We stayed at Danny's in June 2004. 2 adults+2kids.
We loved the whole holiday and even though we were visited by whinning bugs that dive bombed you at night and were immune to mosquito killers, the apartment was liveable. We used the dodgy cooking ring only for a little boy's night time milk and the shower worked fine if you didn't mind holding it and no curtains but it didn't drain that fast leaving the next visitor to the toilet with wet feet. The camp beds were very noisy and the children refused to sleep on them but I had no trouble at all-worn out from the days activities. We didn't use the bar but only heard it once when England scored at footie. The reps weren't great but so what.
What made Danny's fantastic were the people in the poolside cafe, the other holidayers who were all very friendly and the brilliant pool. Both children were noticably far better swimmers after the holiday and to top it all our daughters warts disappeared after having them for 2 1/2 years after one application of the blessed water from the church on the trainaki trip.Location was walking distance to all-would go again, although probably better prepared, forwarned and all that!
We only went here to catch the Trainaki trip which starts there but as usual we got there early, which was a good thing to do as the trip sold out in the end.
HOWEVER the girl serving behind the bar went out of her way to be really pleasant to our children (2+4) who were noisy and fidgety. She even gave then palm tree drink stirrers and straws in their orange juices. These palm trees are now in my china cabinet at home as I wasn't allowed to dispose of them. So this bar is not a night time only place to visit, day time can also be recommended.
I can strongly recommend the blessed water in the church on this trip. After 2 1/2 years of trying everything possible to cure my daughters warts on her hands, after one dab of this unhygenic liquid, they disappeared almost over night.
The rest of the trip was fine although our children did find the guides talk in the museum boring, but we just walked out to look around and sit under the tree house. The swarm of wasps at the entrance of the museum nearly had me straight back on the train though. By the way, its not a real train but a road train (my son likes real trains).
