TWO BROS THEN A RIGHT AND FOLLOW THAT ROAD UNTIL IT ENDS MICHALOS IS ON THE LEFT. ITS THE BEST FOOD I HAVE EATEN.
2: MERMAIDS BAR IS A REALLY NICE PLACE TO EAT AS WELL ESPECIALLY THE BREAKFASTS.
3: THE CAVE BAR. IS A REALLY ROMANTIC PLACE TO GO AS WELL
4: THE VENUE ITS A GOOD LAUGH OWNED BY NIKO AND SHAUN ITS A REALLY GOOD NIGHT OUT KAREOKE, MUSIC LIVE SPORTS AND A GREAT COCKTAIL MENU. TRY A FLAMING LAMBOGHINI IF YOUR DARING ENOUGH.
ALL IN ALL WE HAD A GREAT TIME IN KALAMAKI AND TWO BROS WAS A LOVELY PLACE TO STAY, A FAMILY RUN BUSINESS WHO CARE ABOUT THERE GUESTS

Viki F

We actually stayed at the White House appartments which are situated across the road from the 'Two Brothers' but used the facilities daily. It has a lovely location away from the noisy main street and a beautiful garden area and bar. The brothers and their family will do everyting they can in their gentle manner to help you have an enjoyable stay

Andy W

Cheap and cheerful apartments. Cleaner did a great job. Good sized pool, cleaned every day (bit grimey around the edges. Short walk from civilization. Kalamaki is fantastic for couples/young families. If it's a party you are after go to Laganas. Try and eat at as many of the restaurants as possible, as I didn't have one bad meal, infact they were all great. I would avoid "Famous Mermaids" though. It just gets far too busy, and when there are cheaper, quicker, and better food served all over Kalamaki then why bother with the one that "boasts the loudest". Make sure to check out the "Cave bar", and get the buggy up the hill. Watch out for the "flower girls" EVERY time you sit down to have a meal; they are damned persistant. Take a trip or two, and shop around, the prices vary between tour operators (and don't buy your trips with the company you booked your holiday through; what a rip off). You'll love it, Two Brothers is a more than adequate place to stay (if you get used to the shower - but that's bog standard Greece for you). Drink the local beer (Mythos), drink cocktails aplenty (between 2.5 and 4.5 Euros). The Two Bros do a couple of mean cocktails. Sorted me out on more than one occaision. Oh yeah, and if you go in July/August take plenty factor 25. You will frazzle otherwise. I did, and boy did it hurt.

Angie

We stayed at the 2 Brothers in September last year and after reading some of the reviews we were quite worried. When we got their we were quite shocked at the rooms but then this is typical of Greece.

They did have a fan for rent but we didnt bother with it and felt we didnt need it as long as we kept the metal blinds closed all day so the sun could not shine through. I would also recommend the mosquito oil burner, only cheap but well worth it, I only got bitten twice in two weeks. The maids came round every other day and tidied up (even did our washing up).

We heard no noise from the airport, it did become noisy on the occassions we were in the hotel before 12 from the bars but it didnt go on all night.

The shower curtain was only 3/4 of the way to floor and the bathroom and room became drenched with water and quite slippy, so be careful but that probably goes for most apartments in Greece.

The swimming pool became "poorly" whilst we were there but to be honest we hardly used the hotel facilities.

Two Brothers is about a 5/10 minute walk from one of the main streets, be sure to check out the Cronulla (brilliant atmosphere), Mermaids (brilliant food), Appollon (brilliant cocktails), Smile Tours (brilliant service for days out etc).

Enjoyable holiday!!

Julie O

Hi Amanda, we stayed in the Two Brothers last May. Had a wonderful time. Didn't get much noise from the aircrafts, just a few dogs barking every now and then. The beach is about a 15 minute walk, but well worth it and there are bars and restuarants starting from about 2 minutes away from the apartments. The main "strip" I would say is about 5/10 minutes away, but there are plenty of places to eat and drink i.e. Mermaids and Down Under Bar that you will pass on your way there. Hope you have a good time.

Amanda

I am planning to stay in the Two Brothers apartments this summer and just wanted to know if anyone experienced much noise from the airport? and how far is it from bar, restaurants, beach?

Michael R

Although we stayed at the Dias Studios just a short distance from The Two Brothers Apartments we ate breakfast here every morning. I availed myself of the special breakfast which more than set me up for the day. The brothers are very accomodating and pleasant. We stayed here in May and probably will do so again.

Rachel H

Just arrived home and had to add comments. We were in Apartment 64, on arrival there was a fan and 12 bottles of water, for hire/purchase - what a good idea - would recommend the fan and then evening temperatures fine. We overlooked the pool and looked out high on the mountains beyond. Yes the kitchen facilities are basic but fine for breakfast etc - basic but lovely furniture etc. Yes showering becomes an art, but that is the same all over Greece - part of the magic! We took extra loo roll - be prepared. Bins were emptied daily - beds tidied and towels/beds changed once in our week, everything very clean - especially the pool, which was looked after very well. General noise - no problem, we were there during a religious festival and the Greek Orthadox singing/chanting did go on, but part of the local flavour!! Their party the next night also went on into the early hours but that was our only disturbed night. Planes no problem at all, but interesting to see them go off! Sun beds, plenty, though people did get up early to put towels on beds, but what a shame to stay round the pool all day - go to the wonderful beaches!!! Hints - we did take tea towel, dishcloth, tea, coffee and cereal just to get us going. We had a mosqito mat, bought in Cyprus, though you can get them at the airport, and from the local supermarket bought mosquito coils, we put one on the balcony each evening and left it to burn out during the night, this meant we could leave balcony doors open all night without fear of being bitten! Yes the beaches are a bit of a walk 15 mins - turn right out of the Two Brothers, to end of little road - turn right at top along main road - turn left opposite Hotel Vanessa, roadway and track - at end turn left follow road to beach. It is lovely - plenty of sunbeds but not busy. Beautiful clean clear water, clean beach, lovely views - do walk up to Stani Restaurant for lunch/drinks, overlooks bay. Do, do see the island - we had a boat trip and hired a car, from Eurocar (we did have a breakdown, at the top of the island on a Sunday, in an hour we had a new car!! - better service than the UK). Finally everyone is very helpful, friendly, the restaurants are brilliant and cheap - but do eat and drink Greek - Mythos beer is great. Have a brilliant holiday.

Karla L

just got back from a 2 week holiday here! it was fab! ok yeah it was basic but as alot of peaople said it is greece! im 15 i went with with me mum dad my brother 13 his friend and my friend! as u can guess us 4 kids had to share 1 apprtment between us we got 1 of the beds from my parents room and put it in ours! at first we dint think we were gunna cope with us all in their but it actually turned out to pretty fun i mean we ate out evrynite! i do reccomend the patholn resturant and the mermaids espessialy wen they have the greek nite wich includes traditional greek dancing and plate smashing dnt miss it! the pool is lovley and is really easy to grab a sunbed! the food is lovley down at the snack bar espeicly the english breakfast and is cheap 2! i was down the beach most of time its really nice down there but it is a long walk! ohh yeah and last thursday we had an eathqauke it measured 4.6 then had another tremor after it was really wicked! the dogs are kinda annoying though cuz they dnt stop barking but u get used to it! well i really enjoyed myself here and cuz theres no age limit on drinking lol i would be happy to c*m again as this was my first ever holiday abroad! a good holiday is what u make of it!

Sandie S

Have just returned for a week here. The accomodation was well worth the money- ok the cooking facilities were not much but your on hoilday its cheap enough to eat out. Food at the bar was superb and saftey boxes and fans are available. The location was quite bar the nuns singing which did wake me up once. However most apartments were a walk from the beach so if travelling with small children 15-20 mins walk may be too much and would recommend a taxi which turns up on the spot and is very cheap. The pool was lovely and had a choice of sunbeds in the shade and ample seating in and outside the bar. It did rain last week so took a trip to lagunas( prob misspelt) which was a change and had a good variety of shops and pubs even had a mini golf course. Overall if zante airport improves i would definatly returen to the two brothers a great overall family run, friendly and very clean hotel.

Andyy D

i would recomend these apartments to everyone, basic but very very clean, maid service was excellant, the two brothers were very helpful and polite.food was fab..will certanly be back here ....damm tooting

Pam C

After reading the comments about The Two Brothers we were quite worried about our holiday, but our fears were unfounded. The apartments were clean and adequate, we ate out most of the time, all the restaurants we went to were very good, and you didn't have to go far either. The snack bar at the apartments was very good as well. The swimming pool was excellant and cleaned every evening. The two brothers Costos and Panos and their family couldn't have been more friendlier and helpful. Our Rep.Naomi was brilliant, if we had a problem she would sort it out. A must is the Wednesday b.b.q.and quiz night at the apartments. The planes were not a nuisance,in fact it was fascinating to watch them land and take-off as the airport is not far away(but far enough). Yes, there were it's downfalls like the emptying of the cesspits but as there is no drainage system it has to be done, but don't get too close the stench is vile. Then there was the dogs, when one started barking the others would follow anytime day or night. The beach is lovely, the sea is clear but it is a fair walk. When we were there the weather was very hot, one day the temp. reached 47C, so be prepared. However,we had a really good holiday and would go back there again.

Sam W

Just to confirm, we also saw the comments on this site prior to departing to the Two Brothers in May and could not believe our luck once we arrived - Modern, basic rooms and fabulous pool. I have paid far more for a far worse holiday before and would eagerly return to the Two Brothers if I visited Kalamaki again.

Helen K

Well said Shane Lloyd! Exactly what I was trying to say in my comments from my visit last year.
Would still love to go back and all eight of us that went loved the holiday and the appartments.
We read the bad comments before we visited and it really disappointed us until we arrived and
found out that everything was great and people just like to moan! LIVE IT!

Sammie B

I went 2 these apartments 2 years ago, they are ok. Our room was really small with no self catering bits as promised in the deal. Its about a 10 min walk from the beach which is not too bad. The only warning i will give is that they never give enough toilet paper!!!! so go prepared.

Shane L

My Girlfriend and I have just returned from Kalamaki-Zakynthos. I would not usually post reviews regarding hotel accomodation but in this case feel it is necessary to. (Just to correct those who complain and winge at everything..!!)

I booked the holiday through Olympic for my girlfriends birthday and read the accomodation reviews after doing so. As many of you have said, I too was really concerned about this holiday after reading some of the bad reviews on this page. This really spoilt the weeks leading up to my holiday because I was gutted that we may be staying in what seemed to be the worst reviewed appartment in the resort...!!!

When we got there, I could not express my delight. Wow..!! What a nice looking place. That was in the daytime - At night time it looks even better. In truth, it was hard to find nicer looking appartments than ours. There are several blocks of appartments with a central pool (We stayed on the groung floor room 57) - The bar/snack bar also looks onto the pool. Surrounding us were a multitude of palm trees etc. That were highlighted by spotlamps during the evening - BEAUTIFUL -.

The appartments themselves were fairly basic but clean! Every couple of days, a maid comes and gives a general clean and issues new towels. There was modern furniture, even a couple of pictures on the wall. The shower was an experience... no curtain or place to hang the shower head, but who rally cares..!! - Remember this is Greece -.

Some reviews have commented on the lack of cooking facilities. Come on.... who really goes on holiday to stay in and cook...!!! I really am reminded how arrogant and pig headed some people can be...!!!

I read one review complaining about the sewer smell wofting across the pool (Can I ask where you stayed...!!!). This is simply not true, the pool is very clean and has chlorine put in it every night. Only a hand-full of times did we smell sewage, and that was away from the accomodation...!!! Some fool even complained about aeroplanes flying over.... I must remind you, that Zakynthos operates a 'NO NIGHT FLIGHT' system due to the turtle population on the island. As far as daytime noise is concerned....SO WHAT..... Your on Holiday.... and if it wasn't for the local airport, you probably wouldn't even be there. Some people are so dull and boring... If you want peace and quiet, stay at home..!!

So please, do not take notice of these winging, pessimistic fools.... Remember, you just can't please some people..!! I hope at least I have re-assured you if you are going here soon.... -My only advice to you - HIRE A FAN...!!!-

Sandie S

just bookes a hol at two brothers when i was told the resort is miles away from the beach and through a dirt track. please tell me this is not true!

Nick L

A much better place than the brochure said!
In all the 'Brothers' is a good location off the main road. BUT this does not mean that it is quiet !. As the weather was so hot, we had to have the balcony doors open at night and the amount of noise from dogs barking, cockerals going off from 0330, mopeds burning around and the birds......Bring some ear plugs !!
We stayed in the North/South facing apartments on the first floor. We could actually get a bit of breeze if we left our bathroom window open.
You can hire fans for 1.5 euros per day. You will need them. Alternatively, they have rooms with a.c. for an extra 5 euro. Having worked in hot countries I don,t usually have a problem with heat, but it has been extremely hot there for the past couple of weeks.

The pool area is nice and clean and enough sunbeds to go around for everybody. The Pool bar is good and don,t charge too much for their drinks and snacks. I would recommend their light breakfast. For 3.30 euros you get tea/coffee, orange juice, toast, eggs, bacon, beans.....BARGAIN !!

The only annoying thing about the apartments was the fact there was no shower curtain so water gets everywhere and beomes a major ice rink on the tiles! . They provide two small towels which are not adequate. I would bring with you extra towel with you to soak it up.

Also you may need to ask for toilet rolls as they don't replace empty ones !

I would certainly recommend this place for the friendlyness and accomodation and would certainly come back here if i was to return to Kalamaki.

Sharon S

we have just come back from two brothers and loved it ' the bruvers are brill freindly polite as all the cleaners were brill as well bar stayed open as long as there was some one drinking will definitly go back there again.

Karen C

just come back from two brothers, first impression was far nicer than olmypic brouchers photo. The two brothers are quiet and friendly, the apartments are very clean and furniture is new, anything you need, the brothers will help as much as they can. Do try their breakfast and special tuna salad. Dont believe cosstos there are no little monkeys up the banana trees .But if you want to see the hen and chickens in the trees, turn left outside the apartments then right about 300yards up the road to Michaelos on the left, about 7 oclock at night your see them ,honest I wasnt drunk all the time.

Helen K

went in June this year. Didn't have time to count the plates and cutlery, so I couldn't tell you how many there were but there were enough. Had a great holiday , appartments were great and the brothers were very polite and helpful as were the cleaners, who seemed to be there all the time brushing and mopping. We did have to buy some bog roll during our stay but don't worry it didn't ruin the holiday! The other guests were great apart from these two sumos splashing everyone with a splatball(mention no names!!)

Nicola W

me and my friend H stayed in the two brothers for 1 week at first we were a little disheartened as it wasnt what we expected at all but it had the basics and did us for the wk.all the owners are really nice and will help if they can (as their english int brill)overall it wasnt too bad.
