We ordered Crispy duck with Pancakes on our visit to the Hong Kong and were told by the waiter that it would be just like you get at home, what a let down! It was a duck breast ( very fatty ) sliced up served with three pancakes and if i recall it was one of the most expensive meals on the menu. The rest of the meal was good, although the portions were small and we needed to order two further meals to fill up on.
We visited Mermaids once whilst in Kalamaki and the food was good and the service also good.Yes it was very busy as you would expect for a restaurant with so many good reviews on this site, but you must remember that the Greek people do not rush anything and your on holiday, so sit back and relax and enjoy the night.
We ate at Mikaelos twice on this holiday as we had done previously four years ago, Dennis and is staff are great. The food we ordered was spot on and enjoyable in particular the chicken special I had on one occasion. I would recommend anyone to eat here and you will not be disappointed because it's 10/10 rating is justified.
The food served at the Parthenon is good and the waiters are very good in particular with any children that are dining here.We were happy with the food on the two occasions that we visited.always seemed to be full so that must say something.
This restaurant must be one of the best in Kalamaki along with Mikaelos, very little to choose between them. The food is excellent and the staff are very friendly and attentative. There is a good choice on the menu, I would recommend the Ham & Cheese crepes for the starter, excellent. The Kleftico is also very good but it is rather a large portion.
Just returned from a two week stay at the Caretta Beach Hotel/Apts.The rooms were clean and tidy and a reasonable size but the self catering facilities were poor for a new complex, glad we ate out.No air-conditioning in the rooms which was needed due to the heat at night. The pool area was good apart from the breaking of glasses and bottles on the tiled floor on a regular basis, the pool bar serves the drinks in glass containers instead of plastic ones! The tiles around the pool are very slippy so be careful especially with young children. We didn't really use the bar at night because it wasn't our kind of entertainment that they were providing i.e bingo, quizzes and karaoke with a singer who wouldn't let you sing if you wanted to!This area was also noisy till the early hours of the morning (03:30 hrs on Sat night), which forced us into asking for a move after the first week from our pool view apt. to one away and at the back of the complex.Yes it is very close to the airport but the aircraft noise never really bothered us during our stay.Overall the complex is good and close to the main road for access to Kalamaki and it's restaurants and shops. The beach is about a 15/20 minute stroll away.
We visited Buon Amici on our first night in Kalamaki. We ordered a pasta, pizza and Greek Salad which were all very good,in particular the pasta which was served in it's cooking pan.The house wine was good and cheap. If you like Italian you can't go wrong here.
Visited Dias twice during our stay. The menu is extensive and there is a different special every night. The food and service were very good and the house wine great!Just off the main Kalamaki Road.
This restaurant does not have a menu outside the premises before you enter! We soon realised why when we saw the price of the drinks,5 euros for a botle of water, and the house wine at 17 euros,6 in most other restaurants. The food was good but nothing spectacular for the price. The service was not up to much either. There are far cheaper restaurants in Kalamaki serving better food. Our total bill was at least double that we paid anywhere else, 90 euros!
