Hi Linda

If you look at the link below written by Carol it will give you to link to their web site.  They are not called the Neraida anymore.

Hi there, we have previously stayed at the Neraida bungalows twice and loved it both times, such a shame they are not in any of the brochures.  I have heard they are now independent.  By the way they have changed names here is the link to the web-site:   http://www.zanteweb.gr/zakynthos.zante/en/agia-kiriaki

Hope this helps!!

Avril, do you know the web address for the Neraida Bungalows. If so, please post it on here when you see this, as we are one of those families which would love to return soon.

Thanks in anticipation.Michele.

Don't expect much with the accomodation here, very basic and shabby, bathroom was a no go area, particularly as it was always under 2 foot of water from the shower. Maid is nice and smiles but does little else.

Pool area isn't too bad and the water was clean apart from the day someone hosed the pool side area into the pool. Small shop, cafe and bar. Staff are fairly friendly.

Desperately needs updating to keep up with the newer accomodation along the beach.

reply to john melody> my mum was there in june this year and talked to andreas,he said all the apartments are being refurbished this season and starting from next year he said first choice was probably taking over from kosmar.i was there last year even though i enjoyed the location the apartments and especially around the far end of the pool area was dirty

Why are all the positive comments seem to have been written by the same person? They all have the same bad spelling and the same gramatical problems... Strange... And they all have such nice tings to say about the brothers...

As Kosmar have pulled out from the neraida bungalows does anyone know if there is anyone still using them and how we can make a booking

Jan&mick

we have stayed at neraida many times and it is one of our most favourite places in the world.Yes,the apartments need updating, but as regards friendliness, beautiful location and genuine charm, you will look a long way for better. If it is true that Kosmar are considering removing Neraida bungalows from their list ,it will be upsetting for many people i have met in Alikanas over the years, who i know come back year after year to this lovely location, right on the beach.I am puzzled because we have had to book 1 year in advance many times to get in the Neraida and several years have been unable to stay there as it is so popular and fully booked. My family much prefer a genuine greek family apartment to the brand new,air conditioned battery hen style apartments with no charachter that can be found elsewhere in the same resort. To all those going there, this year,i am jealous!! It is a place we will always return to.

JUST BEEN INFORMED THAT KOSMAR IS PULLING OUT OF NERAIDA BUNGALOWS FOR 2005!

Kylie A

The only doctor that is recommended is in Laganas, but she does come out to you. We found a chemist in Tsvili but there probably is one closer, if not its only about 13 euros to get there. The diving is at St Nicholas Beach and I think it was about 56 euros, cant be sure. Hope this helps.

Just got back today from this wonderful place. The bungalows are cleaned everday, Soula the boss lady is very nice her son andreas is a good laugh and speaks excellent english. The weather was fantastic it rained one night so who cared about that. We came back with tans to die for. For an excellent meal we suggest romanza on the road between the beach and alykanas. Owned by another of Soulas sons the food was excellent though i suggest going around seven and eight before it gets busy the service is excellent and all reasonably priced. If you want a good day out take the robinson crusoe trip by boat around the island we saw dolphins though no turtles. tips ake extra toilet roll and your own bath towells and have simple peaceful fun.

We went to the Neraida in August last year and liked it so much we are returning again in two weeks time. We found the family very sociable and helpful. OK the accommodation is very basic, but this is Greece !! We had the electricity cuts and no water for a while but it did not spoil our holiday at all. We have been to different parts of Greece for many years and this is really the norm, so maybe Blackpool would suit many of the previous guests!! Andreas was very pleasant and friendly to our family. He does play music quite late because this is what some guest want, not everyone wants to go to bed early on holiday but he does turn the music down after midnight.
We fully intend to enjoy our holiday and thing that your holiday is what you make it and the people you meet. We suggest if you want a quiet holiday, visit a graveyard !! SEE YOU IN TWO WEEKS ANDREAS !!

We have just come back from a two week thoroughly relaxing break and think alot of the comments made are very unfair.Although we had a fair share of problems most were sorted out thanks to Liz. Hopefully everthing at neraida has been sorted as there were rumours that kosmar were pulling out which would be a shame as Soula and all of sons were friendly and helpful even though we haven't got a teenage daughter! The veiw from our bungalows could not be matched, as for loud music from the bar we hardly noticed as it was turned down before midnight-aren't you supposed to be enjoying yourselves anyway.Romanza run by soulas son is excellent again brilliant hospitality and value for money.Deimtri likes to wet you around the pool but at 40+deg who cares. We would like to return one day so good luck soula lets hope your parents see sense and put the work in,as for the wingers it is greece so what do you expect-try Blackpool!!!

Well what can i say. The studio bungalows are dirty. The shower rooms are dirty and inadequate. You get an electric shock from time to time of the showers when turning them on. If you can call it a shower!!!! No hot water at all, always cold. For 3 days we had no water in 1 of our apartments good job we had 2. The cleaner would come in every morning and just mop over any dirt or bits that was on the floor. The beds smelt, the bedding sheets were rock hard as were the mattresses. As for the pool area, the water was always dirty and on one of the days it was full of poo due to the Andreas and his mates coming in the middle of the night and jumping in. As for the family they only like you if you had a teenage daughter that Andreas could get his hands on, if you didnt they dont want to know you!!! As for the other brother, he would always be in the pool around 3pm and start being rough with all the youngsters, dunking them under the water, throwing things at them, and constantly picking them up and throwing them in. Our stay was an absolute joke from start to finish. I wouldnt go here again even if i was offered this holiday for free!!!! It was terrible!!!! The only good thing was the rep Liz, very nice and helpful when ever you needed anything!!!

27th June to 11 July
We had a fabulous time at the Neraida Bungalows, the best thing about this holiday was the location, the worst thing was the accommodation, which was ok for us because we are used to holidaying in Greece. Please note, you will not get a kettle or a toaster, the showers, or should I say, wet room.... are not attached to wall and you have to hold it over your head. We went with 2 young children who loved it. The family who run the Neraida are fine, Soola and her sons are nice people. Please note if you get a bungalow by the pool, Andreas will play music quite loud in the bar up till 4ish in morning. A must visit while you are there is the Mill Bar, great pool and lovely family who run it. They run best greek night, don't be a fool and miss it.
One last thing, Zante airport is tiny, and when leaving you will find it crammed full of people, my advice, just chill and wait for the plane to come in.

There are picture in the database, even though it says not, I've just added them.

Myself, my boyfriend and his family (including 3 children) have just returned from the Neraida Bungalows. I found them to be clean and tidy, with nice outside patios, perfect for having a last glass of wine on at night. The location is good, we have been to Alykanas before but stayed at other places, this was perfect for quiet days by the pool and the beach, as the beach was simply down the pool side steps.

Restaurants and bars are a 10 - 15 minute walk away. I thought the accommodation was nicely sited tucked away by the harbour. I enjoyed the two weeks and would definately visit again.

If you are going it is advisable to bring a kettle!

Kylie R

Myself, husband and 3 year old daughter arrived at Neraida at the beginning of May to find that the Neraida was ready for us but not the town of Alykanas, however the next day things began to be cleaned up. We were in a 4 people bungalow which was a double bed and 2 single. At first there was a few problems in the bungalow, e.g. cracked tiles, drain top lose on bathroom floor etc, but after mentioning it to our rep Liz, everything was corrected the following day. It was a lot quieter than we had expected and we thought we would hate stopping there for two weeks, but as the first week went on and we got to know our way around the place, with help from Liz, we found it very friendly and relaxing, alot more restaurants that were being built in the first week were open in the second week. A very good one to try (and cheaper than anywhere else) is Andraes's sister's one called Romanja, just round the corner from Neraida. Some of the horse and carriage rides operate as taxi's after a certain time. The music in the poolbar can be quite loud depending on how many people are there and it closes when the last customer leaves. Liz was an excellent rep and can't wait to see her again. If you are planning in going in May next year I would suggest to leave the first week and maybe go in the second, also book from the 1st edition brochure it was £230 cheaper for us to go next year than when we booked out of the 2nd edition one last year.
