First of all if you want English then this is not for you, however if you want the authentic greek cuisine, then like us you will want to keep going back for more.
Dennis & his staff were excellent hosts.
Food was superb, I can highly recommend the Lamb Kleftiko !
The price was probably the best on the island, even more surprising considering the quality of the food.
Make this your first port of call when you get to kalimaki.
Its easy to find, if a little bit of the main drag. Head to the T junction at the end of kalamakis main strip, (if you have just passed the panorama on your left your going in the right direction) turn left and walk for about 5 - 10 minutes until you reach the rainbow restaurant on your right, carry on for 300 yards then Mikaelos is on your left. Enjoy!
A close second to Mikaelos, but not that close!
If you feel like having a quality meal by the sea, then Zepos is for you.
The food was good, service was good & the price was good, suppose you could say it was GOOD!
But what ever you do dont go to Stanis, which is nearby, the service is dreadful & the food aint up to much either.
Well what can I say, certainly not 10 out of 10.
Service is a major part of eating out and quite frankly this was shocking.
I suppose we should have guessed something was amiss when the waiter pointed to our table with his fag in his hand!
Food was average as was the price.
Give this a wide birth if you are keen on good service.
Not quite the best in kalamaki, unless Mikaelos & Zepos go out of business, which is highly unlikely, judging by the amount of customers in them night after night.
However a very good restaurant with great staff, good food and keen prices.
definately worth a visit.
Great place to chill out & get eaten to pieces by mosies!
Music was mellow.
Cocktails very good & inexpensive.
Hunks! I'm not into, but if your a girl I'm sure you'll like it.
Babes, nice barmaid, plenty of talent, but most of them were with there other half.
Not a lot of good if your on the pull!
Downunder is probably a safe bet for pulling.
Just got back from GSH and my overall impression is that it is a general run of the mill Greek hotel.
Basic accommodation and quite clean, if a little rough around the edges.
Good pool if at first a little breathtaking!
It would also help if your not bothered about missing breakfast, the buffet was consistently lame.
Christos the barman is a very nice chap, who likes enjoying a snifter or 2 with you. His ouzo, orange juice & grenadine is great!
Personally I have stayed in a lot worse hotels in my time.
But I wouldnt go back to GSH..
Firstly - The Lorous Beach next door is a far superior hotel with hardly any whining kids present & a good pool.
Secondly - Why do you need a hotel in Kalamaki, Self Catering is all you need especially with the plethora of tavernas & supermarkets in Kalamaki.
