We just back from kalamaki last week aftewr a fortnight. It was my first time to Greece but i absolutely loved it i would go back tomorrow if i could. We ate in mermaids some nights but went to many restaurants.
There is this brilliant traditional taverna called Petrino's (just down a street at "down under" bar area of main strip) food was cheap, and local residents came and sang traditional songs----one of our highlights of our holiday.
The only downfall is the size of Zante airport and we had to wait 95minutes for our luggage to arrive as there is only one baggage carousel but the next time we go the new arrivals terminal should be open.
Boat trips around the island are great only about 12euros each all day but dont expect to see turtles or dolphins (as when we went too cloudy so we didnt see any) but we did go on another trip for 3hours and saw turtles..
If you go The FIre Club have a great elvis night (and also cheap drinks) but in general all bars over there were fab (about £1.40 for a cocktail approx)
Anyway enough about me and i hope you find this information handy
