We stayed at Kalamaki for 2 weeks in September. During that time we had four evening meals at the Parthenon and decided that this was our favourite restaurant! It is a family run business and apparently the only restaurant which grows and produces all the food served there. We really liked the selection of Greek bread automatically placed on the table when we ordered. All the staff were very helpful and pleasant.
We stayed at Kalamaki for two weeks at the beginning of September. During the course of our holiday we discovered the Zakynthos Animal Welfare Fund - the only animal welfare organisation on the island. It is a charity run by a small group of British people who have the almost impossible task of treating, caring for, spaying and neutering, and rehoming when possible, all sorts of animals on Zakynthos. They also undertake feeding programmes to try to help animals on the island during the winter months when all the tourists have gone.
If you are an animal lover please consider helping Z.A.W.F., they would be really grateful! Their address is Z.A.W.F., P.O. Box 229, 29100 Zakynthos, Greece. A calendar can be purchased (6 euros) to help the animals, from Janine at the Hotel Exotica. (Along the main street in Kalamaki, take the turning by the Zakanoh restaurant which leads to the beach.)
