Dennys Inn Hotel - (Accommodation in Kalamaki)

Danny

A family run hotel where the staff are friendly and helpful. They had regular light hearted evening entertainment. Plenty of sun loungers by the pool and close to the snack bar. Within easy access to town and beach. The aircraft didn't really affect our enjoyment of the hotel and any building work nearby wasn't noticed until we went for a walk away from the hotel.

Mermaids - (Restaurants in Kalamaki)

The food, service and price were excellent, we only went there once though as we wanted to sample as many resturants as possible but that one visit impressed us and showed why it is rated the best diner on the island

Parthenon Restaurant - (Restaurants in Kalamaki)

Danny

Parthenon is slightly up market to Mermaids, the waiters were very polite and helpful. They offered a wide choice of food and their specials were fantastic, especially the Greek Sausage special we had on the Wednesday. Highly reconmended. If Mermaids is the "best" on the island, then Parthenon comes a close 2nd.

Zakanthi - (Restaurants in Kalamaki)

Danny

Zakanoh looks very nice from the outside, however appearances are deceiving. While the food could not be faulted the service was appalling. We spent more time trying to get the waiters attention than actually eating. We were sat toward the back of the garden and they seemed to have a bizarre lighting ritual. Four different waiters stopped by to light an Incense, metal bird box, a candle and some strange curly thing. We asked four different waiters for the bill and finally got it after half an hour and having to actually walk up to one to get him to bring it. We think they were waiting for us to order more alcohol or food. Avoid this one if you want to do something else later in the evening.

Loft Bar - (Bars in Kalamaki)

Looked a bit scary from the outside, so we didn't bother going in.
