What a wonderful place to stay. Have just returned from a 2 week
holiday at the Zante Star. This is the nicest self catering
accomodation I have stayed in in Greece. The bar/lounge area is
air conditioned but is opened up during the day to let the lovely
breeze in. The pool is fabulous - and it really is the size it
looks in the brochure! The Greek Night was a real laugh and we
enjoyed the quiz and race night.
The whole place is spotlessly clean and extremely well managed and
run. We stayed in a double room with a huge double bed, although
I agree the apts would be a little cosy with 4 adults in, OK for mum
dad and 2 children though. We had a quiet room at the rear on the
top floor (apart from the cockerels but you soon get used to them!)
Yiannis the owner is quite rightly very proud of his hotel and works
extremely hard to ensure all his guests are happy, not easy sometimes
with such a mix of people and their individual requirements for a
perfect holiday. To give him his due he does this extremely
well. All the staff are brilliant, particularly Irene and Ireni
who work in the bar, such friendly hardworking girls - nothing is too
much trouble for them. As for Mikki he is adorable
you cant fail to fall in love with him, even if you dont like dogs!.
We met some lovely people, hello to Judy & Peter and Lesley & Paul (never did get to the beach Peter!!!)
All in all a wonderful relaxing holiday. A lovely place to stay
away from the hustle and bustle of Tsilivi but not so far that you cant
walk there in 10 minutes. Oh and if you stay here try the Demeras
Taverna, turn left outside the hotel walk about 500 yards.
Traditional greek food served in a peaceful country setting.
Perfect.
If we return to Zakynthos we will certainly be staying at the Zante Star.
Hi to Yiannis - remember life is so hard for you !! Kathy & Larry xx
Think it is hotelzantestar@acn.gr
I can see that no comments have been added to this restuarant recently
but am not sure why, can only assume it is because the restaurant is
quite a walk from the main area of town but we thought it was worth
it. It was extremely quite when we were there, only a few
people each time we were there but the food and service was
excellent. Ate here a few times and had a lovely meal each
time. The local white wine is a little potent though! Try
the Lamb Kleftiko or Beef Stamna, fresh fish also very good. All
served with fresh veg, potatoes or rice or salad -
whichever you wanted.
