COULD ANYONE ADVISE ME ON THE PRICE OF FOOD/DRINK IN TSILIVI??
I will be spending a fortnight at the hotel mediterranne at the start of August!! Thanx.
Everyone, please ignore the comments from 'Tracey' on the previous page. She must be one of those people who just likes to complain and she cant even use full stops or commas!! In my opinion, Tsilivi is absolutely breathtaking. The beach is absolutely perfect, the sea warm and clear and the weather is fantastic. I bet Tracey is just one of those gimps who looks for a fault in everything, a pesamist. Dont listen to people like this, they are not worth listening to. Thankyou and goodbye.
I stayed at the hotel Mediterranee for two weeks returning on August 10th, it was the first time me and my girlfriend had been to Greece. Overall we throughly enjoyed it, the beach was lovely, the sea crysal clear, the local people are so friendly and the weather was just right.
I would recommend going on the speedboat trip from Tsilivi Harbour, it is absolutely brilliant, its called Zante-Levante speedboat trips. There are loads of boat trips availiable in the resort, but all of these trips are aboard huge boats with about 500 other tourists on them. The speedboat trip has only 20 people on it, it gets to smugglers cove before any other boats and goes right up to the beach. Smugglers cove gets quite crowded when the big boats get there so it is really good to get there first. We paid 30 euros each for the trip which was a bit more than the trips aboard the large boats but it was well worth it.
Watch out for the gypsy girls selling roses on a night, apparently they are professional thieves!!
We had a night out in Laganas, we didnt think much of it, the drinks were over priced, the music was awful it was all cheesy R&B and Hip Hop. We couldnt find anywhere playing any house music which was disappointing! The average age of people there must have been about 16. The best thing was there was a macdonalds there!!
There is a macdonalds in Tsilivi, but it was closed the whole time we were there. The food in Tsilivi wasnt that great, there was a very nice indian near the hotel mediteranee, popeyes was lovely and Romeo and Juliets was also very nice.
Overall the holiday was great but i wont be returning to Zante again as there are so many other places in the world that i need to see before i am too old.
Went on this trip with Zante-Levante and i have to say that i dont think it is possible for any of the large boat trips to be anywhere near as good as this one!!! The boat only holds 20 people, Spiros the guide actually takes his boat into the caves. He is so friendly as well, i would recommend this trip to anyone............
.......It may be a little more expensive than the other boat trips but it is well, well worth it.
Smugglers cove is fantastic, i actually went snorkelling in the bay there, i can safely say that the water is not clear at all. The reason for this is the fact that the limestone falls into the sea from the cliffs in smugglers cove, this is why the water looks so blue!! Spiros, explained this to us all. It was quite scary snorkelling as i couldnt even see my hand in front of my face. The shipwreck its self looks great from a distance but the graffiti spoils it a bit when you get up close. The stones on the beach do hurt your feet, so take some flip-flops or something.
I forgot to metion a couple of things.....
............Zante-Levante gets to the shipwreck before any other boats. When we went there, there were no other boats there. It leaves from Tsilivi Harbout @ 8.30am. It also stops off a beautiful little taverna situated right next to the sea in a non-touristy part of Zante, there are loads of fish that you can throw bread to from the tables. It is amazing, to watch the massive shoals of fish fight to get the bread. I would recommend this trip to everyone visiting Zante.
