Oceanic - (Bars in Kalamaki)

Hi Kev!

Loved the comment from "Norma" about us OAPs who drink in your bar .  Its was always a pleasure to rest our ancient arthritic joints on your comfy sofas, especially for our daughter Laura who's knocking on a bit now she's nearly 13!

Loved the welcome, the atmosphere and the mojitos.

See you next year, all being well!

Oceanic - (Bars in Kalamaki)

Fran M          10/10

Second visit to Kalamaki and Oceanic is even better than last year with the addition of dessert menu cocktails such as black forest gateau and the irresistable lemon cheesecake cocktails in addition to the other 100+ Kev knows how to make.  The mini connect 4 games on the tables added a bit of fun too.

Had some great nights in here with Kev and it was lovely to meet Helen, Joanne and Steve, Anne S and Johnny, Jane and Gareth (Castigers) and Ashling and Joe.  No night in Kalamaki was complete without a cocktail or few in Oceanic.

All the best for 2009 and hope to see you next year!

Parthenon Restaurant - (Restaurants in Kalamaki)

Had a few meals in here, the country lamb is as delicious as ever, the prices reasonable and the service spot on.

Parthenon has a couple of new waiters who are lovely, but we were gutted to find that Yiannis has left!
Was nice to see Lefteris, Spiros and Nikos again.

Zepos Taverna - (Restaurants in Kalamaki)

Fran M          10/10

We ate here on the last but one night of our holiday and will definately be visiting again next year.

We didn't order starters but had delicious bread with olives, black olive dip and tomato and feta dip, followed by Zakynthian chicken wich was equally delicious.  It came with greek roast potatoes and mediterranean vegetables. For dessert, I had the loveliest cheesecake I've ever tried.  My daughter had the baklava with pistachio ice cream and my hubby had the greek yoghurt with honey and nuts.  We all tried each others and all agreed that all were delicious!

We had a litre of house red (the 1st half being complimentary), two large bottles of water and my daughter had apple juice.

Telis our waiter was pleasant and attentive throughout and brought us little shots of lemon slush to cleanse our palates after the main course.

All in all a brilliant meal for 39 euros - one of the cheapest and best quality meals of the holiday.

Michaelos - (Restaurants in Kalamaki)

Fran M          10/10

We ate here three times and had fantastic food, service and value for money each time.

We had retsina the first two visits and a carafe of house red on the third.  The house red is lovely and as good as some of the more expensive wines we've had.

Dishes we tried were;
swordfish steak with greek roast potatoes and salad
spaghetti al forno
spaghetti a la marinara - my daughter said the pasta here was the best she'd had anywhere!
peppered steak - my hubby loves his steak and really enjoyed this one
beef youvetsaki - chunks of beef cooked with tomatoes and pasta, absolutely beautiful
moussaka
All were gorgeous.  The desserts, especially the baked apple with yoghurt and the greek yoghurt with honey and nuts were amazing.

On our last night, Dennis gave us a CD with music from his taverna which we'll play whenever we have greek meals at home.

Dennis and his staff are wonderful hosts and we can't wait to be back with them again next year.

We've just returned from a fantastic two weeks in the hospitality of Costas and his family and are already planning to go back next year.  Nothing is too much trouble for these lovely people and we were made to feel valued and welcome as guests.

On our arrival, we were shown straight to our 2 bedroomed apartment in D block which was clean and spacious.  Self catering facilities consisted of fridge, kettle and ring hob - fine for us as we eat out.  The room was cleaned and towels changed every other day.

Pool and surrounding areas were always clean and well looked after and we had no problems getting 3 sunbeds even in our second week when the hotel got busy.

Costas has a wonderful pool bar, worked by Dennis, Takis Jo and Panos.   Entertainment included Greek Nights (unmissable, for the dancing, fire eating and amazing food cooked by Adriana), delicious barbecues cooked by Costas, cash bingo and karaoke.

Alot of the people we spoke to at Costas were families who returned each year and its easy to understand why.  Roll on 2010!
