i am going to kalamaki for the first time on june 20th so i need some information please ! firstly has anyone any info on hotel exotica with regards to fridges some people say they are in your room and you have to pay to have them unlocked some say that you have to get them on a first come first served basis i did have a letter from thomson regarding the kettles irons and hairdryers saying that these are on a first come basis they are free but you have to leave a deposit. Secondly i would like some advice as to what to take with me in regards to the mozzis (eg the best plug in repellents etc) any advice as to how to take money over there eg cash travellers cheque etc and lastly is it true that there are giant cockroaches in your rooms as me and my kids are seriously arachnophobic and i dont fancy coming face to face with one of those! looking forward to going as ive been reading all the comments and it sounds like a really lovely place and its my first holiday abroad since before i had my 6 kids 19 years ago.

just returned from kalamaki where we took 2 turtle trips the first was with Smile tours just next door to mermaids we were told it was a glass bottomed boat and that you go on turtle island Wrong!!!!! it was a great big boat jam packed and we sailed straight past turtle island and never saw any turtles we went back to get our money back to be told that we never went in glass bottomed boat because there were too many people and that nobody is allowed on turtle island (completly untrue) .we were so dissapointed with this tour we went and booked another one with carretta carretta tours it is situated just past Sofias supermarket they offer to give you your money back if you dont see any turtles what a fantastic day! it was a glass bottomed boat and there were only 8 of us on it the captain took us straight to a massive turtle it was sitting directly under the boat we then went on to see a few more before going to keri caves and we went inside some of them something the big boat could not do then we stopped for swimming then went to turtle island i actually drove the boat back from keri caves to turtle island!Stayed on turtle island for an hour for swimming there is a couple of boats there to buy ice cream rolls drinks etc but be warned they are very very expensive so take plenty of drinks with you also take some bread or crisps to throw in the sea and you will see hundreds of fish come up to eat them.dont forget your cameras and suncream this trip cost 15 euros for adults and kids over 5 half price and kids under 5 freeThis really is a trip you must do .
just read victor meldews sorry william gordons review and i am amazed at his attitude. He complained about the radio playing greek music that is probably because you were in greece! Then he moaned about people sunbathing around the pool but isnt that what you go on holiday for.I think you should stick to a resort next year where you wont be disturbed by people enjoying themselves may i suggest Antartica oh but take your own radio as im not sure they play english music there either!!
great
Well where do i start? we found mermaids on our first night and were made to feel welcome straight away the food was very nice and reasonably priced the kids meals costs just 90cents(60p)my 10 year old daughter was eating steak and chips everynight the steak was bigger than what you get over here for an adult.A meal for 2 adults and 2 kids with starters dinner dessert and drinks costs between 40-50 euros.
hi richie sarah stacey and rest of staff still there!
