The best thing about Redskins was the drinks. The Brakfasts expensive, and inferior to those obtainable in Alikanas main street. The main reasons Redskins got our repeat evening visits was the 20-25 minute walk from Old Alikanas down to the centre of New Alikinas.
Whilst we did not stay at the Hotel in May 2000, we did make use of the bar and swimming pool on several days during our stay in Alykanas. The Hotel was well located, near to the main street of Alykanas, so very short walks to Tavernas & Restaurants in Alykanas.
The Hotel Complex itself is OK, but the staff are not very friendly. Only small number of free beds around the pool. Other wise Hotel guests have to pay for sun beds on the grass by the pool or on the beach!!
It tends to be a bit quiet this time of year, that might be 'cause the Tsilivi Beach Hotel ain'nt open yet. It should be open on Sunday !!! It's had a top refurb. Nikos and Holly Are still on good form, but I'll warn you folks - it's 115 degrees and rising. We're all burnt to buggery ! ! !
didn't even bother going in due to fool on door.what a horrid man.
FOR BLUE CAVES Don't bother going on a boat trip from Zakynthos, everyone says its awful! Better to hire a car and go to Agios Nicholas(also called Skinhari beach) where there are locals with small boats - it's just a 45 minute round trip including swim - enough on a very hot day! Plus can call in at small beach to swim. Pleasant tavernas at Agios Nicholas plus a good shop for genuine hand made linens.
Greek , a little quieter than most.
Tsilivi is like Blackpool in July but too hot! I wouldn;t describe it as peaceful! Okay if you want lots of nightclubbing, but every beach even the most out of the the way (eg: accesible only by boat) is full of people! If you are stuck here. Hire a car. Get a map with 2001 on it as the roads have dramtically changed over the last three years!Theo rentals has some good routes. eg: 1. go to Keri (signed Limni Keri) and hire a self drive motor boat to the island for swimming and snorkelling. 2. go to Agios Nicholas and hire a small boat to the Blue caves and eat and shop locally. 3. men and boys might enjoy GoKart at Kalamaki, opens at 12pm. 4. go to Gerakas beach for quietish swim - very pleasnt taverna there for lunch. 5. Look out for 'cocktail bars with swimming pools' open to all along your routes - a pleasant uncrowded way of cooling off.
