Just got back from Cactus yesterday (28/07/04) had a great time! Although some people have said their rooms were dirty ours were really clean when we arrived, however it was a different story after 2 weeks of heavy drinkin!. the people there are great, Yanni is the most enthusiastic person you will ever meet and he gave us loads of free drinks and made us feel at home from day 1. pedros is a bit grumpy but still an alright guy. i would not recommend this as a family destination as virtually everyone staying there is under 25. the nightlife is no more than 5 mins away and the beach is about the same. the pool is a decent size and is pretty clean. the food from the bar is delicious especially the full english! i really wish i was there, essex is such a dive in comparison to Laganas. If you are about to go you will love it!

The sand at Laganas isn't great it's pretty hard and not that nice to walk on for long periods of time. the beach can get really busy especially between 1 and 4pm if you want privacy walk towards the left hand side of the beach there are no sun loungers or people pestering you and you can get some peace and quiet. if you are after water sports there arn't any because of the turtles, i would recommend a trip to St Nicolas beach where you can do jet skiing, banana boat, rings or parasailing. there is also a decent snack bar there as well. the sand is also much softer.

This was the first time i used First Choice and found them to be excellent. The transfer from the airport to my hotel (Cactus Apartments) was no more than 15 mins but it felt shorter than that because my rep (Amy) lightened the mood and made everyone feel welcome instantly. Our flights were punctual both ways and were plesent, although the food was a bit iffy. the accommodation was fantastic and brilliant value for money! Amy was a great rep she regularly visited our hotel and was really approachable. She even went to the hospital with my friend when he was run over to make sure he was OK which is something that i'm sure plenty of other reps that i've come accross wouldn't have done. She was a good laugh and is a credit to First Choice i would definately go with FC again next year!
