does anyone know the area code for planos? we have a really impotant magazine to send to maria and manos. they gave us their card years ago, but it does not have that on the address.

Juliet L  (23 June 2005)

click to enlargeWe returned to Manos Grill for the 5th year this May.

As usual great service, food and staff.  Stifado and Kleftiko wonderful, and the Manos salad was a dream.
Thank you to Maria, Manos and the gang for making us so welcome.
Yianni and Toni having a well earned rest after hours.

Ben J  (11 June 2005)

This has to be the best place to eat, me and my family eat here every night maria and manos make the place so special.Manos is such a lovely cook most of the people eating in the restaurant would want manos to cook for them at home his steaks are so special everything is so fresh and well presented.
We are going back in september and will def be in there every night

Thanks Maria and Manos you made our holiday

And if you want them to make urs get in there ASAP

Samantha H  (09 June 2005)

Food is excellent.  The bread basket would have been filled all night.  Very friendly staff .  Pork Souvlaki, chicken kebab all excellent.  Had a thunderstorm the night we were there - very entertaining watching the staff pull over the covers and the light show out to sea.

Robert H  (23 May 2005)

Sorry, forgot to rate it in the last message.

Robert H  (23 May 2005)

What a joy to eat in this restaurant, Manos, Maria, Tony and the other lads you made our holiday.  Food delicious, atmosphere fantastic and being in such friendly company made for evenings to remember.  I can't decide which dish I liked best but must just mention the prawn saganaki, makes my mouth water just to think of it.  Thanks for a wonderful time, we WILL be back.

Juliet L  (02 May 2005)

Best Wishes to Manos, Maria, and the rest of the gang for the new season. We will be back for 2 weeks on May 16th. See you then.

Juliet & Nicholas

Gaynor J  (21 October 2004)

This is a fantasic place to eat. Maria and the lads work non- stop. We ate there about 5 times and each meal was as good as the last. The service was great and very friendly, nothing was too much trouble.

Damon T  (04 October 2004)

As a meat eater I was more than happy with the meal and service and couldn’t fault the food. My other half who is a veggie (but eats fish) found the food not that great. She ordered a salmon fillet and was presented with a bland salmon steak and veg. There are no veggie options on the menu. A very busy place and I would advise booking a table. Would recommend the place.

Matthew F  (02 October 2004)

Margaret C  (27 September 2004)

Have just returned from Tsilivi - Manos Grill was my favourite restaurant and we eat there four times and each meal was really good. Maria and staff are very welcoming and the food is served up fresh and hot and very tasty. No wonder people queue to get in.

Rachel J  (26 September 2004)

meals were fab

Rachel A  (26 September 2004)

hi i think andy t is very weird as the manos grill was always mobbed
and that was because it was delightful so andy get your tastebuds sorted

Helena W  (25 September 2004)

had yet again another fabulous meal at manos grill. The beef stiffado was out of this world. very nicely presented, and excellent service - all presented in a warm and cosy setting. Hi to manos, maria and staff.

Dane Y  (07 September 2004)

The staff were very very nice but i thought the food was a big let down after reading all the good reviews on this page the food was very very avarage we had better meals at most other places but the staff were very kind jus well over rated in my opinion.

Tom C  (07 September 2004)

Overall our favourate restuarant in Tsilivi. Great service, great food. A simple winning combination.

Tom C  (07 September 2004)

Overall our favourate restuarant in Tsilivi. Great service, great food. A simple winning combination.

Richard S  (22 August 2004)

This is a tough one to judge - We had a great meal here, and a distinctly ordinary one as well. The service is generally excellent, but can be overwhelmed at peak times. Food is some of the best we ate, but it isn't cheap - watch out for the puddings especially as being an expensive extra.

Can be a great experience - but can let you down as well!

Allan   (13 August 2004)

We had read alot of reviews about this resturants and it sounded great! The food was ok but nothing special. The service was good but it didnt make up for the disapointing meal!

Steven E  (03 August 2004)

We ate at the MANOS GRILL every night of our holiday last year and the year befor and had something different every night. The staff are as nice and as friendly as they come and made us feel very welcom as they did everyone that came into eat so much so they even got our drinks ready for us as we walked up to the door.
Hopefully we'll be back next year so Manos and Maria get ready.
p.s we hope the bike's still as shinn.y

Caroline H  (25 July 2004)

great food, really pleasent people, huge portions, and a complementry drink when youa arrive, (also the chef rings the bell) you will miss out if you dont go!!! chicken kebabs and fillet steak are bloody gorgeous

Pat N  (23 July 2004)

I would recommend this superb restaurant to everyone, huge portions of delicious food, excellent service and the staff make you feel really welcome. Thanks Manos, Maria and all the staff, especially Tony our favourite waiter on the island, you're great. See you again soon.

Emma E  (19 July 2004)

Forget to click on excellent for food, service and price! Ignore that part on the previous review as it was far better than average!

Emma E  (19 July 2004)

By far the best restaurant in Tsilivi!

Manos and Maria were lovely and the food was perfect!

Thanks for the birthday cake and champagne. We're coming back next year with the baby - we PROMISE to come and see you.

Love Emma & Stewart x

Sue W  (16 July 2004)

what a shame we didnt discover this place in our first week, we could have cheerfully worked our way through the menu, and never got bored with visiting such friendly and funny people. It was so good, that we came home and booked our holiday again for the next year.
guess where we will go first?

Mandy & Bill  (30 June 2004)

food very good service excellant will be back again

Jim D  (29 June 2004)

Our 4th year at Manos, it has all been said before, great food, service, hospitality and a friendly smile.

S K  (28 June 2004)

Well where do you start? The welcome, service & food is FANTASTIC. It's a nice touch with the welcome drink that everyone gets - even if your waiting on the kerb for a table, the Village Sausage is well worth trying, as well as the Baclava (desert), delicious. You'll need to be hungry as they give you large servings of food, but it's out of this world!!!! Manos has a unique way of saying night to everyone who leaves! If your in Tsilivi try it - you'll not go anywhere else after.

Elaine M  (22 June 2004)

Every thing about this restaurant was absolutely faboulous.food service, Manos, Maria and staff. We loved Manos Grill ate here 3 times out of six nights in May . First stop in September, Thankyou to all at Manos Grill

Mike T  (20 June 2004)

Well i think its all been said by others before, go there you will NOT be disappointed.

Kevan A  (19 June 2004)

We are so glad to have discovered Manos Grill early on in our holiday
Maria and Manos really make you feel at home. If you don't get there
early you will have to queue - but it is well worth the wait!!
The beef Stifado is excellent.

Debbie C  (05 June 2004)

great fod great service and very very friendly

Chris G  (03 June 2004)

What a friendly welcome. If you like Kleftiko you must try Manos's in Filo pastry, it is fanatstic.

Andy T  (20 October 2003)

Another excellent restaurant. Good food reasonably priced and excellent service. Nine out of Ten

Louise S  (06 October 2003)

We found Manos Grill towards the end of our weeks holiday but wished we had found it earlier, fantastic food and very friendly service, lots of different dishes to choose from you are really spoilt for choice, we went our final two nights and although we had not had a bad meal anywhere else the Manos really does take some beating.

Susie V  (01 October 2003)

Went there 3 times over the week and loved the Kalamari and the village sausage. I had some beef dish that was a little salty once, but the service and atmosphere more than made up for it. We also loved the fact that the owner said we were his best friends as soon as we arrived on day one. Very sweet and funny guy. Great value for money too!!!

Tom M  (26 September 2003)

Excellent. Good food, service and great atmosphere at Manos Grill. Ate here twice. Good kebabs, seafood, etc.

Wendy +  (18 September 2003)

Gorgeous food, swift and friendly service! We tried a few places throughout the resort but this ended up being the special final meal as it was our favourite! The Village Sausage.....mmmmmmmmmmm tasty!

Jo H  (18 September 2003)

WOW!!!! We discovered Manos Grill on our second night and instantly fell in love with the place (and became regulars)! The food, the service, the prices, the wine....especially the food!!!.......are all wonderful and the staff are so friendly and helpful, it makes eating there even more pleasant!

Our particular favourite dishes were the swordfish (out of this world!) and the mixed grill (too much meat to mention!) The prices are very reasonable and there was always a nice bottle of rose or two to wash it all down with!!

And who could forget Manos himself??! With his loud shouts of 'ALLO!' and 'GOO-BYE!'.......He, Maria and the rest of the staff all helped to make eating there one of the highlights of our holiday. Yammas Manos!

Jo & Craig (Sheffield) September 2003

Veena M  (17 September 2003)

I have absolutely nothing bad to say about Manos Grill - food was out of this world! Lovely kebabs, nice big portions and the best prices, and the staff were all very pleasant. Hail Manos!

Marie   (14 September 2003)

I live near Tsilivi and often eat out at Manos Grill with my friends and family as we know the food, service and atmosphere will always be great!!

Donna K  (14 September 2003)

We stayed in Tsilivi for 14 days in Aug this year and tried Manos Grill onthe 3rd night. The food was delicious and the service could not be falted. We ate there the rest of our holiday! Maria, Hara, Nik and Sophie are all lovely people and the owner Manos is so funny. I can now understand how he owns the Harley parked outside!! Thanks

Andy T  (11 August 2003)

After all the hype, came away very disappointed with Manos. Food was at best average, now whether this is because of it being peak season and getting plenty of people through the door I'm not sure. Cats and dogs wandering through a restaurant isn't my chice either! There are better places to eat in Tsilivi so I wouldn't recomend this as one of the better ones.

Peter N  (02 August 2003)

Not too sure why people rave about this place. Fair to say that all the staff are welcoming, friendly and hugely enthusiastic - The mixed grill was very tasty with various marinated meats rather than just plain bits of grilled everything, but you'd struggle to find enough interesting things on the menu to warrant a second visit.

Pauline, brian, debbie an T  (29 July 2003)

What can we say? this restaurant has got to be the best in Tsilivi. We have just returned after our 5th time and not surprisingly were recognised by both Maria and Manos on our first night. The welcome we recieved after a four year gap was unforgettable! The two most friendliest people you could ever meet. The meals are cooked to perfection by Manos and nothing is too much trouble. We would recommend this restaurant to anyone who has the taste for good greek cusine.

George H  (23 July 2003)

we have just returned from our 2 week break in Tsilivi, we went to Mano's Grill on our first night after reading all about it, and we were not disappointed, infact, we ate there every night after that! We had the BIG BEEF STEAK, and i dont understand what the people are talking about that complained, it really is a BIG beef steak, i dont know where they have ever had a steak before, but for 8 euros, i very much doubt you can get a steak any bigger! And to have fought with the owner, we found Maria (the lady owner) extremely pleasant, and the whole team of staff just perfect - i think whoever these people were are sadly mistaken, to everyone, please ignore this comment, it is well worth a visit if you want good food, the friendliest staff and a purely pleasant meal! (P.S. they dont charge 4.5 euros for bread, everywhere we have ever eaten abroad charges a cover, and here it is 1 euro per head - about 70p!!!!)

Gary E  (22 July 2003)

excellent food and service with no hard sell on the door and the guy who rings the bell on entry and exit is a funny feller the owner i think.

Bob F  (21 July 2003)

I think Tonia Papapetrou is on the same medication as my great aunt Biddy.... she's 96 and can't remember my name! My girlfriend and I have just returned from Tsivili. After eating in Manos on our second night we returned a further 3 times. One of the best, friendliest restaurants I have ever had the pleasure to eat in. The food was beyond excellent and the service was even better.

Lesley D  (18 July 2003)

I think we just struck really unlucky - because of the rave reviews we went there the first night of our holiday and had a dreadful inedible meal - we were told it was the biggest steak on the island - what we had was like a flattened grisly fatty minute steak which neither of us ate - fell out with the lady owner as she charged us 4.5 euros for bread (for 2 people) that we didn't eat - definitely wouldn't go back again.

Jim D  (12 July 2003)

Great place to eat, our favourite in the resort, cannot be faulted in any way. This place HAS NOT CHANGED OWNERSHIP, get your facts right phil.

Tonia F  (28 June 2003)

we have just returned from our holidays in Tsilivi on June 25th, after having returned to the town for our fifth year. We ate at Mano's Grill 12 nights out of the 14 we stayed, as we tend to do each year, and every year we have the same welcome and recognition from the owners - Maria and Manos - this year was no different. after looking on the website i would just like to inform people that the restaurant is not under new management, we were recognised by Maria and Manos straight away, before we even got into the restaurant!! The only new thing about it is the two new English waitresses-Sophie and Sonia - however, i can say that although new - they fit in well and it turned out to be the best service we have EVER had!

Peter B  (24 June 2003)

What a great pity Manos Grill has changed hands, we went there for three years with our children (1998/1999/2000) and still get xmas cards from Maria and Manos.Great food great service

Philip C  (16 June 2003)

another good taverna in Tsilivi that has this year changed hands........it was excelllent last year but whilst there thisyear noted that many were critical of the change-over....what a great shame

Josey W  (14 June 2003)

I personally had the worst meal of my holiday here, however my partner loved his meal, the food is cheap and the service is excellent but not an extensive selection on the menu.

Sue H  (11 June 2003)

Tonia Papaetrou was obviously having a laugh - perhaps Manos didn't fancy her - How she could say any of her comments - she obviously has never been to greece before!!!!!

Sue H  (11 June 2003)

Ater spending 2 weeks in Tsilivi with 3 young children, Manos Grill was the best taverna we ate in and cheapest - Manos, Maria, Sophie and Nick the most helpful staff - we miss you all.

Graham C  (30 May 2003)

Just read Jim Hebberts (September 18, 2002) comments. Why does this man travel to Greece, What does he expect, the restaurant can only accomodate approx. 50 people at a time, Please ignore his comments.

Graham C  (29 May 2003)

Not really sure what tonia papapetrou expected? We only ate once in this restaurant (the kids wanted to go to the Family Restaurant)BUT this was the BEST GREEK FOOD (Mixed Grill, Kebab) we had on our holiday in Tsilivi, you may have to wait half an hour for your starter, but you are in Greece and the service is brilliant. Thouroghly recommend this resturant for couples and older families, expect to queue for a table after 8pm

Simon Q  (23 May 2003)

If you are in tsilivi and want a great meal with a friendly atmosphere then this is a must, Manos and Maria and everyone there make you feel so welcome and i bet you that you dont just eat there once, we went four times and it is also a pleasant memory from our holiday, when i think back to our hols and when i talk to people about Zante, Manos grill always comes up in the conversation, Thankyou manos and family for everything. love Simon and Sue

Richard H  (21 May 2003)

Best restaurant in Tsilivi. Everything was superb

Glynis R  (18 May 2003)

We visited on a few occassions between 5th-12th May 2003 late at night.Giros excellent value for money and would really recommend a visit for authentic greek food.

Tonia P  (12 May 2003)

I think that they are the worst restaurant I have ever been. And the worst thing is that they say that they cook fresh food every day and they take the foods from catering.

Janette G  (27 April 2003)

Have visited Manos Grill many times during my many stays in Tsilivi. (Hi Maria, I bet you're still rushing around trying to find everyone a table) The food is very palatable and Maria and the staff go out of their way to make everyone welcome. I would recommend a visit to Manos when you visit Tsilivi. Prices are excellent for the portion size and quality

Nick A  (01 December 2002)

As a Greek his food quality and service was exellent

Rick P  (27 October 2002)

Thanks Manos, Maria, John and the other staff who gave us 3 nights of brilliant food and excellent service. Check out anything from the grill and the Manos sauce is a must.

Nicola R  (09 October 2002)

We ate at Manos grill a couple of times in September, definitely recommend it.. the food is gorgeous!

Marion B  (02 October 2002)

We went to Tsilivi in august this year and visited Manos as often as we could find an empty table (the fact the restaurant was packed most nights says it all!) The food is absolutely delicious, especially the Greek dishes. The portions are very generous and the staff very friendly - even the chef peeps his horn and waves at you as you leave!

Jimmy T  (01 October 2002)

Myself and my family have used Manos Grill four the last four years,so far we have never had bad food or service,I would definatley reccomend the swordfish the best ive tasted that i havent caught myself,as for the tables been cleaned when customers get up to leave what do you expect when there is a que outside waiting to come in.The bell is rung when customers leave this is Manos way of saying thank you.May i suggest toAndrew Shaw, james menzies, cand k marsden andlast but not least mark pearce you are all IDIOTS and next year save your money and go to skegness instead.Keep the good food coming Manos and Maria and grandma all the best JIMMY CONOR BERNIE

Annette J  (01 October 2002)

Food was good but nothing special, did think some of the previous comments were a tad over the top but each to their own. Service was good and some of the waiters very friendly. Didn't actually think that 'Maria' was that friendly. Certainly wouldn't have queued again to get in but it was always busy. Beef Stifado was good and the Croquettes.

Laurie R  (27 September 2002)

We visited Mano's grill four times in our weeks stay in Zante. Everything was perfect, I felt like we had known the staff all our lives. I thoroughly enjoyed myself there. I miss it!! I especially miss Tony but have managed to keep in touch with him!! Thanks everyone...Maria, Mano, Tony, John, Mum....sorry if I missed anyone, I don't mean too!

Joanne   (23 September 2002)

lovly meals had by all

Janette H  (21 September 2002)

Really enjoyed both meals we had there, always very busy but nothing was spared.

Jim H  (18 September 2002)

Extremely over-rated. We went there our first night having researched this website extensively. Possibly the worst value meal we had in the 7 restaurants we tried. Ordered swordfish steak which was wafer-like and almost inedible. Sorry I just can't understand why this place is so popular. By contrast I suggest you put Nemesis high on your list.

Jeremy L  (06 September 2002)

Had an excellent meal for four here on our 2nd night. The service, if you arrived early, was excellent, great bread with olive paste, garlic butter and tzatziki. The souvlaki was just what the doctor had ordered and this restaurant was not the cheapest, but by far the one of the best. Forget about the bell ringer, great gimick anyway. Maria did try her best to accomodate you in whatever way you felf. Marks out of 10, 9 definitely. Only bettered by Zeus restaurant, a 50 yards the other way towards Planos.

Andrew S  (25 August 2002)

Sorry to be the party pooper but I don't recomend this restaruant. I ate their with my family, two adult meals and two childrens meals, the usual drinks and it came to a staggering 43 euros, by far the most expensive meal of the stay, we were ripped off. I'm not fooled by the false plesentaries, the ringing of the bell when someone leaves is only for the waiters to prepare the table for the next set of punters, the fish taverna across the road is by far better quality in terms of food and price, sorry chaps but I would recomend you stay away and vist the more tradtional greek establishment.

Paul P  (25 August 2002)

Good Greek dishes, but a bit busy and crowded later in the evenings. Staff helpful and friendly.

Adam H  (20 August 2002)

Loved this place! One of the best we ate at.

David S  (16 August 2002)

A great restaurant, our favourite, with great food, service, people and the price was great too. We visited the restaurant 3 times during our stay and had a great meal everytime.

Sarah J  (15 August 2002)

we visited the manos grill 5 times during our 2 week stay in tsilivi. we found the food was superb, the service was great and was reasonably priced. all you people complaining about the crumb cleaner should not have ate the bread then there would have been no crumbs to clean. maria and manos are not false they are just being friendly.

Claire C  (13 August 2002)

We've just returned from Tsilivi - our fourth visit in as many years - and we are missing it already. Hello Maria, Manos, Mum, John, Addy, Nick and all - hope you are not working too hard! We dined at Manos Grill every night of our two week holiday - it is the BEST restaurant in Tsilivi by far. The fresh home-cooked food is fabulous. After visiting Tsilivi before we have eaten out just about everywhere and in our opinion nowhere even comes close to Manos. Maria always greets us like old friends and even though the restaurant is always busy with diners, we never have to wait long for a table. I read with disbelief, some of the negative comments on this page. You should be ashamed. Why not tell us where you actually had your meals and sing the praises of those places, rather than have a go at Manos Grill? If the meals you had elsewhere in Tsilivi were so much better then Manos, then I would be extremely surprised! We can recommend all the food on the menu, but especially the Feta Cheese on the Grill, Saganaki Prawns, Chicken and Bacon Souvlaki, Big Beef Steak and, my favourite, the Swordfish. All delicious, followed by Mum's Pannacotta dessert! All the staff are fantastic - always really friendly and have time for a chat even when they are rushed off their feet! We don't even bother looking at holiday brochures anymore, we just know we'll be back in Tsilivi next year and it just cannot come soon enough. So everyone, don't listen to the whingers, Manos Grill is THE BEST! Just try it. Maria and Manos, see you both in Athens in February, we'll ring you very soon. Take care, all our love and best wishes from Claire and Garry Carr.

Niki A  (12 August 2002)

THE FOOD WAS LOVELY, OUR FRIENDS ATE HERE EVERY NIGHT. BUT I THINK EVERY BODY HAS A RIGHT TO THEIR OWN OPINION.

Ben M  (05 August 2002)

MANOS GRILL IS THE BEST PLACE IN TSILIVI TO EAT NO DOUBT. ALL YOU PRATS TALKING BAD OF IT NEED YOUR HEADS CHECKING BECAUSE THE FAMILY IN THERE WERE LOVING FRIENDLY AND THOUGHTFUL. THE STUPID PRAT WHO WROTE ABOUT THE SPAGHETTI BOLOGNAISE HIS CHILD HAD REALLY HURT THE FAMILYS FEELINGS WITH YOUR CRUDE COMMENTS AND FRANKLY YOU SEEM LIKE A TWO FACED ATENTION SEEKING PRAT WHO IS VERY STUCK UP AND NEEDS TO GET HIMSELF A LIFE. BY THE WAY THANKS VERY MUCH TO MARIA,MANOS,AND JOHN FOR MAKING OUR HOLIDAY FANTASTIC BY PROVIDING US WITH GOOD FOOD. P.S DONT YOU DARE CALL ME A MOURON YOU IMMATURE GEEZER.

Joanna R  (05 August 2002)

I thought the magic crumb cleaner very intimidating!! The food was good though, but similar to many other restaurants.

Neil W  (31 July 2002)

This restaurant was excellent. We ate there twice and rated it as one of the best in the resort. I cant belive some people commenting on this web page can complain so bitterlly about staff at the manos that made every effort to make you feel welcome and enjoy high quility traditionally cooked food in an exellent enviroment.

Mark J  (29 July 2002)

Just got back. Ate there on 1st night and thought it was great. It was crowded as it is only small but that was a good sign. Thought the service and food were great.

James M  (22 July 2002)

Very disappointed with this place, why does everyone rant on about it ? Found it very pricey, food was ok, there is better. And yes, they are compulsive with the "magic" table cleaner. The seats are so hard on your posteria! Found it to be very false, everytime someone left, they rang a bell. The kids did leave with a T-shirt right enough, perhaps that's why it was expensive, they must have been added to the bill !

Eddie B  (20 July 2002)

I have to agree about the food being good, but I was not pleased with the way the table was brushed clean as soon as we had finished our meal and was asked if we would like the bill.I don't know how people can rate this place so highly,Tsilivi has much better places than this to eat.

Lilmissastar@aol.com   (19 July 2002)

By far the best restaurant, their kebabs are gorgeous. the bell can b annoying, but the family r very welcoming and friendly. it makes me laugh the way maria bosses the family around.

Clare &  (16 July 2002)

Are we the only people to agree with Mark Pearce? The people here are so false it almost made us spew into the inedible children's spaghetti bolognese, which was full of whole black peppercorns. When I pointed out that children don't usually appreciate a mouthful of hot stuff, Maria suggested we try to separate the strands from the pepper. They did try to compensate with a free t-shirt, but they definitely did not have any concern that my daughter couldn't eat her meal. FALSE FALSE FALSE!!!! Cringingly so!!! And the bell - they ring it amidst false smiles as they wave you off, ready for the next utter sucker. We had our table de-crumbed, in mid conversation - what is all that about? Some sort of compulsive disorder, perhaps. CRAP PLACE in our opinion, unless you enjoy being smarmed over, then, no doubt, scoffed at after. Morons only, please.

Jim D  (04 July 2002)

this is a great place to eat. the food and service are excellent. manos and maria make you feel very welcome, I would definately recommend this place.

Cf D  (04 July 2002)

excellent, not surprised it's always busy. been going to tsilivi for about six years and i always have a couple of meals there, particularly pork or chicken from the grill. see you all in september or next june.

Simon B  (03 July 2002)

Having just returned from a wonderful two weeks holiday on this beautiful isle,I have to say that the Manos Grill was the best restaurant in the resort. We kept trying to pass it but without success. The atmosphere is warm & friendly, they enjoy having children,a must is the mixed grill (if you are hungry )or also the highly rated donnar kebab. The house white is certainly drinkable, especially after the first litre!!!! Thanks to Marie,Manos and John ( my daughter will marry your son )for making us so welcome.

Brian M  (01 July 2002)

manos grill is by far the best in tsilivi we've been going for the last 7 years and always receive a warm welcome the beef stifado is a must & the red house wine goes down a treat maybe mr pea**e should try the hilton next year see you all next year brian& viv

I have just read the comments made by Mark Pearce and to be honest they could not be further from the truth. Manos Grill is by far the best restaurant in Tsilivi. We have been their for the last 4 years and have always had excellent food and brilliant friendly service. With love to Manos Maria and Mamma. We have just returned from 2 weeks in Tsilivi and would highly recommend Manos Grill. The saganaki cheese, geep fried courgettes and cheese croquets were excellent starters. The chicken kebabs ans chicken a la creme great main courses and the greek yogurt with honey was a wonderful end to the meal. It is a busy restaurant because the food is excellent and they are very accomodating unlike some other restaurants in the resort. If you want a quiet relaxed atmosphere then maybe Manos should be avoided but if you want excellent food then it is definately recommended.

I've just come back from Tsilivi, and I really don't know if we're talking about the same Manos Grill here. You mean the one on the main road from Planos to Tsilivi? Next door to the little gift shop?? Because if we're all talking about the same place, I don't know what you lot are used to eating! The Manos Grill was the only low point during my excellent two week stay in Tsilivi. If you really appreciate, and know what real Greek food tastes like, you will avoid Manos Grill like the plague. However, if you enjoy having someone clear away the table the second you have finished, rudely push you out of the way while they brush the table down in-between courses (I'm not kidding!!) and make you feel like they can't wait to fill your seat with someone as equally meaningless to them, then this is the place for you. Their moussaka tasted like school dinner lasagne, complete with crust. Their pasticio tasted exactly the same. Wait a minute - it was the same, just with pasta!! Crap. If, like me, you enjoy the way the Greeks eat, taking time to choose and enjoy your food, please try the excellent Maina, Zeus and Taverna Tsilivi restaurants, where the service is just as good as the food. Remember, avoid this place, it will spoil your view of this fantastic little town.

Just returned from a wonderful two week holiday which was helped by the reception and food received from Manos, Maria and their staff. Try the Gyros Portion and the Mixed Grill, they come highly recommended, although we do not think that you would have a bad meal whatever you decide upon. Thank you for contributing towards a superb holiday.

Rachel F  (24 June 2002)

We found this taverna 3 years ago, we have just returned from Tsilivi and nothing had changed this is the best taverna in the whole of Greece. With love to Manos and Maria also Tony, john and Nick xx

Robert C  (01 June 2002)

I just agree with everybody else. The only problem is getting a table it is so popular.

Angela K  (31 May 2002)

Julie   (11 October 2001)

My fist visit was a couple of years ago and we were lucky enough to visit this wonderful restaurant on our first night. No other restaurant comes close! Needless to say we became regulars. The food is fantastic, they are so friendly and we returned earlier this year and we were treated as though we were one of the family! You must go here!!

Sam   (06 October 2001)

Having read all the previous comments there is nothing to say. except that if it is the only thing you do on holiday try at least one meal here, but make it in the first couple of days of your stay. As you will be disappointed if you only eat here once. The food and service were excellent. And the staff found time for a friendly word with every diner.

Loopyloo   (01 October 2001)

all the good comments about this place are so true.friendly staff lively atmosphere and great food.

Great food and very friendly service! I thought it was a nice touch when the chef rang a bell to say goodbye! very nice! one of the best meals we had!

Steff S  (03 September 2001)

We arrived in Zante very late on a Sunday evening. We were tired and hungry. By the time we had dropped our things in our apartment it was around midnight. The restaurants were starting to empty as we wandered down the road, we stopped at Manos Grill and were given a table. Although it was late they put themselves out and fed us the most delicious freshly cooked meal. Our thanks to Maria who looked after us. Needless to say we went back several times over the following week!

Ian D  (30 August 2001)

Brilliant - friendly service, good food, price ok. Only drawack - a bit cramped at the front.

Anita W  (27 August 2001)

OK is the correct phrase and they need a bigger restaurent to make it comfortable. Most expensive meal we had.

Trevor W  (24 August 2001)

We had heard only good things and were not disappointed. Maria recognised us on our second visit and by the end of our week we were old friends - seriously! Brilliant starters - deep fried courgettes, aubergines, stuffed vine leaves ! Swordfish, kalamari, local sausage brilliant mains ! A three course meal for two, drinks to start, a bottle of (Reserve) wine and coffee £22 or thereabouts - superb value. Get there early - it can get busy !

Judd M  (16 August 2001)

yes Yes YES! A great little place - went only once, on the second from last night and regretted not going sooner. Friendly family run place with great cheap food from the grill - huge quantities.

Ben C  (29 July 2001)

Ate at Manos Grill 10 nights out of 14 (5/7/01 to 19/01/01) tried Tsilivi Taverna large portions but service terrible, Popeyes OK but not special we just kept returning to Manos Grill. The staff and food were excellent. If you make Manos Grill your regular eating place they will look after you and reserve the best tables. Don't bother with the rest just go to the best MANOS GRILL

Christopher T  (22 July 2001)

We first went there in 1998 when it opened. It was excellent then and has improved the range of food available since then. Maria remembered us from previously and greeted us as long lost friends. Definitely the best place in Tsilivi.

Richard C  (21 July 2001)

Another satisfied customer. Went twice, had the fillet steak with pepper sauce - beautiful! Go for the baclava desert. Wow! Fattening, but worth it!!!

Clare F  (16 July 2001)

Best food in Tsvili by far. We went on our third night out of seven and didnt even both to look elsewhere after that. Manos and Maria make the place what it is - friendly!! Made to feel like part of the family. Try the grilled swordfish, it is out of this world. Great people, great value for money, great food - what more could you ask for?

Anni   (13 July 2001)

This is an excellent place to eat, always busy (a good sign!!)food tasty, good portions, nice garlic bread to start with. Very friendly owner/manageress who remembers you immediatly. It was my sons birthday & I asked to reserve a table for next evening. She said fine & would I like a cake for him, I agreed & cake, candles, birthday song caught him completly by surprise. Brilliant!!

Mike M (13 July 2001)

Any good fish restaurants in Tsilivi?

Margrith H  (12 July 2001)

Eines der besten Restaurants in Tsivili. Wir werden jedes Jahr sehr herzlich Willkommen geheisen und fühlen uns bei Maria und Manos fast wie zu Hause.

Dave G  (10 July 2001)

Great authentic Greek food, lively, bustling atmosphere and friendly service. It is popular with Greeks and tourists alike. Get there early or book ahead.

Dave   (02 July 2001)

One of the few places we returned to more than once. Excellent food, lovely hostess and great locale and surroundings.

Sheila P  (25 June 2001)

Sorry - forgot to say comment below was for three of us.

Sheila P  (25 June 2001)

Visited only once in our week as Manos is a good walk from where we stayed at Sandy Maria apartments (excellent accommodation) and were lucky to get a table at 22.00 - had we gone earlier we would probably have had to queue. We all chose main course items from the grill and all were excellent - the bill for starter, main courses, drinks (small house wine, one Sprite), and one pud. came to £11,250 roughly £20.

George P  (18 June 2001)

Manos, Maria & Anna make you most welcome. You may have to wait for a table but I can assure you it is worth it. Seek it out, it is near the Village Bakery. Quality food. Try the local village sausage. Different class.

Kim A  (12 June 2001)

Visited Manos several times during our 2 week stay June 2001. Food quality is excellent - always very busy - be prepared to queue at times. Best eat before 7.30 or after 10.00pm to avoid the rush but it's worth the wait.

Chris G  (06 June 2001)

Best food in Tsilivi. Manos and Maria will make you feel very welcome. Gets very busy, but they will always try and fit you in. Wish we discoverd it earlier in our week. Read more at: http://homepage.ntlworld.com/chris.gawley/zante.htm
