Booked the tour with Dionosis which were a lot cheaper than the Tour operators. A mature lady by the name of Sue was the guide for the day. She told us lots of interesting stuff about the culture and customs of the island. This was all first hand as she lives on the island. Plenty of time at each stop to have a look around, shop, drink, smoke whatever. I would recommend to anybody.
Our holiday was spoilt by noise the locals made racing high performance motorbikes along the main (only !) road in the early hours of the morning. I'm afraid Kalamaki does not live up to the claims in the holidays brochures.
Apart from the wafer thin mattress, camp site cooking facilities and the cracked loo seat, appt neat and tidy. It's cheaper to eat out. BUT BEWARE! There is a villa just down the road used as a base by some locals? They had a lovely habit of racing high performance (F*!?&*G LOUD!!) m/bikes in the eatrly hours of the morning. I called it INSOMNIACS PARADISE !!!
Keep clear of the Two Brothers in Kalamaki. I called it INSOMNIACS PARADISE. It is so noisy. Noisy teenagers, noisy motorbikes. The rep Jo is a bit lazy and is only interested in going out. Not very helpful.
