Can anyone please tell us how they are progressing with the building of the new hotel next door?
Hello again, Grant. Here's a bit of an update so far! Over a couple of weeks ago we wrote, stating the facts to D.H, and asked (in the circumstances) for the return of our money. Yesterday we received a reply, giving us a complaint number to quote in future correspondence. Their letter stated that they had noted our comments and are investigating the points raised!! A full reply will be sent to us within 28 days, by which time we shall be at the Kalidonio. A local travel agent phoned Golden Sun, who confirmed that they have the Kalidonio for 2003. Although it does not yet appear in the G.S. brochure for next year it will, apparently, be in the next edition which comes out in Oct/Nov. Will keep you posted!! In the meantime we'll give your regards to all at the Kalidonio. Beryl and Peter.
Can anyone please tell us the e-mail address of Dias? Many thanks.
At last, Grant, we have something positive to report!! First, we had an excellent holiday. In all our years of going to Kalamaki, usually at this time we have never seen so many wild flowers and butterflies. It certainly seems to have been a wet season as all the locals say. Of course you are right, Grant. The Kalidonio is going to Golden Sun. We have finally received a cheque refunding ALL our money. I think, Danielle you might have to "jump up and down" a bit to get the same. We were offered alternative accommodation but, for us, there is no alternative in Kalamaki. Reading the write-ups for Golden Sun on this web site, though, I hope the Kalidonio (and their customers) are going to be happy with the arrangements!! Are you and your family returning, Grant, in 2003? May be we shall meet? We must thank you for alerting us to the situation. But for you, we would still be in blissful ignorance about our next year's holiday arrangements.
We returned recently from another great holiday in Kalamaki and, once again, enjoyed some excellent meals at Dias Restaurant... especially the deep fried aubergine chips and garlic paste. Thank you Lavros and your family for the welcome at each visit, the beautifully cooked food, and of course the complimentary drinks we enjoyed afterwards. Good luck with the extention and we hope to see you all again next September. To the person who wanted some names to send photos....The manager is Koltoukis Argiris and his son is Lavros.
We returned nearly two weeks ago from another great holiday on your beautiful island. The wild flowers and butterflies have never been better at this time of the year.(Too much rain I think.) Thank you, Dennis, and all the Staff especially Effie, for the good service and great Greek food. Your moussaka is simply "the best". We hope to see you all again in September 2003.
Well, hello again, Grant,
We, too, had trouble with locating Kalidonio with Golden Sun, so, rather than not go to Zante we booked at the Hotel Sirocco. We returned on Oct.2nd having had a lovely holiday, once again. While we were there we had a couple of lunches at the Kalidonio and chatted to Fortini (I'm sure that's not how to spell it!) She didn't open until June "due to lack of bookings" so Golden Sun told her. Surprise, surprise if no one could locate the place!! They closed a few days after we left, having had the "last minute" bookings from Direct Holidays. The people we spoke to, while we were eating lunch, were there on a £99 a week deal!! We were told Kalidonio is definately with Direct Holidays for '04 and '05. I e-mailed for the brochure yesterday, but now you say it's still not there. . . oh no, not again!
"Ionian Blue" next door is still not up and running but has progressed somewhat and should be open next season but no decision has been taken on the company taking it yet. Cheers.
A short update on the previous remarks. The Direct Holidays brochure I requested has arrived. It is the 2nd edition and guess what ? ? ? the Kalidonio is still not in it Have we been here before I wonder?
