We are going for the second year running and counting down the days until 18th August (5 weeks tomorrow). The location is excellent, service is great and the cleanliness is second to none. All the staff including the cleaners offer a friendly smile at all times and are more than willing to assist you whenever you need it. Pool is great and it is a sun trap so do not forget the cream. Bar service is excellent and there is nothing better than a cold beer whilst at the pool side. Beach is great for kids, you have to pay for the beds but haggle a deal we did and saved a few Euro's a day €10 paid for 4 beds a day should have been €16. Pay for the Aircon you will need it after a day in the mid 30 degree heat. The resort is brilliant, try the Manos Grill, by far the best in Tsilivi, Popeye's and Koukos is also good. Some good bars, especially the Red Lion if you have younger kids lots to do for them whilst you have a Mythos or two (Local beer). Try a night in the "Two Brothers" very good laugh.

2nd Year running can not wait to get to the beach!

 

We too are going on the 18th for two weeks and taking our 11 year old daughter (flying from Manchester). You will have a fantastic holiday this is our second holiday at the Contessina and are thinking already of booking next year. The beach is only a short 5 minute walk and for four of us last year we paid 10€ for the 4 sun beds. Pay for the air con it is so comfortable at night!

Food: Manos is the best in Tsilivi and we have tried them all. Manos is a grill bar that is simply FANTASTIC the family are good and we will visit every other night of our holiday. Popeyes is good but always busy, especially in August anyway but this is our first time in May so me be different. Sunset that is next door do a great english breakfast if you want that little extra that Contessina do not cater for as breakfast is good but simple.

 

Bars: Lots!

 

Zante - The best Greek Island of them all! Get a car and check it out and make sure you do the boat trip from the jetty!

No worries Kim! We will look for the newbies on the 19th and if we do not see you, make sure you eat (if you have not already) at the Manos Grill, Maria and the gang are great. Also try one or two JD and Cokes at the sunset bar next door, Spirios is great and his shots are are more than a measure or two. As you can see from the pic, my wife is a natural blonde so say hello when you see us!

Your experience must have been a very rare ocassion, my wife and I have been going to Zante now for the last 4 years in total 5 times with our 6th booked in May. Eating here every other night during the stay of our holidays and never had the service taken this long or did we not get exactly what we had ordered. Agreed, you can expect a longer wait in the peak times like July and August as you do in most good resteraunts in Tsilivi. Please give it another go if you return to Tsilivi and talk to Maria and the gang about your experience. I am sure you will not have that happen again.

Enjoy, we have just come back and booked for next year in the Contessina in August, but a rush of blood occured today and booked a sneaky visit again in Ocotber this year....

 

 

 

 

 

 

As far as i am aware all rooms have been done. We have stopped in all three buildings and all have been done. Seriously - this is a great hotel. We're there on the 27th August this year again!

Theirs a new Itailian on the corner up from the hotel also, that's also very good. Other great resteraunts include: Nemesis, Manos now where Fat Olives was, Zues and Valentino's Castle which is a bit of a walk to the other end but worth it all the same - very authentic!

Agreed the age group is difficult to judge although my wife and i are approaching our 40's but agreed this is a great resort. Oh how it changes, Manos has now taken over Fat Olives just down the road and the Mainia restuarant is now an Italian and to top it, Alex's fruit and veg shop opposite the Contessina is now a burger bar. More and more are taking away rather than eating out, although still the best place on the island.

 

Enjoy and hope the euro picks up to make it cost effective to travel to this island.

We have stayed here 8 times (off week after next 27th Aug) now over the last five years or so and it really is the best hotel on the island, a good choice. All rooms we have stayed in have been modernised and decorated to good standards and I believe that rooms for 4 are ajoined so you should be ok.

 

If you contact Tina at the hotel she will tell you exactly - Tina is excellent and will answer all your questions!

Please do not worry about this at all, this is the best Hotel in the resort so book it and enjoy.

There is little noise from the resort but little is from the Sunset bar. We are good friends with Spririos at the cocktail bar and often finish our evening there, it is not over the top and they are very refined the music is not boom boom boom. The little noise, if any, comes from the resort so please book it. 100% you will not be dissapointed, we too are particular with the noise but do not loose sleep here at all.
