Bitzaro Grande Hotel - (Accommodation in Kalamaki)

Mark R

We stayed here in the middle 2 weeks of August and it was excellent, this was our 4th trip to Zante and the second at this hotel, we believe you can't beat the Bitzaro Grande, so much so we are going back in October!!

The staff are first class, Ghelly, Helena , Mavra and the maids do a fabulous job, nothing is too much trouble.
The hotel is always spotless, food is excellent, the pool area is clean and the rooms are first rate.

The entertainment team of Thomas & Tina do a great job and they don't push you into joining in if you just want to relax.

The beach is a short walk away, a great place to sit and watch the world go by, try 'Tasos Place' by the beach for great snacks.

The resort of Kalamki has a great selection of restaurants, shops, bars etc.

With the airport being so close it can be noisy from the aircraft but where else can you sit with a drink, lying on the beach or eating breakfast in the sun with the occasional flypast.( the kids like to play guess the airline)

See you soon

Well worth the short trek up the hill-you can get a lift up in a mini moke - and down again when you have had a couple!

This has got to be the best bar for its views over Kalamaki, sunset from here is awesome.

The surroundings and the atmosphere are excellent

A 'must visit' for anyone in Kalamaki

Spiros will make you very welcome here (he remembers everyone from previous years)

The place to go to chill out (or watch the football ) in large comfy chairs with excellent drinks at very reasonable prices.

The food is also very good with a wide variety of choice at a reasonable cost.

Plenty of TV's with a mixed bag of soaps, music, sports etc, sure to please all.

One of the best restaurants in Kalamaki, probably Zante.

Situated in the old town with its own charm.

The surroundings, food, staff, & price just can't be beaten.(The loos are good too!!)
We ate here on 3 occassions and the choice is excellent.
Will definately be back for more of the same.

Excellent food & very good value for money, we ate here twice, sit upstairs you get a good view of the Kalamki 'strip'.

The 'singing guy' at the front was a scream, well worth a visit, plenty of choice, try the lamb, its wonderful.

Olive Tree Restaurant - (Restaurants in Kalamaki)

Another excellent restaurant, to be fair we tried a few and never had a bad experience in 14 days.

Very extensive menu, allow plenty of time to choose your meals, you never feel rushed by the staff who are very friendly.
Well worth a visit.

Mermaids - (Restaurants in Kalamaki)

After reading all the hype and walking past the place we thought we would give it a try, maybe we should have gone earlier, it was very busy even though it was only 8pm.

After being shown to a table and eventually ordering, the food arrived which was very well presented on big glass plates but was a bit overkill for the portion size. The food was tasty, no problems, it just seemed the place was too big for the staff to cope with its popularity.
Worth a visit to experience it for yourself, but go early!
