Zakanthi - (Restaurants in Kalamaki)

If you enjoy romantic evenings for two, fine dining in the UK & are prepared to pay the same prices as at home then this is the restaurant for you.
If you are a family,in a rush & on a budget probably not.
We dined twice at Zakanoh (Couple 29,30) & both times it was excellent. The atmosphere is more chilled & laid back with ambiant type music playing in the background. We found the service excellent & enjoyed the breaks between courses. The food was fantastic - I can recommend the Mussels - Whole Seabass in lemon & olive oil dressing & Duck Breast with Chilli/Ginger sauce. The Steaks were excellent as well - All courses came with choice of fresh veg - & choice of potatoes ( Homemade Chips/Mash or roast) We were impressed with this as we found most of the other restaurants let themselves down by serving the same frozen veg & potatoes with the main courses(Even Michaelos!!) The Baclava & Banoffi pie were also highlights. To cap it all off they then give you a mouth watering fresh fruit salad (Complementary) Both nights our bill came to 86 euros that was with Starters,Main,Dessert & two bottles of Chablis.
Excellent !!!

Michaelos - (Restaurants in Kalamaki)

Thanks to this website we dined 5 nights out of 14 at Mikaelos. We certainly wouldn't have found it otherwise. Mikaelos was the most authentic greek taverna we found in Kalamaki. You receive a genuine welcome every visit, the service is friendly & efficient. The Greek starter plater for 2 was fantastic & unbelievable value. The Lamb Kleftico was the best i have had anywhere in Greece. The meat fell off the bone & was served in a beautiful mint type gravy. We were v impressed with the Makedonikis White/Red wine as we had struggled to find a greek wine which suited our palate but both were superb & again fantastic value. Every night we went the bill was never over 40 euros & that was for starters, main, dessert & two bottles of wine. Make sure you seek this place out !!
