we just returned on the 24th August, the weather was fantastic but the hotel was quite poor. the blokes who work behind the bar are just interested in earning their commision on drinks you buy from them so don't be fooled, go to the Dolphin Bar right next door its only 2 euros a cocktail and the bar man gives you free testers and oodles of crisps and nuts for free too. Maria was a bit snotty, she doesn't like talking to the guesta and kym the Rep for olympia was rubbish. if you walk past her in the street don't expect her to be polite or say hello. she was not very helpful and she didn't even take us back to the airport, the greek (none speaking english) driver took us and so we didn't know where to go and book in (at the shed that they call the airport). the plug in mozzy repelant things don't work, we had 3. the cleaners are good as they changed our sheets er, once and cleaned by using a hose in the bathroom. this made it very slippy and hard to stay upright once they had left. if you get rooms 13 or 14 expect a postage stamped size balcony because you can only fit your foot on it. all the other rooms have lovelly sized balconies though but smaller rooms. it is what you would expect to be a quiet location as it is nothing like Laganas or argassi. this resort suits old couples or families with young children. you have to get down to the pool early though as in true english style, the towels are placed on the sunbeds and reserved very quickly in the morning. there are loads of resteraunts in this resort but they tended to add a couple of euros on each time (we think for the bread that they give you before the meal). the cheapest way to eat though was at marias resteraunt, pizza and chips for 2 euro 50 cents each. the euro has made the island much more expencive that when it was the drakma so if you have been before and think it was cheap, don't get caught out, take more money, we ran out! so if you have booked already, er i'm sure it will be nice but if you havn't booked yet, don't.
this was the worst trip we went on. the boat was very rocky and not for those who are sea sick or suffer from motion sickness. what could have been a very beautiful pebbly beach was ruined by 900 tourists all arriving on these huge boats. we booked with fidelity travel, we expected something totally different. the food on the boat was very expencive so take a pack lunch.
this was the best part of our holiday, the english tour guides were very funny and we would do it again. well worth 50 euros each
we thought the beach was very mucky, full of cigarette ends and dog poo. the sea was lovelly but the fish really do suck on your feet
this is the best bar on the resort. the cocktails are the dogs bollocks. and all for 2 euros a go
we returned on the 24th and it was extemely hot. lovelly. we stayed at the Maria Apartments, not impressed with it though. its not very busy for the hight of the season.
