Is there a facility for changing Travellers Cheques in the Hotel?

Levante Speedboat Trip - (Zante Excursions)

Emma

We went on this trip last Tuesday and it was by far the best part of our holiday. We went to the south of the island, round Keri caves and then on to Turtle Island and Laganas bay. Spiros made the trip for us, he is great fun. Would recommend this trip to everybody!!!!

Freddies Beach Bar - (Bars in Tsilivi)

Emma

Hi All at Freddies.

Sarah and I are missing being the early risers on the sunbeds and having our club sandwiches (without tomato) at lunch!!! ;-)

I would recommend this bar to everyone staying in Tsilivi. We were lucky that our hotel was at that end of the beach so we found it on our first day, but if you're staying elsewhere it is well worth the walk up.

It was the friendliest place we ate/drank at in the resort and can't wait to come back.

Take care all

Stayed in the apartments for a week at the end of august. We hired air conditioning for the week for a cost of 35euros, but was worth the money. Location wise it was perfect, minutes walk from beach and from the road with great bars and restaurants. It's up the quieter end of town, but I preferred it here anyway.

The swimming pool was lovely and warm (almost too hot by end of the day). The rooms were kept very clean, don't expect to be able to do much self catering, we had a lovely huge fridge, a kettle and an electric two ring cooker.

If going on beach hire your sunbeds from Freddies Beach bar, was definately the nicest place on the sea front.

This was my 2nd visit to Tsilivi and within an hour of arriving I went to Freddies.  By far the most friendly place we found.  We had no reason to go anywhere else!  Loved the sunbeds, the food and the company.

Will definately be back for 2 weeks next year!

Love to you all.

Fiorentino - (Restaurants in Tsilivi)

Emma E  (08 September 2005)

Was recommended trying here by a couple we met at the hotel.  It was the best decision we made! Spent 2 evenings here and the food was amazing.  Really friendly atmosphere and good value.  We saw it fill up quickly as was popular but did not feel rushed to finish our meals.

Will definately return on our next trip to Tsilivi.

Chose to have a meal here one night, both had starters, curries and sundries.  All v tasty and good service.  Was our most expensive meal on holiday but still 'reasonable'.

This was my second visit to Tsilivi and I couldn't wait to return to Spiros' boat!  This time I did the north of the island tour to the Shipwreck!  I'd recommend taking your swim shoes off the boat with you as the stones are hard going on your feet

It was a lovely outing and Spiros is a brilliant host.  I definately wouldn't want to go on any of the big boats, you see how crowded they are and they don't even get to go into the caves!!!

definately will return,

Lorraine, I'd say yes, it's suitable for a 4 year old. Spiros is excellent with children. They all have to wear a life vest and he ensures they sit in the middle of the boat. The speed the boat goes, means there's no moving about while you're out on the water, apart from when they let the children drive the boat!

My 3rd year back in Tsilivi, mostly so that we can return to Freddies!

The best place for sun loungers & lunches.  Plus we spent quite a few evenings here too.

Always friendly, great food (especially Club Sandwiches), drink & company.

Contessina Hotel - (Accommodation in Tsilivi)

Alan, Just come back from Contessina. The road it is on comes from the main road down to the beach. It is on an incline, but I wouldn't say it was a steep hill at all. No different from anywhere else in Tsilivi. For the evenings it's very central to restaurants & bars, plus there is a small taxi rank not too far should you want to get to the other end of Tsilivi (I believe 5euros a trip). It is a lovely hotel, but I think only 1 of the 3 buildings has a lift, so I would suggest it is noted in your booking for a ground floor room or specifically that building. Hope that helps.

Really lovely hotel.  Very clean at all times, excellent location.  Breakfast was much better than I was expecting, Fruit, yoghurt, toast, bread, rolls, croissants, eggs, beans, sausages etc.

The reception staff were professional and polite and everyone very helpful.  We had a lovely room in the main building to spend our 2 week honeymoon in.  Have stayed in Tsilivi twice before but never the same hotel.  Wouldn't hesitate to book the Contessina again.

The only thing I didn't like was Tuesday night Karaoke, listening to people singing/shouting till 12:30am was annoying.  Next time we'll stay out later!

Elpida Hotel - (Accommodation in Alykanas)

Emma G          10/10

Hi,

Just returned from a 1 week break at the Elpida booked through Manos.  We only booked 2 days before we flew so weren't really sure what to expect.  We arrived after 10pm and picked up our room key in the bar and was taken to the room.  The decor wasn't too bad, a few cracks in the wall but overall pretty good for Greek hotels!  A big room with 2 single beds (with 3rd pullout), dressing table, small table, dining table & 3 chairs, fridge (with freezer compartment), hotplate, sink & big wardrobe.  The bathroom was nicely tiled and all very clean.  Only a shower tray as in most of Greece with a mop & bucket left to help wash the water down the drain.

Air conditioning was 30euro per week and we couldn't of coped without it.  Safety deposit was 15euro per week with a 5 euro deposit.

Supermarket in hotel was reasonably priced, bar was small and friendly.  Swimming pool was lovely and irristible after walking back from the beach - about 20mins.  Only a 5 minute walk from the main resort restaurants/bars.  The only thing is that there isn't a path for the first bit so need to be a bit careful if taking little ones, but saying that the road was never very busy even though the main route into resort.

our friends who have travelled to alykanas a number of times came for a nose in our room and were very impressed.  i'd consider staying again with no hesitation.click to enlargeclick to enlarge

Can anyone advise on the cost of Air con and safe deposit boxes at Planos Beach this year?

Also, do all the rooms that are booked via tour companies (i.e sunset/TC) only have showers? Would love a bath for my toddler !!!

Karen - both Planos beach and Planos Bay are at the same end of the resort.  I'd say maybe 10mins walk.  If you look at the map on the Tsilivi page on here the Planos Bay is marked, Planos Beach is on the same road as Contessina and next door to the Alamis (both marked on map).
