I have visited Kalamaki for past Eleven Years and I have eaten in every restaurant in the resort. The dinning experience of Essence has to be one of the best I have encountered in Europe. The menu is not fixed and changes according to what is availble on the market. It's wines are all organic and sourced locally. The attention to quality is second to none and the presentation is esquisite. Situated away from the centre of Kalamaki it offers a relaxed and quite atmosphere with low level lighting. If the chef is clearly of Michelean star standard and it is only a matter of time before you will have to book a year in advance as it's popularity with the British ex pats is starting to grow. A 10/10 rating is the only score this delightful restaurant desrves.
I was glad to see that this restuarant had closed. Last year I had the worse meal I had ever been presented I refused to eat it as my mixed grill had been deep fat fried. The staff did not like being told that the food was awful and complained at me for telling them so. Good ridance.
I have never eaten at this restaurant, however the advertisment on Island FM is so annoying that I doubt that I will ever go to Benikos.
You got to go to Kostas
Sadly Veronica and Derek were not in Kalamaki due to health reasons when we arrived. Kalamaki was not the same. Lighthouse was so special and will always have fond memories. We saw Adie and durim and they are both well. Light House will still get a 10/10 score from me and always will.
