JUst arrived back from a week at Tsilivi Beach Hotel. Great hotel, staff are friendly, rooms are clean and the pol is awesome (biggest on the island) and there are two of them!! all rooms have a fridge and a tv, although all channels are greek. Each room has air conditioning, but you will need to get the remote from reception. They may be reluctant to give you the remote, but if you insist they will eventually hand it over.
Took boat trip to blue caves and shipwreck with dionis. The boat was small and not very comfortable as all seats were wooden. The boat was quite small so we were last to get off at the shipwreck as we had to to tie off to one of the larger boats so we didn't get shipwrecked ourselves, this shortened time spent on beach - which was an experience in itself. The beach is made up of small stones so wear shoes as it really hurts to walk in bear feet. Decide for yourself wheher you believe the story about the shipwreck or whether it was wrecked there on purpose ( that may just be the cynic in me ). The swell was quite high when we went which made swimming difficult and visibility for snorkelling was zero. The blue caves were good but short. The final stop off for a swim or sunbath was good, nice little cove with plenty of fish to see and nice warm clear water. On the whole a good trip, but not brilliant!!
Great bar, Beano, ed, oz and Claire are wicked and know how to look after their customers. Plenty of free shots going around if you hang around till 2am, Beano may even make up his own cocktail for you. nice cocktails, friendly banter and some nonsense from beano. Ask Oz what's his record for the most mosquitoes he's swolled in one go????
Beach at tsilivi was great. The water is quite shallow for at least 200 metres so quite safe for children. Water was warm and quite clear but rubbish if you want to snorkel, i only saw 3 fish and a star fish, not much going on there. Laganas beach was better for snorkeling, if you're lucky you may even see a turtle!
