Set away from the busy nightlife so quieter at night.A bit of a hike to the beach but free bus there and back 4 times in morning and 4 in afternoon. Tried walking but takes about half an hour before you hit the main strip of shops then another half hour to reach beach!Taxi only takes 5 euros, so cheap if bus time is no good.Accomodation spotless. Family run, very friendly, costas likes to teach you greek basics like kalamera (goodmorning) kalaspera (goodnight) effaristo (thank you) etc. Nice clean pool and plenty of sunbeds even when busy. Had greek night which was great - the dancers get you up and teach you the steps. Karaoke nights and bingo at hotel with english hosts.Corner shop open till 2am and Palataki first on left is one of the best places to eat. Brilliant holiday, many thanks to costas and his family, will go again. (No earthquake next time please!)
One of the best bars. Cocktails were great and really cheap (2.50 euros) If they don't advertise the cocktail you want, tell them whats in it and they will make it for you.
We were there from 18th July-1st August. Really hot hot hot. Wish we could have brought the weather home! They can keep their earthquake though!
Our Direct holidays rep at the Oscar aparthotel told us that Laganas beach was a dump and that we should go to kalamaki instead! We went to see for ourselves and she couldn't be more wrong. Laganas beach is great, it has plenty of pedallos and speed boats to hire (no speed boats at kalamaki) and loads of bars, shops and cafes on hand. We only went to kalamaki one day and spent the rest at laganas.
