MY SELF AND MY BOYFRIEND ARE TRAVELING TO THE SANDY MARIA IN JULY THIS YEAR, WE WERE A BIT WORRIED BECAUSE THE BROCHURE STATED THAT THE POOL WASN'T COMPLETE BUT PLANNED 4 THIS YEAR. I AM PLEASED HAVING LEANT FROM A COMMENT POSTED ON THIS THIS SITE,THAT IT NOW IS. THANKYOU! WE ARE LOOKING FORWARD TO IT AS IT HAS OBVIOULSLY HAD GREAT REVIEWS. THE ONLY THING THAT WORRIES ME IS WHETHER IT IS SAFE ENOUGH TO WALK BACK TO THE APPARTMENT LATE AT NIGHT? I DID READ IT WOULD BE USEFUL TO TAKE A TORCH! IF ANYONE COULD HELP THAT WOULD BE GREAT.

We arrived home yesterday.These appartments are wonderful!The maid is brill!so quick and so immaculate,always appologetic too ('Ooohh!...soorwi!')for being in your way etc. She's funny!Sandy and Maria are nice.Area is quiet although if you're after entire peace, don't expect a lie in!Within beautiful surrounding mountains and neighbouring homes(there are'nt many)owners of Goats,Hens (including a Cockrel!!)sheep and the odd friendly dog.Tsilivi(as other parts of Greece),has many cats. Very friendly(though looking very undernourished)A small shop nearby where there's a lovely man and his family who run it.He does exchange of T.Cheques,despite not speaking much English-he gets by!Very friendly. Sandy Maria's appartments are brilliantly positioned, being a short walk from the beach, and of an equal walk to Tsilivi town. If you want to travel to Zakynthos town or further,its best to hire a car or take a taxi(ask him/her for the charge b4 you take a cab ride!) I was glad someone suggested taking a torch,it is very dark at night.Owners of neighbouring restaurants etc v.friendly. WE WOULD CERTAINLY GO AGAIN. Louisa and Peter.x

We ate here at the beginning of our holiday with preconceived ideas of what to expect due to reading certain comments posted on this site.After visiting once,we revisited 4 times. IT WAS BRILL! the price of the food overall in Tsilivi is CHEAP! WOW! for example, a starter between us,a main meal each, two drinks each(and not having to pay for the bread as in some other retaurants!)an average meal each came to about £6-£7 something probably! Girls mainly that work there look as though they're working there throughout the summer(we went 1st July 2001)They're very friendly. Any delays in bringing of food/bills that might occur(though there aren't many)are usually due to the fact that the restaurant is so busy.Lots of cats around (hence the name!!) but are lovely and despite looking undernourished, don't tend to bother you anymore than anywhere else, they're lovely!)If we returned we would certainly eat here again. The restaurant in general is nice, would be quiet because of area set in,if it wasn't for one of the hosts.Although he does suspect when you're not after a loud "HOW YA DOIN' MATE?!" kind of holiday and when you want to be left alone to eat,although don't expect it to be in peace!he's very loud and this place is VERY!English despite looking Greek from the outside.We ate here twice to see if it improved,hence-the second time was the last. The Greek salad etc is available, but not set in the right context here.(Something nice about it we noticed,was they displayed 'please feel free to view our menu, it isn't our policy to 'DRAG' you in' which made a nice change. Not all restaurants are like that in Tsilivi, but some!definately are.

travelled to tsilivi 1st july 2001-14th july 2001. We were expecting a totally untouched resort, mostly it was, the town is more commercialised these days than the older guide books will have you think. But this was a good experience, as we had the best from every angle. The beautiful quiet long beach that stayed shallow when you walked out far!, we had the quiet, neighbourly/friendly area the accomodation is set in and then the nightlife gives an all round holiday experience which was lovely! we would certainly return! beautiful and friendly.
