Hello Trevor i can only say that you have got us wrong completly,The chicken strips we do for all our chicken strip dishes is fresh and sliced at 4pm 2 hours before we open we then spice and bread them up mate i would never by frozen rubbish for this restaurant like many of my fellow restaurant owners do.you are more than welcome to come and see whenever you like the preperation my team put into the food and how fresh it is.I would never deal with packet stuff im sorry you have got us wrong.mermaids is also used by very respected english tour companies and would never settle for 2nd best for the staff they have.Im sorry you didnt enjoy your night but the staff and i would be very pleased to offer you a free nights meal to try us again on your next visit.Being a very busy restaurant means we seel out of everything and re order fresh everyday i can say that a handfull of restaurants do this.
And as for the seafood platter im sure you have seen kalamari before it does need to be breaded also there is crab,swordfish,prawns,salmon and seafood rissoto and seafood kebab as well not to mention mussels i could go on.But like i say you cant please everyone its impossible but i garantee we give 100 percent.Thanks for your comments.
sorry trevor i now see that you do not know my restaurant at all since you say that my pizza bases are premaid and not fresh well it goes to show that you are the one that has compleatly gotten us mixed up with some fast food place near by my pizzas are made fresh each day and like i told you before i invite you in my kitchen to see just how we prepare from our pizzas to everything else and to prove to you that you are wrong i invite the webmaster as well to come and inspect my kitchen as this is a site so people can add comments on not argue so no dont pick on people like chris that have eaten in all of kalamaki and that has enjoyed mermaids lets cut the argueing here next time you come i will get my chef to show you how he prepares each day his pizza bases chicken and much more im sorry trevor you have really got mermaids wrong and to close i challenge all restaurants to do this then you can come back and comment.

Hello pete, Thanks for the comments mate,The mermaids team as always tries its best to satisfy every person that walks past those famous doors we do run around alot we do get tired but to be the number 1 restaurant in zante you have to be on the ball all the time we dont copy other restaurants as they have nothing that mermaids does not do alot better we havent made it on sky travel or no frontiers irish tv for just being a normal place but for being the best restaurant in zante and 9 years in kalamaki by far.alot of places have opened nearby and good luck to them all theydo is try what they can to get there customers in at the end of the day we are all here to give 100percent no one wants less.Ofcourse there are many restaurants that would love to know mermaids secret of success and i dont blame them alot try to copy but badly our proof is our customers and if you havent tried mermaids or are coming to kalamaki please remember when approaching mermaids and passing all nearby resturants have a look and see why mermaids is packed and the rest more than half empty that to me proves that when we say that we are the best by far we have a place packed that shows it.
hi steve its con im sorry you did not enjoy it as much this year for whatever reason but you know whenever you do come again plus soda the staff and myself will welcome you.The staff work very hard too please alot of people its our job to do so and we enjoy what we do.Plus soda is a very new place we even opened late last year for the first time and being voted as the second top bar in just a short time makes us proud we welcome your comments and we will take into account the good and bad things so we can get better.Ginge is a great dj and a really nice bloke he has all the right to keep in contact with people on here you take a look at other bars comments and most of it is a message board rather than comments you do have a point but you cant stop staff saying hello either or even telling people whats going on.If admin wants to stop this then we have to have a run down on all places and wipe off whatever is not a comment its impossible.Please try us again steve mate and im sure you will love it once more you have a great rest of the summer mate.

Im sorry Mark for your experience in mermaids im sure the doorman miri would never make anyone feel uncomfortable while they eat infact we want people too stay and have as many drinks and desserts as they like we do not rush anyone and never have i felt it was time to reply to some comments as i feel they are over the top.I respect any comments good or bad but my staff are fully trained and have been for many years in mermaids they respect and appriciate customers choosing our great restaurant we try the hardest to please everyone but that is not possible in a real world no one can be 100 percent.Your rep in the first case should never reccomend a restaurant or bar its against company policy so that is something wrong there.secondly if there where 3 of you mark and near the door way thats table 18 it fits 3 people at the most 4.a party of people it will not take.many people que outside too come in and have a meal its the doormans job to tell the people how long it will be and too know if any bills have gone out so he can tell them the waiting time miris job is a very hard one as he deals with a big waiting list and will not want people to wait longer than they have to.If you could tell me mark what you had to eat and what you thought about it it would help us here make things even better we have a strict policy if you dont like it we change it for you there are well over 300 dishes and we try too make everything as delicious as our kitchen staff and head chef can.please feel free too email me with any concerns or advice and yes i do take everything on board because we take pride in what we do and we wnat to do it better.my email mark is zakinthian@hotmail.com thankyou for your comments please email me.

5 or 6 potatoes, peeled and cubed
First prepare your potatoes by peeling them and cutting them into small chunks. You will want about 4 cups of chopped potatoes, total. Next open up your can of corned beef. Scoop the meat into a large skillet and get it cooking over medium heat. Mash it up into small pieces as you cook it. Plenty of fat should melt out of it, but if it doesn't you can add a little oil or bacon grease. Add the potatoes and onion. Stir it all up so the bits of corned beef mingle intimately with the potatoes and onions. Cook it for a good while, probably half an hour. Add salt and pepper as you cook it, so it tastes right to you. I keep a lid on it the first 20 minutes or so, but that isn't completely necessary. If you like you can add the milk and simmer the hash in the milk until it absorbs it all. This cooks the potatoes a little faster and is traditional for good southern hash. You will need to stir this dish every now and then, as the bottom browns. Don't stir much the last 10 minutes of cooking though, so you can get a nice golden crust on the bottom of the hash. Cut it into wedges, or scoop it up with a spatula and serve with ketchup if you like. Good with coleslaw, or pumpkin pie and cabbage. This serves about 5 people. You can substitute cooked potatoes if you like, the cooking time will reduce some then. This is one of Richies favorite dishes.
