Well you must not have got to know the barmen! cos they are really nice, and they would never con you, and fair dues, angels is good too, but there usually aint that many people in there! the down under is fantastic!!

Why don't you just let them get on with it, its up to them if they had fun on holiday, and they found a guy who they fancy, cos its all its gonna be in the end, give it a couple of months and they will be over him. I am a tourist of this place for 3 years does that comment apply to me?
I have loads of friends in zakynthos, mainly in kalamaki and laganas, and i've had a greek boyfriend but guess what, i never gave him what he wanted, and guess what, he dumped me. that just proves your point.
Il be in kalamaki in a weeks time how good is that.

I have been to Kalamaki 7 times, my mum has been 14 times, we are going back on Friday, and we eat here nearly every night. The food is gorgeous, the service is good and there is a lovely atmoshere. Maria and her staff are very helpful and friendly and i couldn't say a bad word about this place.

I recommend the chicken souvlaki, omelette, cheese and bacon pizza and the garlic pasta(but only if you like garlic cos its strong)

it was very packed at this time off year and it was full of youngsters!but the barstaff were great, funny, entertaining and good looking, what more would you want? they were always there to help you when you got drunken boys trying to feel you up and talking to you like a cheap s**t, like i was, when all i was there for was a drink and the barmen.

i actually saw alot of ugly, loud mouthed english girls in zeros. everywhere in the world has its fair share of ugly and beautiful people though.

i am an english girl, im not ugly at all, not all english men are like what you are saying, fair enough after a bit of drink they think they can get into any girls pants and act like little boys.
Practically every barman wants to get into girls pants in laganas unless they have a girlfriend. now that i've said that, you can all shut up and talk about what a great time you had in Zeros cos that is what this page is all about.

Oh and i do have lots of self respect. that is why i was sat at the bar with my mum just generally talking to Fortis, Raf, Zisis and little George and having soft drinks! i think i must have been the quietest person in the whole place, and i still enjoyed myself.

Em, i think you have pretty much summed up england. Raf is english too you know, and he is definately not ugly. He lived in Norwich before he worked in Zeros, i live about a 10 minute walk from where he lived. i think people should not judge countries, just based on a few people they have met or seen. England is a lovely place, and is full of lovely people(not as nice as greeks though).
So i think before anyone else makes a comment about england and/or english people, they should at least come to england and find out first.

im sorry but i have to add a comment here. I visit kalamaki 2 times a year and my mum visits 3 times a year, since 1997. So i no for sure that the staff are not on drugs, fair enough they do have a drink, but i think you will find that in most bars, and i think that Con deserves to have a good drink, as he is a very busy and hard working man like all of his staff. I have met chris and he is a great bloke.

Hoops, or whatever your name is, did you actually see a member of staff doing drugs? because some of them are my friends and i no for a fact they wouldn't touch them, and i've known them for over 3 years now.

Well said Chris!!! im fed up with people going to a personal note on here.
I actually like both angels and down under(in fact in the down under they have named me their little sis, as i have been there so many times, for the past 5 years.)
Like people keep saying, there are alot of underaged kids on the island going to the bars getting drunk, and even sleeping with the bar staff, its like that where ever you go.
But me, im 18 and i know how to say No. Im actually friends with Yannis, and last year my friend was with him and she didn't catch nothing!!!
I don't know why you people come on here, if all you are going to do is slag the place off, if you didn't like it, and you liked down under, then why don't you go give your good comments on their page, as i have done. You are spoiling this for people who have never been here by giving it a bad name.

sorry to say this but the last 2 comments sound as if these people got jealous in one way or another, the down under guys are personal friends of mine and i know what they are like and it is certainly not how they have explained them to be. sure they are friendly but every bar you will go in they are friendly(thats what greeks are like)have you been to laganas also known as slaganas for one reason in particular, if not don't slate the down under guys cos they could never be like that.

im very upset to see some of these comments, but i come back every year to the same place, i come to see all my friends.
george, nick and kym always look after me and my mum.
The only place that is dirty is the toilets but that is because the holiday makers have no respect.
The comment about parents letting their young teen ager out with a friend she met around the pool surprised me(what are you doing letting her out on her own for god sake) i think you will find that boys don't hit on girls unless they are provoked. i was in here everynight and have watched how girls dance around and behave.
at this time of year the island has more young holiday makers as it is the best time to party.
don't knock this place unless you have tried at least 7 bar/clubs on the island.

Well Done Con, this place is great, it is so much better than Angels.
I think you should keep Chris there at all times to DJ as he is the best.
Yannis and Nick thank you for the extra strong cocktails, could only drink a few as i would have had to be carried home.
Great location though, we only had to walk across the road to get back to our apartment.
Nick stay happy and Yannis, well you just stay as you are.
And a big shout out to the bar girl with dark hair (sorry forgot your name) you kept us entertained.

Leigh-Anne Reilly, why are you complaining on the down under page about guys following you home, if you ignore men they get the point i have experienced guys like that out there, if you give eye contact to them then they take it as a come on, if you dance like a lap dancer on the bar then they take it as a come on, if your wearing a short skirt then watch out.

Train - to answer your question, on the main road there is a wide selection of bars, but it depends on what you are into?

First of all i have been to this island for 6 years, 2 times a year, same resort and same apartment.
I have travelled to lots of other places
*Yugoslavia
*Gran Caneria
*Tenerife x3
*Ibiza
*Majorca x2
*South Spain
*Portugal
*Austria
*Paris and the list goes on.

Kalamaki is my favourite place out of the lot. Like Chris and alot of other people who enjoyed their holiday, the island has to cater for the tourist otherwise they won't like it, thats why you get the fake bags, and belts, etc, but it's real leather.
as for the comment about not being clean, its the tourist that do it, do you really expect the locals to go along the beach to pick up old fag butts and rubbish, there are bin provided. the people who are on turtle watch pick up plastic bags and anything that could harm the turtles.
as for the food it is YUMMY.

i think that you may just be a low wage, stuck up snobb with nothing better to do than moan about every grain of sand on the beach and every grain of salt in the salt shaker.

I have been visiting escape for many years now and we've only ever had a waiter forget to bring our drinks once and that was because it was extremely busy but other than that everything was great, especially the chicken souvlaki, and the rice is so tasty i could eat a whole plate of it!!

Everyone is entitled to an opinion, but if you haven't actually been in the kitchen then how would you know that food could be cooked in the microwave? the waiters all rush around because they are trying to serve everybody as well as they can. i have been in mermaids for food for 7 years now and i have never had a complaint about. the chicken souvlaki is great, and they always have good specials. Its always busy which suggests something.
