this trip has little or nothing to recommend about it. the museum is small and nothing of any particular interest is housed there. we were given some free wine at the taverna opposite. i've never tasted rat's p**s but would guess it was not too dissimilar from the vile concoction that violated my taste buds. this trip is thoroughly unsuitable for children since it induces nothing more than monotonous boredom. if you want to take a closer look at the island's scenery i suggest you take a window seat on the coach transfer from the airport and save yourself the unnecessary time and expence that this tedious rubbish inflicts upon you.
Our original date for the trip was cancelled due to poor weather but fortunately the rescheduled excursion was on a very calm day. The boat we booked housed 40 tourists but there were many other larger boats at the ship wreck. Our party of 6 all agreed that the ship wreck was the worst part of the tour since the beach is horrible and was over crowded by the other day trippers there. The boat ride was good and the small port we stopped at was quaint and very serene. For a half day out this was enjoyable experience.
oh dear, what a crass barrel load of s**te this trip is. after enduring over an hour on a coach to laganas we set about being hoarded on to an over crowded boat to harass the local turtle who periodically raises her head out of the water. i couldn't help but think our tour guide was the island's champion hypocrite since he told us that turtles had declined due to the capitalist disease that is tourism and the over zealous tourist looking to catch a glimpse of a turtle in it's 'natural' environment. we stopped at a small port which was crap and told to attend a taverna of the guide's choice for further 45 minute education on the decline of the turtle. needless to say we left the bearded hypocrite to rant to those lacking in good sense and morality. this excursion has nothing to recommend about it. avoid at all costs!
We used the Apollo twice suring our stay and both times the meal was excellent. I thoroughly recommend the seafood platter and believe me you will not need a starter. Service was good and the toilets were clean.
s**t hole!
special thanks go out to the airtours reps who masterfully ripped us off by induces us into pre-booking seats on the flight home at a cost of 10 euros each. on arriving at the airport i was told by the rep on the coach to join the queue with everyone else as the airport "is always busy on a thursday" and in a manner of words i was then ttold here is no point pre-booking seats. thankfully i have kept the receipt and will taking this up further with them.
