Can anyone tell me if the Down Under bar is showing the rugby world cup - we will be in Kalamaki from 19-26th Oct and keen to watch some matches?

Flying out to Kalamaki this Sunday (19th) for a week, staying at Denny's Inn Hotel. Looked at the weather forcast and it doesn't look good - thunderstorms? Anyone been in Oct before, whats weather usually like? Be great to hear if anyone else going next week, also suggestions of what to do if I can't lie by the pool all day and how far are the bars/restaurants from Denny's Inn?

My husband and I stayed at Denny's Inn in October for 7 nites and had a great time. It was the 2nd last week of the season so everything was getting quiet and closing down, however we still had fun. We won the quiz nite and hubby won the last killer pool comp of the season!! The staff were very friendly and helpful, made you feel very welcome. Most of the other guests were friendly and we found plenty to stay up late with and have a few drinks with(we were the youngest couple staying there 30,32).The rooms were basic but very clean, didn't see any bugs!Breakfast was fine although don't think I could eat it for 2 weeks, if you want a fry up there are plenty of cafes/bars to get this. Hotel well placed for beach and only 5-10 min walk to main street. Overall a great holiday, just what we wanted!

Don't know why so may people think Mermaids was great. We had a meal there when we were on holiday in October and sorry but we weren't impressed, it is very average and nothing special. The service wasn't great either and there was 1 waitress who wanted to rush you. Maybe it was a bad nite when we visited!

One of the better restaurants in Kalamaki, definately worth a visit - the sword fish was good!!! More variety than other places and relaxed, friendly atmosphere.
