Gia sou, Just returned back from zante (kalamaki) thought id put a qwuick post up.Well it is true that Brian is not at the Rose and Crown this year, If Brian reads this i hope everythings ok mate.

Also Spiro has decided to expand the Empire! and has moved to Lagana , He has just opened up the "Oasis" beach bar which is set on the beach just on the side of lagana, I was lucky enough for yiannis to take me to see him and he wishes everyone all the best.

The Rose and Crown is still running and even though we attended in the opening week the place is still as fun as it ever was, Kosta is the "Man of the Hour" and his english is getting better !

Yiannis (friend of Spiro) has joined the team at the Rose and Crown and is an excellent bloke, very philosophical!

Ive added a few pics for you all to see and hope everyone enjoys the holidays in Zante this year!

Well in Zante in the first week of the season and it was good to see the lads again, (mad as ever)

Even though Kalamaki was quiet these guys still are the same,

Not sure what happened on the last couple of days the place seemed to have shut down ??

when i enquired at tazies they said the police had callled?

Perhaps it was the kangaroo again?????

Hi all,

Just returned back from Zante for a week .

Went to the castello twice and the food was brilliant,

The guy on the front is doing his job and he does it well.

Our food came out piping hot and service was quick.

The only thing that put me off slightly was the bar next door

Alot of swearing and sexual remarks from there staff to there customers.

Music also loud if you sit towards that end.,

other than that a spot on place,

Would recommend the pizza as its wkd.

were at amarylis again, really nice hotel/appartments.

just downt he road towqards laganas, ery quiet down there though and only a small walk to the beach and parthenon

I try to get hold of geroge sometimes on msn but seems difficult at times,

Just had a new phone and lost his and spiros number int he change over,

We fly out on the 22nd may from BHX @14.35 woohoo!

Arrive in zante for sadly only 1 week,

If anyones also staying around this time, perhpas a quick drink and a friendly game of pool

Second year at amaryllis for us, so looking foward to the usual excellent service!

Hello to one and all

Just got back from Zante, and ive gotta say the place just gets better,

The Rose and Crown has had some changes, and all good!

Now behind the bar and managing the pub is Leigh and Paula, a really friendly english couple who made our nights most memorable,

Also Edward is working the area (a job as kostas) infact its his cousin!

Yiannis is not there this year and kostas has moved to Lagana to Sprios new bar (Central) we made a few trips to see spiros and sadly HE'S GOT RID OF THE PONY TAIL!!!!

But all is good and i wish Spiro and all the gang all the best

A special thank you to Leigh and Paula for making our holiday so enjoyable!

Olive Tree Restaurant - (Restaurants in Kalamaki)

We visited the Olive Tree for the first time and i have to say excellent service and food.

We were seated instantly - and drinks served quickly, food arrived in excellent time.

I cannot fault this restaurant at all

Amaryllis Hotel - (Accommodation in Kalamaki)

Just got back from a weeks stay at the amaryllis and it was our second visit ,

The staff as always are helpful and friendly

Panous and Stratos are very funny

I emailed the hotel to arrange for flowers int he room for my partner and this was done with no problems at all,

The only gripe i have is the sunbeds, this year alot seemed to be difficult to adjust, possible the weather or something, however there are new ones around so get up early if you want one!

Gemma was our rep there and she was Excellent,

Very approachable and helpful, Nothing was to much, She sorted a mixup from our travel agent out straight away.

One thing that did confuse me was "from the snack bar you can purchase a burger and chips..... why does it come with a fried egg on top???"

Im saddened to here such comments about the Parthenon,

The prices at the Parthenon are as the same as many other restaurants in the area and the quality of the food and service is second to none.
If you read all the other comments on the board you'll see no one else making such comments,
You cant please everyone and perhaps some people are just suited to eating at Big Boys! rather than a friendly family run restaurant like Parthenon.

The toilet issue has caused no problems at all, and in all the times ive been to Zante and Parthenon ive never heard anyone complain before, The most ive ever seen is 2 people waiting for no longer than a few minutes, This is not a problem and sharing with the Rose and Crown customers is no problem, The toilets are checked and cleaned hourly and they beat the facilities at many other bars/restaurants by far.

One thing to remember is you cant please everyone.

The Parthenon is sold and going to have new owners
